I had to read this for my History class. This is said to be a response to Rudyard Kipling's "A White Man's Burden", It definitely answers back to what Kipling stated in his poem. It can be read on it's own though, to give the reader a background of the feelings of people during the late 1800's early 1900's. It's not something I would have read if not for my history class, and I'll probably never read it again. It was an interesting read though not to my tastes.

Re-read for my African History class. I'm still not a fan, if I hadn't had to read it for my history class I wouldn't have re-read it.
