Nice book that answers various questions relating to plants, animals, and food among other things. This is a fun way to learn about many topics. The range of things covered in this book is pretty large, giving a little bit of information about each subject. Paired with fun illustrations, it provides an engaging learning experience. Good for fans of The Magic School Bus and those looking to learn about things like cold-blooded animals, desert animals, and the chemistry of cooking.

Each page also includes a question for the reader to answer in order to think about the information they just learned (with sample answers provided in the back). There is also a quiz at the end of the book with multiple choice and true/false questions.

This is a fun book simply because you get to take a trip with zany Ms. Frizzle on her magic school bus. This book definitely seems geared towards students that are middle to upper elementary. The only problem that I have with this book is that it covers almost too many topics without even having a table of contents. Just a few are, habitats, sound, friction, baking chemistry, butterflies, etc. Since it is an upper level reading book, I was able to pull some compound words from it. I used it as a fun tool to pick out the compound words from the story and put them on the pocket chart.

I wasn't sure if our girls would like this book. It's not a story, it's more like a recap of a bunch of episodes, in a question and answer format. But they seemed to really enjoy the quiz-like format and really showed how much they've retained through reading these books. They were both eager to take the test at the end and had fun reminiscing about the various books we've read from this series.
