DAMON: As a forty-five-year-old single father, I never thought I’d ever have feelings for another man.
When my business partner invited me to a support group for single dads, I was hesitant to go because I didn’t think I needed any help raising my boy. Little did I know, I’d meet someone named Jesse, who’d change my life forever.

Jesse's a handsome twenty-one-year-old college student with a baby around the same age as my son. Since I'm so much older than Jesse, I feel the need to protect him. As we spend more time together, I begin to question my sexuality. What starts off as a friendship quickly develops into something much deeper. Yet, I find myself holding back because of our age gap and my recent divorce.

Will I ever get past these hurdles to finally fall in love with Jesse?

JESSE: Why am I falling for a straight guy who's old enough to be my father?
I live with my controlling father who tells me I’m not good enough and I can't be loved. When it’s been repeated so many times, I can’t help but believe all those things about myself.

When I meet Damon, a handsome and rugged CEO, I wonder if I’m drawn to him because he makes me feel safe...or if there's something more. Damon's everything I’m not; he's rich, successful, and much more experienced than me. Despite how different we are, the chemistry between us is undeniable.

I need Damon more than I’d like to admit—so will I ever overcome all these negative thoughts about myself to be able to fall in love with Damon?

Warning: DAMON contains explicit sexual content not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
This series follows members of a single dads support group on their journey to find love. Each novel can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.

Damon and Jesse are two single, straight dads who meet at a single dads club. Both have always only been attracted to women, but they see something in the other that draws each in. Their circumstances, being single fathers, is part of it, but it's also just the trick of chemistry. There's no telling who one might be attracted to, and both of them start to realize it.

Their age gap, and their socioeconomic classes just may be too much of a deterrent for them to have a relationship, though, if Jesse can't get past those things and let himself be loved by Damon.

I wanted to love this one, but it fell very flat. For the life of me, I could not feel the connection between the two. Don't get me wrong, it had some heat, but the emotional connection wasn't there for me. The dialogue was cheesy sometimes, and the behavior was more than a bit unbelievable. Their first full on scene took place in the hospital while one of their children was sick with pneumonia. I mean, come on! Yuck. I didn't hate this one, but I didn't particularly like it either, so 2 stars is as high as I can rate it.

Umm... 🤔

This book has potential, well at least until 40-ish % I didn't really hate it.
Then sex inside a child's room at the hospital while your child is sick of pneumonia happened.
I was like, wut?
I'm a doctor, I know people have sex in the hospital every time.
But this story supposed to be romantic, and I didn't approve that. Lol.
The dialogue felt flat and writing was mediocre.
I wanted to like this book but I can't.
Or maybe it's just me that just finished an outstanding book wanted this one just like that book.
I know it's stupid.

DNF. Dialogue was just ugh... and why do narrators change their last name - you fooled me by your name, but I heard your voice, and I was not having it.

I’m sorry but this was pretty bad. The dialogue is formal, stunted, reserved, stiff, ceremonious, have I made my point. People don’t speak this way. Maybe robots do. Consequently, nothing works for me in this book. The characters seem stiff and unemotional. There is no real connection between the main characters. This should have been an interesting examination of two people facing personal crises (single father, sexuality, etc.) but it just fell flat. Two stars because I’m in a good mood but it could have been one.

Two single dads, a Single Dads Club.

Damon is in his mid-forties and a single dad. He has a very successful business with his friend and partner Liam. He is divorced and raising his only son.

Jesse is twenty one, a single dad, college student and working as a server this summer. He has been struggling in life since he was young, having to take care of himself and his father. Now that he has Ari, it seems that life is harder with everything else that is going on but he loves his daughter so much. He will do everything for her.

New dads adrift, not knowing what to do. Joining a Single Dads group to meet other single dads might somehow lessen the burden that they are facing. Being attracted to another dad/man is new for our main characters. They are trying to navigate it. Friendship turns into something more. Both our characters have never fallen for another man before, they think that being in a similar situation might have something to do with it.

A sweet gay-for-you, age gap story that’ll make you fall in love with Jesse and Damon. Thank you Ms. Candice Blake! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Suspending disbelief a bit too far (spoiler)

The actual writing was solid and grammatical. I know there has to be a lot of leeway in light romance for the sake of letting the story flow. If every time our MCs went for a pee or moaned about work and friends was detailed it would get tedious. But where two babies feature strongly and not a single diaper needs to be changed, and not a conversation gets interrupted by crying? Sprained ankles are a crucial part of romance, but a cut so bad one's leg collapses (cue muscular carry). SPOILER ALERT It's good to create a bit of suspense, but the first full on virgin sex scene has to wait until in the hospital beside a baby on oxygen? I kept skimming on because I rarely review, but had to bow out . I couldn't decide if the author was someone who had never been around children, or had never been around men.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

Jesse a 21 year-old college student raised by a single abusive father, now a single father himself of a 5 month little girl, joins a single father's support group in hopes of avoiding becoming what his father has become and getting support help in raising his son while he completes his college Degree.

There he meets two other single fathers, Damon and Liam. Liam, Damon's long time friend and business partner convinces Damon, a 45 year-old divorced single father, to attend the single Dads group with him. Damon, suffering emotionally from his ex-wife abandoning their marriage and six month old son, partners up with Jesse during a "getting to know you" group exercise and feels an immediate connection with Jesse. The two become good friends through the support groups social activity group meetings and events. Friendship soon turns into something a lot hotter to the surprise of both straight men.

A really enjoyable book, you'll have a hard time putting it down and be wondering until the end what will his friend Liam think when Damon reveals the new turn his life has taken.

Never say not to new experiences! Liam, 45 dad of Hayden dragged his best friend, Damon, 45 father of Brooklyn to a meeting of the Single Dads' Club. Damon met Jesse a 21 year old single father of Ari, college senior. Damon was intrigued by Jesse's ambition, dedication and persistence in being a good father and man. He saw something in Jesse and his protective instincts were aroused. Jesse, was a totally nice guy who was doing the best he can to be a good man and raise Ari with the best he could give her. Jesse, lived with his single homophobic alcoholic Dad who raised him. The environment was toxic, but it's his Dad! Damon and Jesse struck up a supportive friendship and realized they may be more than friends. Can Jesse let go of the poison his father fed him? Can Damon move past his old hurts? What will Dad say? Absolutely enjoyable. Jesse stayed in his head too much, but he was young. Nicely done first story. Looking forward to reading about all the Dads.

Great

Jesse and Damon are single dads who meet at the single dad’s support group. At their first meeting they become instant friends. Everything feels right and falls into place. The more time they spend together the more they want to be together. This book focuses on two straight men who are attracted to one another and together navigate what it’s like to be with a man, together. It also focuses on how living in a toxic environment can hinder you from experiencing life. But when you have the support, like Jesse does, from Damon he begins to see things for what they are. Eventually things get worse and he finally ends up saying enough is enough. I’m done! All of this is what happens in book 1 Damon, Single Dads Club. It’s a great book and gets a 5 star ⭐️ rating. 💜

Brilliant

Absolutely loved this book, Jesse is such a gentle soul , trying his best to do the right thing with his baby daughter, despite his living conditions. Damon is a very successful business man recently divorced with a baby son, when the two meet life takes a complete U turn.

Good, but could have been great.

The story was good but it seemed to be written in a hurry and lacks a bit of polish.
The two men are great but there were times where Damnon seemed to be a bit too forceful towards Jessie. I don't know why the author wrote the epolouge, it seemed unnecessary as it is only 2 weeks later.

This is a new to me author and a story that sounded interesting. I’d definitely not recommend it. It started out fairly well but I was done with it by the hospital scene. I’d like to recommend to the author that she try that ALL of that scene out and see how it works out. I will not be continuing this series.

This is my first Candice Blake's book and I was greatly surprised. The plot is fascinating, especially because started with 2 straight men who met each other in a support group and fell in love. It is M/M, age gap story and the way Damon accepted and supported Jesse is endearing. Full of romance, lot of hot scenes and some conflict to make everything more interesting, the story is captivating. It tries an unnecessary daddy kink that didn’t work, but you forgot about it with other great scenes. At the end you’ll find a hot bonus scene that is the cherry on top. I can’t wait for book 2!!

Great!

I actually read the third and fourth books first and enjoyed them so much that I had to read the whole series. I love how Damon and Jesse connected. Damon is exactly what Jesse needs but he didn’t know it. I can’t wait to read Liams story!

My first by this author but definitely not my last, really enjoyed this fast paced well written story, such a great start to a new series. Single Dad's Club. Yea right, my best friend Liam convinces me we should go now that we're both divorced and single, hopefully by spending time with other single fathers we can find life just a little easier, and there's where I meet Jesse. He's younger then me, the youngest of the bunch but there's just something about him that draws me in, and our friendship has begun. But could there be more here than just friendship, maybe with a little bit of time spent together, we will have a chance to see how far our friendship will take us.

3.5 🌟 rounded up

This was a sweet book. The characters are well developed throughout the story, and the writing is done well with only a few errors.

Damon is a 45 year old single dad. He's also a self-made CEO of his own business with his best friend Liam, has the best of everything, but not a life. It hasn't always been this easy for him, but he pushed himself to succeed, and he did it with flying colors. When Liam talks him into going to the support group for single fathers, he's reluctant. He doesn't share about himself well with strangers, and at work, he's the bad cop to Liam's good cop.

Jesse is 21, struggling to raise his daughter, finish his last year of college, work part-time...and deal with his father. He's not in a good place, metaphorically or physically, but his friend tells him about the support group, so he decides to go. It's in a private school, and he most likely won't fit in, but he needs advice. When Damon approaches him after they're asked to pair up with a stranger, they hit it off right away.

Very quickly, Damon realizes that he might be attracted to Jesse. Jesse has an idea, but he keeps backing away. Both men have always been straight, and this insta-attraction happens out of the blue. It's not until the Single Dads Club camping trip that they act on the feelings, but then doubts start creeping in. They still get together socially, with a little flirting involved. After Jesse has a conversation with his friend, things really heat up. I found it a little strange that there really was no fumbling or questions; everything just went pretty smoothly.

When Damon asks to make things more serious, Jesse bactracks. He let's his father become his excuse, and starts pulling away from Damon. But when Damon asks to see him, he has come to a decision; he has to walk away. Thankfully, Damon doesn't hold a grudge, because not long after, Jesse calls begging for help. After everything is said and done with that situation, Damon convinces Jesse it's time for him to think about the best environment for his daughter and himself.

Jesse and Damon work things out, and seem to have a bright future ahead of them. After a lot of angst, Jesse has finally realized that he shouldn't have to take care of his dad, too, and he can now focus on his new family's HEA.

Happy reading!

**3.5**
I really enjoyed the story/plot of Damon. Damon and Jesse are both newly single fathers, for different reasons and meet at a Single Dad's club, there to support dads and provide friendship. They are from different situations, age brackets and income levels but they build a friendship that moves, unexpectedly for both, to more. Whilst navigating fatherhood they also have a new attraction to another male with the possibility of a very different future.
Jesse's character tugged on my heart as his living situation is hard. He's striving to make a better life for himself but has no support from his father who he lives with along with his baby daughter. He's really fighting by coming up to his last year in college, working a part time job and having sole custody of his daughter.
Damon is a man who has worked hard for what he has and now enjoys the perks of that life. Left by his wife, with sole custody of his son, he struggles to move forward and let others in. He finds himself drawn to Jesse but unsure why. They have fun together, on outings, dinners and at the Single Dad's club but when feelings become involved things get really interesting.
The thing that I struggled with was that I didn't really feel the connection there between the two MC's. I loved how the story moved forward and developed, a range of emotions and events occurring throughout the book. Though there were moments of closeness, tension, elation and fear, it wasn't quite there for me when it came to Jesse and Damon. Once there was a big change in viewpoint that didn't take much to change even though it swung from one strong opinion to the next and there could have possibly been a bit more fight from that character against the feelings.
I would recommend reading this book, for those who love an age gap, books with adorable babies and some hot make out sessions. I'm looking forward to seeing how the series develops and hoping Damon's best friend is up next with his own story.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I was hooked as soon as I discovered the story was going to be about a Single Dad's Club. I started reading it as an ARC, but finished it on Kindle Unlimited. This is a book with quite a few tropes: gay for you, May-December romance, an abusive home life, Rich Man / Poor Man, coming out after being heterosexual, public pleasures and almost getting caught, it also features a tiny bit of daddy kink.

Each man was conflicted over his emerging feelings and sexual attraction to another man, especially after being so exclusively heterosexual they both had fathered children. Coming to terms with these new feelings and what they meant was much harder on one of the MCs.

Another huge conflict was the inability for one man to understand and accept that he was worthy of the attention and affection showered on him.

There was a lot of angst in the story as one MC in particular kept wavering over remaining mired in an unhealthy past or moving forward into a bright though uncertain future. Friendships were important and a Father/Son conflict comes to a head.

I would have given this story five stars instead of four, except some of the things I enjoy about Single Father books are the minutiae of child care. Such as feeding, changing diapers, reading to the baby. First words and the first steps, in particular the first time Da Da is uttered. These men loved their kids and a lot of time with them especially at the beginning, but always seemed to be just placing them in car seats and playpens or bassinets together or they had others watching the children once they got together.

Otherwise I enjoyed this sensual book even though it abruptly ended at 85%. But a Bonus Scene could be downloaded and enjoyed immediately.

Nice story actually.

Damon meets Jess at the Single Dads Club both single fathers and yet from two different worlds.
Damon is a successful business man and jess a college student trying to get by with a son and not much help from his dad.

I like the fact that Damon remember where he comes from, he hasn't always had money and a happy family life, so he understands where Jess is coming from. In all it's a beautiful story, maybe a bit too much at times.

Most people would probably be turned off byt the age gab between them, I don't mind, love doesn't know age, love is love. I think it's great that Demon wants to take of Jess, but also that Jess is so independent in a kind of 'I don't want your money'.

I don't really get the 'gay for you plot' in some stories it works, but for some reason not in this one, I wish I knew why, it just felt odd. I know these are stories and you can plan them as you want, but I still don't get it. Being forty five and never even thought about sex with another guy.. Is that really possible.

But overall I liked the story.

Damon is the first book in the Single Dad’s Series by author Candice Blake. I loved this story. There is a pure romance quality to this book that I loved. There is angst as well but the romantic in me loved this one for the romance. This book is written in dual pov. I am huge fan of this type of writing it allows me in the heads of both characters and I get to feel what they feel.
Damon is not happy about being dragged by his best friend to a single dad’s meeting. He is in his mid-forties and feels overwhelmed. He is divorced and has the cutest little boy he takes very good care of. He is in business with his best friend. Life is lonely in some ways but good in others for him. He is a laid back kinda guy.
Jesse is 21 he has a verbal abusive father. A cute baby girl he takes care of, and he works his tushy off as well as going to college. He wants to make something of himself. He might be poor, but he will not always be poor in his mind. I loved his drive and determination.
Together these two have never had a male relationship before. But they are open enough to try. I loved them together. Jesse is very mature, so his age is not an issue for me. He is wise in mind if not in years.
I cannot wait to see where this series goes next. I know I will be on the lookout to read more about the single dads and who they fall in love with.

Damon is the first book in the Single Dads Club series by Candice Blake. I immediately fell in love with the tone, and the writing is soothing and smooth.

Jesse and Damon meet at the Single Dads support group. Jesse is a younger man, still in college, but he starts up a good friendship with Damon, who's more than twice his age. Once a friendship evolves, the feelings start to intensify. Soon Damon's questioning his first time interest in a man. Ends up that Jesse is doing the same.

Their story is a lot of fun, having me fall in love with both men early on. Jesse and Damon just work perfectly together and it's sweet how well their babies get along also.

They are two men who have never been with a guy before, which leads to some super hot and sexy first times and exploration. Swoon. Their easy love of rimming, and public sex just adds to the spice. Did I mention rimming? Yeah, there's lots of rimming!

In addition to all the fun, they struggle with an alcoholic father, money issues, the differences in their bank accounts, and all that comes with falling in love and coming out. It's all well developed and will leave you fully invested in what happens.

Damon is a riveting double GFY romance, mixed with a May to December trope, as opposites attract. Candice Blake entertains with this story of vast economic differences and a young man who needs some help. God, I love Damon and Jesse! You will too.
