Dear Reader,
Can you pinpoint one moment in time, where a decision or an action changed your life? It may not have happened immediately but looking back we can see how that one act or decision changed our path. Hopefully for good. I suspect most of us can. I know for a fact Evangelina DeLongpre can! Working for a nonprofit called Dreams Come True, she had the wonderful job of changing people’s lives every day. Little did Eva know thanks to one special request from a sweet senior citizen, that her life would also be changed. Forever.

Joe Aguirre just wanted to get reelected mayor of his beloved small city, but his campaign manager’s lofty plans to increase Joe’s poll standings turned out to be that life changer I’ve been talking about. Once Joe said yes to the date, things would never be the same again.

I hope you enjoy reading Eva and Joe’s story, where you’ll have a front row seat watching the fallout and chaos play out from one seemingly simple wish being granted. A wish that turns out to be the Date of a Lifetime.

Happy reading,
Lynne

The realism in the second book in the Taylor Triplets miniseries makes the story believable plus very entertaining. Whether a scene is about an emotional moment between the two main characters or has to do with the daily situations these individuals must face, the circumstances always come across as actual happenings in someone’s life. Eva and Joe may have much in common when it comes to background, but their attraction is immediate and hard to ignore. I enjoy watching a couple who do not know each other, yet both can tell there is something special simmering between them from the very start. I was pulled into the lives of Eva and Joe as I wanted to discover just how they would react to all the cleverly crafted incidents that Lynne Marshall imaginably created.

An unusual request comes into Dreams Come True, one that Eva DeLongpre really wants to fulfill. The organization grants the wishes of older adults, and this particular woman wants a date with the mayor in the town where she lives. When Joe Aguirre hears about the senior citizen who would like to spend some time with him, his manager gets him to agree since he is up for reelection and his campaign needs a boost. His evening with the elderly resident goes very well, and Joe definitely notices Eva who came along. Though their time interacting was supposed to only be one time, it seems fate has a much different idea as their lives just keep overlapping.

Past relationships greatly shape the present thoughts of Joe and Eva, as neither ever want to be in the same predicament again. I really felt for them, as what each has undergone could definitely affect a person’s behavior. One aspect of their connection which cannot be denied is the ever-increasing desire, and they find inventive ways to express how they feel. Any experiences with a focus on how Joe or Eva think about the event are shown with honest sentiments and are also often candidly depicted. There are numerous situations where choices must be made by these two, and what they decide could determine how their futures turn out. The unique premise of two sisters finding each other after being separated at birth is once more depicted with interesting developments. DATE OF A LIFETIME is constantly engrossing and has engaging characters.

I voluntarily reviewed the book, and all comments are my honest opinion

I wish I had the talent to write a review to describe exactly how Lynne Marshall's books make me feel and how wonderfully they're written.

I always feel full because Lynne has a way of writing that makes the story flow, the characters so enjoyable and the plot unique, modern and very enjoyable. There's a maturity about the writing and a skill that is behind the words that somehow make me laugh and cry. I always know there'll be a happy ending but it's the words in between that keep you engrossed and page-turning.

A Harlequin Special Edition, in my experience, means that you're in for more of a ride than the average Harlequin because there's more room to include detail that sometimes can't be taken the time to spend on due to the limited amount of words and Date of a Lifetime was exactly that. It was thoroughly detailed, wonderfully scripted and action packed. Eva and Joe are brought together in a unique way (and if this doesnt exist already, it really, really should) and as the pages turn I literally want them to be winning together.

I absolutely loved it, thank you Lynne Marshall.

Instant connections pave the way to lots of drama! With book two in her series The Taylor Triplets, Lynne Marshall brings us Eva's story as she moves closer to what she her newly found twin sis Lacy. It picks up soon after the first book ended and builds on a sisterhood bond in the making as well as a new romance.

Evangelina is an easy going character. Her entire life was turned upside down when she learned she had a twin sister out there that she had no clue about, but she took it in stride and settled in to make up for lost time.

Joe is delightful. He's a mayor running for re-election and his connection with Eva is making for some interesting gossip headlines from his opponent.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a bit of intrigue mixed in with a gentle romance. There's a feisty senior citizen, an adorable baby and several other supporting characters that make this story fun.

"Date of a Lifetime" by Lynne Marshall is her second book in a three book series "The Taylor Triplets." This story is Eva and Joe's story. It starts out simply when Eva grants an elderly, dementia woman named Savannah a date with the local mayor Joe. Eva and Joe have a hot night in the Limo after dropping Savannah off at home with the thinking that it would be a one night affair. Well, fate steps in and these two are thrown together by more than one person. One of which is Eva's newly found sister. There are obstacles in the way but they find that they really do enjoy each others company.

"Date of a Lifetime", Book Two in author Lynne Marshall's "Taylor Triplets Series", is a compelling contemporary romance with a touch of mystery served up with delicious dishes. Eva DeLongpre thought her plate of life was full with running a well-regarded charitable organization, becoming a single mother to an adopted son, and being reunited with a twin sister she had only recently discovered. Little did Eva know that making a wish come true for a special senior citizen would also be a momentous occasion in her own life--one that she never expected. When 84-years-old Savannah Schuster contacts "Dreams Come True", Eva's wish-granting charity for seniors, her request is for a date night out with the handsome mayor of her home town, Little River Valley. Joe Aguirre, a mayor up for re-election and also a lawyer with a neglected practice, sees the date as a good deed and good publicity for his campaign. With Eva along as "chaperone", Savannah enjoys her date night with "Mayor Joe". After seeing Savannah safely home, Joe and Eva are reluctant to let the evening end, and the sparks which had flickered between them flare into an unplanned passion. Both are taken aback with their impulsive actions--a relationship with each other just won't work. Or is there a way to blend personal lives and politics and come up with a winning combination? What about the unanswered questions surrounding Eva and her twin sister, Lacy, being separated at birth? Lynne Marshall is a skilled storyteller who keeps her readers involved, and she always adds an element of surprise.

Good book. This is the story of Joe, a small-town mayor, and Eva, a single mother and the recently discovered twin sister of Lacey (Cooking Up Romance). Eva runs a charity called Dreams Come True that grants wishes to older people. She received a request from an 84-year-old woman in the early stages of dementia. Savannah wants a date with local mayor Joe, who she compares to Jack Kennedy. Joe is a little hesitant as he is very busy with his duties and his own law practice, plus running for re-election. However, his campaign manager insists it would be a good idea, so he says yes.

I loved Joe. He is an all-around nice guy. A first-generation American, he was raised by hard-working immigrant parents who passed their work ethic on to him. He is in a tough race to keep his job, against an opponent who wants to open the town to chain businesses. I loved seeing his campaign appearances, as he ran a clean, issue-driven race against an opponent who wasn't anywhere near as honorable.

The date with Joe and Savannah was adorable. Eva was there as a sort of chaperone to look after Savannah, so she tried to stay in the background. It was sweet to see the genuine attention that Joe gave Savannah and the effect it had on her. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, and Savannah made regular appearances throughout the book.

I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Joe and Eva. Both of them had past issues that caused them to pre-judge each other. Joe was burned by a woman he loved, one with money and who ultimately decided that he wasn't good enough for her. It left him distrustful of women with money. Eva was betrayed by a boyfriend who turned out to be using her to score points with his friends. As a result, Eva is distrustful of all men. Despite all of that, the sparks between Joe and Eva flared fast and hot, surprising both of them. Neither of them was interested in a relationship, but they couldn't deny the pull between them. I loved seeing Joe's determination to get to know Eva better. However, trying to date during a re-election creates unforeseen problems. Adorable and heartwarming moments between Eva, her son Noah, and Joe, are willfully misinterpreted by his opponent. I was impressed by how well Joe handled it all. I liked watching the feelings between Eva and Joe grow stronger, and how they slipped into feeling like a family. There were some stressful moments at the end as Joe's attempt at romantic fell a little flat. The trust issues from their pasts flared up causing some heartache for both. I liked the insight into Eva's battle with those issues and loved how it turned out. The election night scene was fantastic, but one of my favorite parts was the last chapter. I shook my head a little at Lacy and Eva's actions, but Zack and Joe got through it with flying colors.

A subplot in the book was Eva and Lacy's curiosity about their birth mother. They waffle a bit back and forth over whether to pursue a search for her. I loved Joe's support and willingness to help. It looks like the two women have quite a surprise waiting for them in the next book.

Date of a Lifetime is a wonderfully written story about Joe, Eva and Savannah. Joe is a small town mayor who was raised by hard-working, immigrant parents that taught him to work hard for his dreams. He is running for re-election. Eva runs Dreams Come True, a non-profit organization that grants wishes for senior citizens. Savannah is a senior citizen recently diagnosed with early dementia and applies for a wish to go on a date with Joe. The date is a beautiful beginning of friendship, love, and overcoming the traumas of the past that threaten to destroy the budding relationship of Joe and Eva. Throw in an adorable baby, a recently discovered twin and a sneaky opposing candidate. This story is filled with laughs, a little tension, a few tears and great amount of love. Although this is the second in the Taylor Triplets series, it can also be read as a stand alone. This story will keep the reader entertained until the very last page.

I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.

DATE OF A LIFETIME (The Taylor Triplets Bk 2) by author Lynne Marshall is a March 2020 release by Harlequin Special Edition series.
Local Mayor Joe Aguirre was campaigning for his re-election and he couldn’t say no to a PR opportunity from Eva DeLongpre’s charity.
But the more Joe gets to know Eva, the more he wants to get closer to her. And there was a definite spark between them. They give in to their desire. But then their secret is leaked by nosy press. And the election turns explosive. Could Joe control the situation? And get Eva’s trust and love as well in the process?
DATE OF A LIFETIME is a sweet story of family and relationships. Author Lynne Marshall did wonders weaving this story with warmth and emotions. Eva was real to me. Her struggles and her triumphs, her strengths, and her weaknesses and ultimately her heart. This story had it all: characters, story, and emotions. There was romance, mystery, surprises, and tears that would keep a reader glued till the last page.
Highly recommended for all readers of romance.

Date of a Lifetime by Lynne Marshall is her second book in the Taylor Triplets series. Eva DeLongpres runs the charity, Dreams Come True. Eva receives an in ordinary request from Savannah Schuster and she grants it: A date with mayor Joe Aguirre. Not only do we witness a rather sweet dinner with Eva, Joe and Savannah, we also see the building of a building of a relationship. This is standalone book in the series but I also suggest reading the first book where we are introduced to Eva’s sister. Ms. Marshall has written another heartwarming book filled with wonderful characters. I look forward to the next book in the series. I received an advance copy of Date of a Lifetime which I chose to read and review. This is my honest opinion.

I really didn’t think I would like the second book of the Taylor Triplets as much, since Cooking up Romance was so good! I was wrong! Book two of this series was so fabulous! I fell in love with all of the main characters (special place in my heart for Savannah). This book is so well written, I felt like I was in LRV cheering on Mayor Joe!
Definitely recommending this HEA!!!

Date of a Lifetime by Lynne Marshall. Eva runs a foundation that grants wishes. Savannah’s only wish is she can have dinner with the local mayor Joe while she can still remember it. Eva and Joe are attracted to each other but don’t think they will see each other again. Fate has it that they are thrown together on a number of occasions and her sister even attempts matchmaking between the two. Can they find happiness together.

I give this book three stars for existing and one star for journalistic realism. It's funny how romance writers use journalists as a sort of deus ex machina - people who are skulking behind trees, asking uncomfortable questions that serve the plot and being deeply interested in things that really aren't newsworthy. I need to start a blog to review romance novels that contain journalists.
