Avery

Did I fall down some kind of rabbit hole into crazy town? People I thought were long dead start popping out of the grave all over the place. I want off this ride and back to my regularly scheduled life. Unfortunately, it looks like I’m stuck with Ryker because of his weird powers and whatever he did to me. I guess if I had to be tethered to a human, Ryker is okay. Not that I like him or anything. I’m just not sure about his idea to hunt down the psychopath that tried to kill me. Something doesn’t feel right about this whole thing, and why am I getting this weird itch to protect Ryker all of a sudden?

Ryker

My foster mother always warned me that using my powers without fully understanding them would land me in trouble. Turns out, she was right. I’m not a fan of fate, but it looks like Avery and I are more connected than I thought. Who knew I’d become so attached to the wildcat vampire that fell into my lap during a rainstorm of bullets? And that’s the problem. I’m spiritually attached to him now with no way to undo it. With more questions than answers, Avery is going to have to just deal with my plan to hunt down a murderer. I need to know who and what I am before the people I love get hurt.

Tethered Souls is the second book in the Consequences of a Sin Series and follows vampire Avery and human Ryker as they navigate the new truth of their world. Danger lurks around the corner, and these two will have to discover what it truly means to be tethered, or risk the destruction of their very souls. This book is not a standalone and reading the series in order is highly recommended.

Good book but not as good as the first

This book was good, but I liked the first on better. The pacing there was faster, and there was a lot more action. We learn more of Avery's past but not a lot especially considering the length. We learn even less about Ryker. We do see more of Ryker's foster parents and they were awesome! So supporting and willing to put their lives on the line for their son's. Avery's mentor/father/brother, Lucy, pissed me off. He would pop in, teasing that he would answer some of our questions, but leave before he said anything! We are pretty much left with the some questions as we had in the beginning of the book. Also, it's obvious that Avery and Tyler are going to end up together romantically, but this is a slow, slow, spools burn. I was hoping for more. There is some action, but not nearly enough for me. I hope the third book is better.

Avery and Ryker are getting a little closer but neither is really truly understanding what the link they have to one another. Looking forward to the last book of this series.

The first book in the series was a great introduction to the series with a whole lot of action, frustration, mystery, and two characters who will absolutely have a hard-won HEA if they can survive everything that comes their way. This follow-up brings us right back to where we left with Avery healing with all his ill-tempered flavor and Ryker trying his best to reach him on some level other than the disdain Avery can't seem to let go of. What it doesn't bring us is really any closer to a resolution.

The book spent so long dragging out Avery's internal angst and constant rejection of Ryker that I had such a hard time finding what I thought I liked about him in the first place. His childish rejection of Midge was when I could see that lost little boy inside of him was in the driver's seat and it went a long way to soothing some of my annoyance with him.

And then we have Ryker. Despite his "mistake" in book one, he's doing his best to be there for Avery no matter how difficult Avery makes it. I have a soft spot for him, I'll admit, so it makes it much easier to excuse his reactions when they're a bit volatile. His humanity, his heart, his desire to be and do good is enough for me to love him and want all the good things for him, even if his heart decides Avery is that good thing.

Just as the story is getting really good, finally making headway with the overall series plot, it ends. It's definitely an effective cliffhanger moment, but I must say that I was so very annoyed because it felt like it took forever and seventeen thousand seconds to get to that point. I liked the story for sure, it just dragged where I felt was unnecessary, especially with the Lucy complications being thrown in there as an extra point of conflict for Avery and and Ryker's romantic evolution. I'm definitely in for more from the series except I don't know how much patience I'll have if book three is a sort of repeat of what we got here.

The Wildcat and his Witch

Ashe Winters is a master of suspense! We pick up right where A Fractured Truth ended and the mystery continues.

Avery has lots of anger but I love his snarktastic dialogue. I think he uses it to mask his pain and to hide how much he really feels; he breaks my heart. Although I think he’d be loathe to admit it, he has a soft spot for Ryker, which only adds to the lovely tension between the two. Ryker just wants to help but most times he inadvertently makes things worse, especially since he’s still so clueless about his powers. I hope in future books he’ll learn more about his powers and how to control them.

I really love Midge and Frank. They’re so brave and all of them are so very stubborn. I also want to know Zane’s story, even though he’s a bit of a jerk. My heart swelled when Avery allows Ryker to lean on him, such a beautiful scene. The hints of possessiveness that popped up between Ryker and Avery are scintillating, and I love watching their relationship slowly deepen.

“We all sit precariously on the edge of both good and bad.” Happily, we learn about Avery’s past and I absolutely loved the ending in this book. It ties the book together and makes me so excited for what’s to come next. Many questions remain on Lucy’s exact role, Emerret’s vileness, what will happen with their soul tether and how everything will ultimately affect Ryker and Avery. Full of wonderful suspense building, a page turner you won’t be able to put down; I can’t talk specifics but this book will make your heart jump into your throat and squeeze it before it returns to your chest.

Tethered Souls picks up right where Fractured Truth left off. So, if you are looking for a series stand-alone, this ain't it peeps. However, if you are looking for a reading experience and not just another story, look no further.

In book #2, the action is still running at 100mph, and the evil is more amped up and hits close to home this time. When it does Avery finds himself conflicted over emotions he can't believe he is having for humans he is meant to despise.

The tragedy effects Ryker in a different way and rather than being passive and running, he has decided to find a way to fight the evil that has come for his family.

Ryker and Avery are still skirting around their feelings, and Avery fears he only has feelings for Ryker because of the tether between them. The sooner it can be broken...The better! Or so Avery believes.

I adore the innocent naivete in Avery's character, even though he is centuries old. Inside him still lurks the heart of a young man, and I love that. His relationship with Ryker is wild and often volatile, but they are both there for each other when the situation calls for it. They keep each other grounded, and tethered or not, I think this is all part of their shared destiny.

Next book please!😍

Again, it should be noted there are no sex scenes, but the draw between Ryker and Avery is so emotionally charged, it leaves you satisfied. 💗

I received a free copy of this book from LesCourt in exchange for an honest review.🌺

I enjoyed reading this interesting, slow-burn vampire/human MM romance with a mystery/suspense undertone & this is the second book in the series “Consequences of Sin” & the continuation from the first book “Fractured Truth” into this book is smooth & flawless. The plot is well-paced & interesting with some unexpected situations. The characters are fairly well-developed & continue to develop through the story-line as the attractions begin to flare.
There is: a human male (Ryker) with strange powers, his loving & caring foster parents (Midge & Frank), his foster-brother who is a big burly cop (Zane), a snarky & arrogant vampire (Avery) still in trouble, witches, hunters, a villainous stalker with evil intentions (Emerret), a old vampire friend (Lucy aka Lucian), a old female vampire (Adara), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, humor, witchy magic, soul tethered, anger, adventure, action, danger, threats, murders, aggressive attacks, vandalism, attractions, verbal conflict, manipulations, a strange vampiric book, gate runes, devastating memories, temptation, vulnerability, a proposition, kissing & regrets. Sadly this book does end in a cliffhanger & I look forward to the next book with great anticipation.

We continue the story with Ryker and Avery still trying to dicipher the mystery surrounding Emmeret the witch and Lucian Molina, or Lucy as he's known.
Emmert dabbled in black magic and Avery is at the epicenter of it.
Ryker's foster parents have decided it would be safer for everyone to be together.
That decision has potentially deadly consequences because Ryker's foster mother Midge is in grave danger.
This causes friction between Ryker and his foster brother Zane as he blames Avery for all the danger they find themselves in.
Avery is dealing with the crushing guilt of innocent humans being murdered and injured because of who or what he is.
Ryker is dealing with the aftermath of having tied Avery to himself without truly knowing all the risks and consequences that entailed.
They're both dealing with jealousy for each other and being out of depth with one another.
The pull towards each other grows stronger as more time passes.
Avery also gives Ryker more information and reveals more about Emmeret and Lucian's roles in his past.
The pace towards the end is maddeningly slow and I'm biting my nails with anticipation awating the next installment.

It is freaking FABULOUS!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!
How am I supposed to just sit and wait for book#3? Impossible :(

I loved this story, it's a real page-turner, I couldn't get enough of Avery and Ryker! It has to be a pure magic because even though this was my first time with this author (book #1&2 in this series) I know I need more. The writing style is simply amazing, I got sucked into the story from the first chapter and right now I really miss both MCs. All characters, not only Avery and Ryk, are likable and their actions are believable and (almost always) understandable.

Avery is my favorite. He's smart, sexy and bitchy - my favorite combination :) He's adorable, a little wildcat as Ryker calls him.

The story is intriguing. There's a lot of books about vampires, witches and other supernaturals but this one is different and refreshing. It's far from predictable, there's always a surprise or a plot twist to make us crave more.

Tethered Souls is book 2 of Ashe’s Consequences of Sin series.
You do need to read book 1 in order to understand the full scope of Ryker and Avery. This book starts off pretty much right after book 1 ends. Avery and Ryker are recovering after Emmeret’s attack.

This book is definitely a page turner. Ashe leads you on with bits of information dropping like bread crumbs. I need to know every about Lucian and Emmeret and what they did to our leads, Ryker and Avery. They had to have done something.
You are wondering what’s going on with all the players on the field and Ashe does a good job of twisting the plot and adding enough to make you wonder who what where and when.
As for the relationship between Ryker and Avery, well it’s just as bumpy. Avery is still fighting the draw to Ryker. There is enough UST to keep you going and biting your nails.

So,, basically, if you like your mystery, slow burn, angry smol and cinnamon roll with a huge mix UST try this baby out.

Vampires, suspense, action, intrigue, danger and witch magic create an interesting read.  This is a complex and interesting story-line that is hard to put down. The world-building is good and you are drawn into the story.  The characters are multi-dimensional and some are frustrating with unknown motives. The writing is really good.

This is very much a slow, slow burn story for Ryker and Avery.  We get lots of story, some answers and even more questions.

This is book two of the Consequences of a Sin series and i am excited to read book three!!  This book does end on a cliffhanger!  This book is a continuation of a single story-line and characters it is definitely not a stand-alone read.  i do hope that book three is coming soon and resolves this story-line for our MC's.  There are so many more stories that could be brought to play.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

Tethered Souls is the second book in the Consequences of a Sin series by Ashe Winters.
This series is a Paranormal, Urban Fantasy that serves the reader a delicious dish of action, drama, suspense and slow burning heat. This book continues the story began in book one, the consequences of actions made then and further following the vampire Avery and the human, with witch powers, Ryker. These two souls are now tethered together in a way neither foresaw and they must figure out what that means and how to make it benefit them before they destroy themselves or the danger surrounding them does it for them.

Well written, interesting and captivating story, fascinating characters.... this series has me hooked and this book just solidified by addiction even further. I cant wait to see what await us in future books.

The long-awaited second chapter in the Consequences of a Sin series was, for the most part, worth the wait. I say for the most part because this installment ends in a gut-punch of a cliffhanger. I know it's a multi-part adventure, and I'm prepared for that, but this was like walking into wall.

Fortunately the next volume is, according to the author, in the pipeline to be released much more quickly, and the rest of the story won't take nearly as long to complete.

This romance between a vampire and a witch-ish guy is slow, slow, SLOW burn, with barely any physical contact, but the tension is insane. I'm in love with Avery and Ryker and I want more NOW! *I received an arc of this book.*

Great sequel

This second book in the series was great. Fast paced, full of action and with great characters.

The plot thickens a lot and now I have even more questions.

I love the interactions between Ryker and Avery. Their story and bond strengthens as well. It is still very slow burn, but the book was so captivating that it's ok. I might wait for the next 2-3 books to be published before continuing or I am going to burst from curiosity in between each book :-)

I can't wait for the next one and see where Ryker and Avery take us (and hopefully answer some of the questions)

Tethered Soul is the second book in the series by Ahse Winters. There were so many twists and turns that I had to go back to read the first book to make sure that I hadn’t missed anything. Ryker and Avery have to learn how to deal with being tethered and to trust one another. The book is exciting, snarky, slow-burn, and I love the interaction between Avery and Zane. Midge and Frank had me smiling. The way they can make grown men stop in tracks was hilarious to me. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to this one, but the characters are frustrating. I understand them to a point, but the plot is dragged out because the characters are difficult. They fight and make their lives a million times harder than it needs to be. They have a long way to go to make a relationship out of their crazy. While I can see how they're a good match and understand they're not currently in a position to enter into a normal, stable relationship, their unwillingness to communicate makes it difficult to root for them. I hope with the next book they get better.

Amazing!!!

So worth the wait!! I love the way the author is doing this. Keeping the action up and the information flowing but not giving us all of it so we are still in suspense. You see the growth and changes to Avery and Ryker but know there is way more to go. It’s like putting a puzzle together but having to search for the pieces. I am loving this so much and can’t wait for more.

This is the second book in The Consequences of a Sin Series. This book is NOT a stand-alone book and you will need to read the first book before this one. This book was okay but there are still way too many unanswered questions at the end of this book which again ends in a cliffhanger. Avery and Ryker are the MC’s of this book. I will push forward and read the next book and hope for the best. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Another great and fast read in this paranormal series from Ashe Winters. This time we’re getting a little more depth from our heroes Avery and Ryker and a bit more heat. After tethering their souls without thought of after effects in book one, Ryker can seem to stop imagining kissing Avery, and the prickly vampire might not mind it so much now. The plot thickens with the murderer, it might not be as random as it seemed and the tension mounts. Can’t wait for the next one!

This was just as good as the first book. I am a huge sucker for snarky characters aka Avery. Paired with sweet bumbling Ryker, these two are up there with some of my favorite characters. That’s what I’ve loved most about the series so far...the characters. They are all very well written!!! The storyline is just as compelling as the first story!!

This fantastic second entry in the fascinating Consequences of a Sin series continues with all of the mystery, mayhem, madness, magic, snark, danger, evil, and SUPER SLOW BURNING chemistry between Ryker and Avery. It answered some of my questions, but added a lot more. The cliffhanger ending left me dangling, but I can't wait to see what happens next.

We get more of the mystery, but not really. And one of my favorite characters is injured badly. Something good needs to happen soon or I'm giving up on this series.
