Wolf found Rose harbored more secrets than expected, and the deeper he pulls her into his life, the more he likes it.
---- Once a man’s been embedded in the bloody aftermath of fight after fight, no relief in sight—he’s forever changed.
Wolf came home from overseas to find his world askew. Husband no longer, he and his ex had agreed before his last deployment that they were better friends than partners. His position as father was confusing and rewarding all in the same breath.
He’s got a lot on his plate personally, and even more with the Borderline Freaks and the challenges they’ve hit lately.
He just doesn’t have time to make room for a relationship.
Raised in the south, Wall Street Journal & USA TODAY bestselling author MariaLisa deMora learned about the magic of books at an early age. Every summer, she would spend hours in the local library, devouring books of every genre. Self-described as a book-a-holic, she says "I've always loved to read, but then I discovered writing, and found I adored that, too. For reading...if nothing else is available, I've been known to read the back of the cereal box."
A member of Romance Writers of America, deMora has penned a variety of stories, with five established series that include motorcycle romance, veteran repatriation, and time travel, as well as a romantic standalone, dark suspense, and a legal thriller. Her website is filled with links and information, as well as extras like character interviews, playlists, poetry, and trailer videos!
Her short bio reads, "Plate-spinner / cat herder at work; totally geeked author; single mom in the thick of autism at home; hockey freak; wanna-be hiker; usta-be/on-again EQ gamer."
This was a quick paced insta-love styled romance with a protective and caring Hero claiming the strong and independent woman, that proved, on more than one occasion, she can handle herself quite well in a dangerous situation.
Wolf instantly taken with Rose and her quiet demeanor captivated him. Rose liked to keep her head down, so life can be a smooth ride without hiccups. But a life together for Wolf and Rose started on a high neither anticipated.
For a quick read, this story had a high level of intensity.
The latest book in the Borderline Freaks series is all for Wolf and Rose.
With this being the 3rd book in the series, we have met these characters before. Rose is hiding some interesting secrets and Wolf's life is was not quite what I expected either. These books are all interconnected as well. There is some background drama that isn't quite resolved and with each book, it gets a little bit more dangerous.
Rose and Wolf make for a great couple. Tons of chemistry and they just work together. Their courting was fast, but add into that a gunfight and extreme circumstance it made it believable and work for their story. Rose was pretty bada$$ and Wolf, while a take-charge kind of guy rolled with the punches.
I am excited about the next book though because the drama is heating up and I am ready for some vengeance.
We loved Wolf and Rose they were a cute couple and were a perfect match for one another in every way.
The chemistry between these two was quite evident even though they had been dancing around each other for months but, once they gave into their attraction for one another it was fast tracked baby !
We really enjoyed the story from cover to cover along with its characters .The stories plot was a continuation of Blades and Jenn's story as those prospects we not done with messing with the club or its women yet again, making it more intense and more intriguing.
"This is our kind of read and we loved it !"
So loving this series there are so many great characters that we fell in love with......
I’m loving this series Borderline Freaks MC. This is the third in the series. I highly recommend you read them in order... they are so good you won’t wanna miss out on any of them. Wolf and Rose. I loved these two characters. They are both strong likeable characters and I was really hoping they’d find what they needed to be complete. After that ending I’m so looking forward to reading the next book. A great read.
I am completely wrecked on one hand, but extremely happy on another. The series is absolutely awesome and each one gets better and better. Wolf and Rose touched my heart the most so far. This one leaves you hanging and I was talking out loud, not so nicely LOL. Can't wait to read the final one. 10 + stars from me
I just can’t get enough of the men that make up the Borderline Freaks MC series. This club is made up of ex-servicemen who have banded together to not only help themselves heal but to honor those that gave their all. These men ride hard and love harder, be it the love of our country, their MC brothers of the women in their lives. The storyline is well written with a lot of touch your heart moments and a cast of characters you can’t help but love with all your might.
Wolf is a tough, well on the outside, harded ex-serviceman that has finally spotted a woman, Rose, that checks off all the right boxes. Rose is a waitress at the local diner. She is also a badass with a secret past. Rose too feels the spark between her and Wolf but one huge misunderstanding leaves her pushing him away before they even have a chance to start. But when he tried to find out what happened, Wolf doesn’t understand a word she’s saying or what went wrong that would have her shutting him out. With all the troubles going on with the club, (sorry I can’t explain them, as I don’t do spoilers - you’ll need to read the first books of the series), Wolf’s time becomes split between the club and his personal life. But when the two overlap, that’s a whole new ballgame.
This is an exceptional book/storyline. I will go out on a limb and worn you it has a very troubled ending, but I am hoping the next/final book of the series will ease my emotions. Awesome series and Lack of In-Between is an outstanding addition. I highly recommend grabbing up the heartfelt, thrilling quick reads that make up the Borderline Freaks MC series, you won’t regret it. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars.
Lack of In-between (Borderline Freaks MC #3) by MariaLisa deMora 4 stars M/F Biker Romance Triggers: While I won't give away the ending, know that it's somewhat disturbing and a little bit of a cliff hanger. I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Wolf is home and trying to figure out how to move forward from his time in the service. While his marriage didn't survive, he loves his daughter with everything inside him. And, his relationship with his ex is friendly, but they are able to be friends.
Rose loves her job. But, she lost a lot while serving her country and while she might not be using her considerable skills, she loves the family she's found at the diner. Even her attraction to Wolf has been a pleasant distraction. But, Rose would never poach on another woman's man and she isn't going to start now.
I like how patient they both were with each other. Their commonalities also made them ideal for a relationship. Wolf and Rose have to learn to trust in each other and to learn that love can heal a lot for them.
You still have people who have it out for the Boarderline Freaks and Rose and Wolf will have their share of troubles too. But, this group of bikers have each other's backs and nothing will get in the way of that.
Wolf and Rose's relationship might have started from afar, but both will have to take a chance if they want to find happiness. I enjoyed this story a lot and really like these two as a couple. They compliment each other with their skills and personalities.
There is something very special about this series and you will see this when you read it. There is something also very special about this book, this story. Such a well written story that will capture your attention as well as your heart. Wolf and Rose's story begins a bit complicated but once these two begin talking and letting each other in on their stories, their hearts open a bit more and what you get is two people who are a match made in heaven. They are so perfect for each other and understand each other so perfectly that you can almost feel the intensity of their feelings. But when trouble comes blowing into the diner where Rose works, Wolf sees a side of his woman that he wasn't expecting but recognizes immediately. But the danger doesn't end with that incident, noooo, there is more action, mystery and intrigue on their horizon as well as heartbreak.
We also meet Wolf's young daughter and see an instant friendship bloom between her and Rose. Then there is the chemistry between Wolf and Rose; and what chemistry it is! These two certainly have the pages sizzling like bacon on the griddle in the diner! Keep those fans handy cause you will need it!
I cannot put into words how much I have enjoyed this series and how much I can hardly wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book, this series to anyone who loves MC reads, as well as Military Veteran reads.
Another fabulous, exciting read by the uber talented MariaLisa deMora. I'm hooked to the Borderline Freaks MC, so I'm praying this series NEVER ends to be honest, and I know I know, it's very unlikely, but the heart wants what the heart wants! This is the story of Wolf & Rose, and it's quite the doozie, as both have some issues, him with relationships and/or time for them, and her, with the kind of secrets which don't make friends. I would LOVE to tell you more from a selfish standpoint, but that's what it would be, just selfish, as you'll enjoy it so much more with no one else's thoughts on the awesome journey. Both these two people were likable characters (actually Rose was that instant lovable character for me) that I didn't get enraged at one or the other, and their chemistry was HOT! Both need to find what completes them to heal, and it seems like they are to each other just what the doctor ordered. The intensity is thick, while there are some big twists which set my f-bombs to dropping! So, here's the deal, if you want to know how it all ends up, the just one click this story that I LOVED so much! I CANNOT WAIT for more in this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
The third book in the Borderline Freaks MC series is another amazing story. While these stories are fairly short they are each a satisfying, emotional story with characters who have served our country or community as individuals and continue to support their communities and the BFMC family.
Wolf came back from his last tour to get a mutually agreed divorce. He still had his daughter and was a big part of her life. He was an officer in the club as well as his job with little time for romance. That is until Rose served his meal at the diner which became his go-to place until he got up enough nerve to ask her out.
When an ongoing threat to the club and their friends and families touched Rose, Wolf found his courage and determined to protect her. She didn't ask for it or want it but she did want Wolf. Histories of pain and violence only brought them closer. Would the danger to the club ruin their chance to build something?
The story is touching, emotional, steamy and fulfilling. Another wonderful story.
I cant pick a favorite with these amazing men in Borderline Freaks MC!!!
Wolf, or rather Paul if you're lucky, is a veteran like most of his brothers in BFMC. Hes your typical tall, dark and handsome with the ever so sexy edge to him. Paul hasn't been one to pursue many relationships. That is until a Rose has him drinking a lot more coffee.
Rose has been working at the diner for awhile now. It's easy work, the biggest mistakes being a wrong order. That is until a certain MC starts making regular stops. Rose's world is about the change, but theres someone willing to catch her if she let's him.
Be still my heart, Wolf may just be my demise. Hes a man of little words but when he says something, I swoon. Life throws curve balls that bring people together in the right way at the right time. Rose and Paul are perfectly matched. I couldnt think of a better pairing, even with so many bumps in the road. Fair warning though, life takes nasty turns and this does end of a cliffhanger! But fear not, 2 weeks is all you have to wait!
Anyone who is a avid reader of MariaLisa deMora knows that she writes male characters that are fairly alpha and female characters that aren't wilting roses, but definitely need a little bit of a hand getting out of trouble.
Enter Rose, a female who knows her own mind, is more than capable of handling a high pressure situation AND can safely fire a gun. With one true exception (Alace Sweets) Rose would be to date our most Alpha female deMora character and Wolf loves this.
Wolf is a man that's old enough and been through enough to know his own mind, listens to his instincts/gut and knows a woman worth his time.
Smash these two together with some drama, danger and attraction and we've got the makings of a lethal character combo.
Though their story is short we get everything required to make book 3 a more than enjoyable read. I was so sad to see them go, but I know that we'll see them again.
'Lack of In-Between' broke me. Wolf's love for Rose broke me. Rose's love for Wolf broke me. Wolf is strong (come on of course he is!), kind, loving, and walking talking sex on a stick....YUM! But Rose....Rose is no damsel waiting on her knight to pull her out of distress! Oh No! Rose is certified Amazing! What I continually find that I love so much about MariaLisa deMora and the couples that she introduces us to, is how they find the most soul deep need that each of them have and then fight through whatever it takes to meet that need. Loneliness, pain, fear, self-loathing.....it doesn't matter....they work to overcome it. Wolf and Rose, their story is not done here. Neither are Blade and Jenn's or Monk and Amanda's. Neptune is next and even though I know that they will all pull together and hold each other up my heart hurts for the pain I know they are going through to find their end. 'See You In Valhalla ' ...... I NEED IT FAST!
Lack of In-between is book 3 in MariaLisa deMora's Borderline Freak series. You are either in or you are out, no in-between. I love how I can always find the gem somewhere inside her books. Another 5 star read. All the feels - tears, giggles and steam 🔥.
Rose is a waitress at the diner where it all begain. She is friends with Monk's ol' lady. She leaves Paul a token during their first meeting. He carries it with him always now. Paul, aka Wolf, gave the two FNGs their beat outs. Once Wolf and Rose clear up a misunderstanding, they are both all in. I love how we find out Rose is such a bada$$. I love even more how Wolf recognizes it and supports her to be more than a waitress. Rose's protectiveness of Wolf's daughter made my heart ache. So fast she became a momma bear protecting it's cub. Oh lady, that ending - my heart is broken for the Freaks. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
This is the third in the series but could definitely be read as standalone, but why would you want to do that?
We get to go along with Rose and Wolf on this ride, and it's a prelude to the fourth in the series as far as plot goes. These two are a perfect pair, both former military and the chemistry has been brewing since the first book.
These books are a quick read, but full of great chemistry, dialogue and action. Recommend! This is the third in the series but could definitely be read as standalone, but why would you want to do that?

I am falling harder and harder for these Borderline Freaks men and their ladies. They are badass men that fall for some truly awesome ladies and I can't get enough. The threat to the MC is building and I can't wait to get the last in this series.
Now usually I can't help but to fall in love with the male main character, in this one you are going to love Rose so much, maybe in faster and more than you will for Wolf. She is a badass in her own right and while its usually only the men who are the battle worn veterans this time she is too and getting her story is one that will break your heart as well.
This is a series you don't want to miss and I am thrilled to be reading each and every one. I can't wait for Neptune's story next and the conclusion to this series!!! I am eager to get it but I will miss this group of characters for sure.
Favorite of the series! Well written and has your attention from the start. Wolf is a veteran and member of the Borderline Freaks MC. With all his responsibilities and being busy all the time it doesn't leave alot of room for a romantic relationship. Little did he know things would change when meeting Rose at the diner. Despite the instant chemistry between them there was some miscommunications that had to be worked out. Wolf and Rose are more alike than anyone knows and fit so well together in all ways. Their relationship is steamy. You can't help but fall in love with this couple. There's also a mystery that has to be solved and some trouble brewing in town. With an ending leaving you wanting more. Can't wait!!
#IloveWolf Oh my word, I loved this story... Wolf and Rose was just too much for me. From the first time he saw her he knew she was someone he wanted to be around, someone he could see his life spending with. When I started this book, I was like oh my word she has such bad luck. She kept getting robbed and held at gun point, WTH.. lol But everytime Wolf was there, not that she needed it, because Rose was a bad ass herself and could look after herself. But underneath it Wolf knew she had a secret hurt that needed to be let go... And he was just the man to help her find her true path.
Sweet, alpha male, lots of action and no OW Drama... Loved it from beginning to end. And man that ending not cool... Not Cool at all!
I was pulled right into this short story. This story contains secrets, love, heartbreak, and pain.
If you have not already read the below I recommend reading them first: Service and Sacrifice (Borderline Freaks MC #1) More Than Enough (Borderline Freaks MC #2)
This is Rose and Wolf‘s story. Wolf has a lot going on in his life and he is trying to find his way but in the middle of that he wants Rose. Does he have time to deal with secrets and trying to have a relationship? Or will his child and his club take up all the time and end up having him push Rose away for good?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
A veteran, Wolf comes home to join the Borderline Freaks MC, his life has forever changed and he has been coasting, until he meets Rose. She is a badass waitress at the local diner. But Rose has secrets of her own, ones she is not ready to share. Wolf and Rose do have an instant attraction but have to work through some misconceptions before they realize they are perfect for each other. They connect in all aspects of their lives and become an unstoppable team. And their relationship is steamy. There is a mystery that will need to be solved before the Borderline Freaks can rest easy which just heightens the anticipation of what is to come.
Almost too short—didn’t want it to end Rose is more than she appears. She is friends with Jenn, Blade’s Old Lady and fellow waitress. When the diner is shot up, Wolf is there to defend and protect, but Rose has the shotgun before he even realizes it. Rose is no shrinking Violet. Wolf has an ex-wife and a near-teenaged daughter. There is so much more to these characters that I want to know! There is something brewing in town and Wolf and Rose are in the middle of it. This story continues the Borderline Freaks MC world. Wolf and his brethren are working hard to do what they do. I kept waiting for the “other shoe to drop” which happens in the Epilogue.
This story touched my deeply. Both Wolf and Rose were done with relationships until they met. I loved Wolf/Paul's protection of Rose and his love for his daughter. His friendships with the BFMC crew and his ex-wife gave him the support he needed to move on. Rose was a strong woman fighting her own demons, yet she was kind, smart, and willing to take a chance. I was glad for their HEA, but now I need to wait for the next story to carry on the backstory. I love the BFMC as they are a band of brothers by war, and all their stories have me in tears on occasion and smiling at other times.
I received an ARC of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Wolf and Rose weren't a couple I saw coming, but I really enjoyed their story. Though it doesn't seem so in the beginning, Rose is a badass and I really grew to love her character. She is one of those onion characters who you gradually get to know as all of her layers are peeled away. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next in this series. This is the first book in this series that leaves of with a cliffhanger. And this book needs to be read in series order to really understand all that happened leading into this story.
Wolf and Rose meet at the diner where Rose works, they are both veterans. When a prospect decide to cause trouble at the diner, for being thrown out of the club, Wolf finds out how bad~ass Rose really is. this is the third book in the series. should read in order. This was a great read...each book gets better than the one before,...I didnt want it to end...and OMG that ending. cant wait 2 weeks for book #4. Props, thumbs up and high fives to MLD love your writing WE NEED MORE ;)
This one will be quick but not without emotions that will leave you antsy at times. These guys worm their way into the reader's heart with their personality and heart. Wolf will devour us as he takes us through his story. Then there is Rose whom is one also like her name. Watching and reading the two of them with everything else melts you like butter. Learning will be forefront also in this . There is also drama that leaks in at times but is handled. Can not get enough of this MC.
I absolutely love this series and I believe each book is better than the last. Wolf and Rose stoke my heart!! Rose is a waitress and Wolf feels the need to protect her because she has s**t luck, but she can protect herself. Rose is no damsel in distress but the secrets she is keeping could ruin their relationship before it has a chance to get going. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!
Wolf has wanted Rose since he met her at the diner she and Jenn worked at and a misunderstanding almost makes that not happen then mistakes from the Borderline Freaks MC past almost costs them a future but Wolf and the guys won't let that happen plus Rose is one bad ass woman!!
My heart can not take the last part of this book but I know it will all be layed out for us in the following stories.
Marialisa had produced another outstanding addition to this series. I love reading about exmilitary men and Wolf did not dissapoint me. As a matter of fact I want my own Wolf! Rose is also exmilitary and is one amazingly strong woman. They fit together so well, completing each other. The ending left me wanting more! I cant wait to see what happens next
This series just gets better and better! The more in-depth we get with the members of the BFMC the more we see the layers that make them inseparable brothers. Rose and Paul (Wolf) made an amazing addition to this series. I loved Rose’s ability to be a bad a$$ and Wolf’s soft side. Cannot wait to see what happens in the next one!
Lack of In-Between is book 3 in the Boarderline Freaks MC series and my favourite so far. Wolf and Rose have more in common that they realise with both being ex military. This is a lovely story of a love that will last the test of time, it also leaves you needing book 4 as soon as possible. Another great book by this author.
