Stephen P. H. Butler Leacock, FRSC, was a Canadian teacher, political scientist, writer, and humorist. Between the years 1915 and 1925, he was the best-known English-speaking humorist in the world. He is known for his light humour along with criticisms of people's follies. The Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour was named in his honour.
WOW! I liked this story... It went little exaggerated…But if the doctors could just possibly do this, they would do this…😂😂😂😂 It really lightened up my mood… I would recommend it if you have 5 spare minutes.
Stephen Leacock is always fun to read. I have not read this piece before but it still worked the old magic: "A hundred years ago there were no bacilli, no ptomaine poisoning, no diphtheria, and no appendicitis. Rabies was but little known, and only imperfectly developed. All of these we owe to medical science. Even such things as psoriasis and parotitis and trypanosomiasis, which are now household names, were known only to the few, and were quite beyond the reach of the great mass of the people."
