Herstory: What I Learned In My Bathtub
It's often in the unseen moments that we tackle the cathartic stuff of life-the stuff that defines who we are, and how we view ourselves. In this honest, edgy collection, thirty women reveal the nitty-gritty reality behind their most defining experiences. From first jobs and former lovers, to marriage and motherhood, these are the milestones that uncover new meanings, test who we are, and inspire us all to take action on our own.
As women we're well schooled in sharing our lives-and our hard-won wisdom. Here that wisdom runs the gamut from finding yourself when you're lost in a young mother's "babyland," to putting the past behind you after a painful divorce. From the single mom who resorts to desperate measures to land a decent job, to the big-city careerist whose encounter with destiny occurs at a mysterious roadhouse on an unlikely stretch of country road, you'll recognize your past, present, and future selves in these wise, often wise-ass women.
Featuring intimate Q&A interviews with each contributor, HerStory is as lively and lovely as an impromptu slumber party with best friends. Inspired by the strength, style, and humor found within these pages, you'll find the guts and glory you need to transform your own life, one unseen moment at a time.
Indi Zeleny is a writer and editor from California who lives in the countryside with her husband, two children, her mother, two dogs, and two cats. She loves warm summer evenings, travel, and a really good cup of Mexican hot chocolate.

Herstory is a collection of stories from various women. Each woman tells the story of an important turning point in her life. The book is by turns hilarious, heartbreaking and philosophical, and reading it feels like having an amazing conversation with some very interesting and wise ladies who have experience to share.

I really enjoyed taking a peek into so many various lives and lifestyles.
Being Elmo was my favorite. I can only imagine what it would be like to get tackled by a room full of wound up 4 yr. olds with only one goal in mind: Remove Elmo's Head.
Yep, still giggling over that one.

This was great! I could relate to a lot of the stories these women told. Good read if you just have a few minutes here and there to pick up a book.

I remember really liking several of these short stories. I think about them from time to time years later.
