When I was young, I wasn't allowed to see PG-13 movies until well after I was 13, so I'd regularly read the novelizations of movies. Before I had ever seen this movie, I read this book. Oddly enough, this book ignited my lifetime love of reading. I will always be thankful to Harriet Grey's "The Cable Guy."
This book sticks close to the story told in the movie but gives a deeper look into the thoughts of characters. It is a good comical satire on a tv drenched society and worth reading, especially if you prefer book over movies.
27 inch screen. And it's big, sleek and cutting edge. First paragraph haha. Steve has a great TV. A wacky, strange cable guy comes to fix the TV. A proposal of illegal cable came up. A 5000 dollar fine or 6 months in jail if convicted. Now Steven has a date with the cable guy. The cable guy is leaving messages after messages. Creepy, scary. The cable guy was literally brought up by a TV. He learnt the facts of life from the facts of life. Intruding into his life. You can't turn of the cable guy like a TV remote.
I wanted to actually read a book sense I normally just listen to audio books. It really has been awhile. I found this at the goodwill or maybe some other thrift shop with some other books for like .50$ or something. I started with this because I knew the story because of the movie. It really was just the movie in written words as far as I can remember, I has been awhile sense I seen it. So 4 stars just cause I like the movie when I was younger.
I absolutely love the movie “The Cable Guy” it was pretty radd to be able to read the novel. It was almost like the movie, but there were a few things that happened in the book that didn’t make it to the movie. The cable guy was a little more psychotic in the novel😜😜
The author demonstrates a pretty great grasp on Jim Carrey's comedic voice and an almost complete disrespect for the art of the film novelization otherwise.
