A spy thriller that kept me awake

Saurav has superbly crafted a spy thriller. I liked the level of detail Saurav has woven into the plot. He has done a lot of extensive research and has got facts to make the story riveting and interesting. I sat through the night devouring the story.

A short and decent military fiction-thriller. Follows a recent trend of Indian fiction that adopt common stories with Indian names and places. Also has helpful descriptions of how navy weapons/sensors work.

This book is so enthralling that I completed it in straight 4 days. It becomes more relevant to read it now given this entire book has a Chinese angle to the deaths and sabotage. It talks about how an undercover operative takes huge risks in its first operation busting the terrorists and then fights against the Chinese. The women's role in India's intelligence operations in nicely explained here, which is laudable. It is a fight of two strong women, on either side. Both Indian and Chinese women fight strongly, psychically and intellectually, for their nation.

Any more description will be a spoiler!

If you are angry against the Chinese for their current gung-ho, this is your revenge ( it is inspired by true events)

It is a fantastic spy thriller. I finished it in 3-4 sittings although I would have loved to finish it in a single sitting. The characters and the locations appear so real. Since it is inspired by true events it shows the talent and determination of our spy agencies, Police, Navy, Airforce and Vizag Shipyard. It gives a good feeling that as far as the national security is concerned, it is in competent hands and they will go to any extent to avenge the covert operations by our enemies. The detailing of the submarine operation and naval warfare is excellent. The style and pace of story telling is gripping. A must read for the lovers of this genre of books.

Vizag Sabotage

This is a story of clandestine operation of Inteligent bureau aginst the enemy of Indian nuclear submarine program. Story is based on true events and shows brave actions by IB officer under covert mission. We are spending lot of money because of our enemy neighbouring countries , they do all unethical things to overpower us. A big salute to our IB and Armed forces for their bravery. The story narrated in simple manner it be more interesting with twist and turn. This would be good thriller movie.

It is a fictional story however It seemed like I am reading real account of incidents.
The story made a mark while developing protagonist's character.
Aerial and naval battles are described in some detail while providing descriptions that makes one to follow without much efforts.

A Sagacious Conundrum

1. An interesting storyline built around plausible happenings.
2. Recommended for everyone to read, specially the scientists and engineers in strategic program of our country, the spy agencies, police and cyber-sleuths !
3. Barring some details on Vizag city locations and connectivity, story is well written.

Too much detailed

The maneuvers of warship and submarine are too detailed to get attention. Is luck any factor in war crisis?? Anyways, a well written thriller on real time crisis.

Brilliant!

Fantastic fiction! The narration could have been a bit more polished. But a super read for sure in terms of the plot!

The naval battle brought back to mind fond memories of Gene Hackman shouting out orders from the con in Crimson Tide (1995) .

Author has shown Indian spies as fools which is wrong. They are very sharp & do not fall pray to such simple tactics as made out in the book.

The author has shown Indian spy in very poor light., surviving only by luck. I very much disliked this approach .

Didn't expect much when I started with this book. I am not very impressed with the heroics of the protagonist, Twisha, but the face off between Q8 and the Submarine Destroyer was enthralling and to me that is the highlight of this book. Well researched!

Its an excellent spy thriller in Indian context and by far the best I have read by an Indian author. The battle description, towards the end, although short was very well described and it seems the author has done his research well. It was not exaggerated and neither under-rated.

I chose to read this book as it involves my native place, Vizag.

This is a thriller set in Vizag, the city of destiny as it's also called.

The Indian Navy is on a Top Secret mission to build a Nuclear Submarine. If it succeeds in doing so, it will join an elite club of nations in the Nuclear Submarine club. Therefore, it follows that mysterious foreign powers are hell bent on stopping this. In the last one year, four engineers who were working on this project are found dead under mysterious circumstances. After the latest murder made to look like an accident, the Indian Navy is convinced that someone does not want this project to materialize and is stopping at nothing to make sure of it. Therefore, an intelligence operative is sent undercover as a nuclear engineer with the task of unearthing who is behind the recent acts of sabotage. The operative is a brave and resourceful young woman who is caught in a deadly cat and mouse game of espionage, murder and deceit.

This is a decent effort from a first time writer. Although, it's not in the league of Tom Clancy and Jack Higgins, it does make entertaining reading. The author does a decent job of putting a spy thriller together. I felt the author could have been more descriptive in some places, but as I mentioned earlier, he's a first time writer. The narrative is crisp and racy, and there is good continuity throughout. Indian readers will love this stuff because it's straight to the point in-your-face stuff without any unnecessary drama and emotions. But I sometimes felt the story sagged for some parts in between. But it's a good clean read overall.

There's not much negative about it, except for the fact that as I mentioned earlier; the author is no Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler or Jack Higgins. So if you're expecting some really technical over the top stuff like that then you'll be slightly disappointed.

Also, sometimes the Author lapses into present tense, when actually depicting events in the Past.

But overall, it's a good and entertaining read. It's short and sweet reading material, great for reading when you have time to kill such as when traveling in a bus, train, flight etc. There's good info about Vizag, one of India's cleanest and most happening cities.

It's a decent effort by a first time writer.
