Blackwater Pack #3

Claiming My Co-Worker

Rate this book
I wasn't looking for more than a quick and dirty rebound - so why do I have all of these feelings?

I know that I can be gruff and blunt, and I've never really been the romantic type. Still, I thought we were happy together. It turns out my ex didn’t see things the same way. He cleared out my bank account and skipped town with another man, leaving me to pick up the pieces of our broken dreams alone.

Let’s get one thing clear: I'm not ready for another relationship. But that doesn't mean I'm not up for a little distraction with an attractive coworker.

It was only supposed to be one night. A few drinks. Just a way to release the pressure.

And then I knotted him and discovered that he was my fated mate.

Now we're being sent on a work assignment, just the two of us - several months in close contact. We’ll be working together, eating together, and living together.

I hate it that he makes me feel so vulnerable.

I hate the thought of letting him go even more.

Welcome to Blackwater, Montana - a small town with a big personality, where shifters and humans coexist. Claiming My Co-Worker is a dual point of view mpreg shifter novel with a guaranteed happy ending. The third in this series, this book can also be read as a standalone.

AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.

Claiming My Coworker by author Liam Kingsley is the third book in the Blackwater Pack series. This book is written in Dual POV. What I like about this series is they do tie together but you can read each as a standalone and understand them just fine. You do meet characters from other books which is nice for us that are reading the entire series.
Sutton: works at Blackwater Design Group. Works long hours. He has a great boss that makes them relax and bond together. Sutton is a good character he is mellow and a hard worker.
Jace thinks Sutton is open and sweet. Happy go lucky and never a bad word for anyone. Everyone gravitates toward Sutton. Jace is the opposite. He keeps to himself and keeps his secrets tightly to himself. Sutton is always making an effort to get to know him. But he just wants to be alone.
He has been hurt in the past and is not ready to be with people or anyone special.
Sutton though is harder than he thought to resist.
I liked these two together. They are mates, but they have to be friends first. There is a lot going on especially for Jace but once the HEA happens I found this story to be adorably sweet. I cannot wait for more from this series in the future.

I don't usually review a book until I am done with it but this one is really not a good read because of the alpha. I am 2 hr and 20 min with 3 hrs left so almost half way done and I detest the alpha. He is so whiny and weak and pitying himself. He just got out of a long relationship and just can't seem to find the strength to try to have a relationship with his fated mate. I am sure his wolf is pi$$ed off at him. This story also has a light D/s theme in bed which is not believable because of the whiny alpha. I think his name is Chase, Jace, whatever. Don't care enough to remember his name because he is just not likeable.

I think that Sutton should move on and find a real alpha who wants to be with him and leave this loser alpha behind. If I can't like or empathize with the main characters half way through, this is not a good read for me.

I typically like the books I choose to read, especially in the middle of a series I am enjoying, so this book really threw me. I usually finish a book I can't get into because I want to see if I change my mind by the end but just don't have the strength for it.

A great addition to the Blackwater Pack series with a different trope explored. This one sees Sutton and work colleague, Jace, spend several months together in Miami on a project after having a one night stand after a work's night out. Jace has made it clear he's not available for more due to a recent break up, even after discovering that they are fated mates.
Sutton has crushed on Jace for over 2 years and is happy to go with whatever Jace wants in regards to a relationship, even if it's just physical after their discovery. Both men are very skittish towards relationships meaning they understand where the other is coming from in relation to wariness and trust issues.
Overall it is an enjoyable read. The two are a perfect match in the bedroom and surprisingly, at work. They make a great team and get along really well. Jace is very hesitant for anything more but also doesn't lead Sutton on, letting him know where he stands which I liked. We occasionally interact with a few other pack members but the main bulk of their story is spent with the two men away in Miami. The story is paced well, allowing for days/weeks to pass when it fits with the narration.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Co-workers and friendly but commitment isn't on the table for either Sutton or Jace. An extended work assignment in Miami changes everything. You see there was a one-night hookup with the fateful knotting but both supposedly being adults know that nothing is going to come of this night of passion. Yet Jace knows that such a response can only mean "Mate". Jace at present just wants to "have fun" and not be bothered with permanent commitment of any kind. You see Jace has been betrayed and abandoned once before but never again. Now comes the Miami work assignment. Each must deal with the consequences of closely working together and try to avoid the repeat of being together again. Thus unwinds the story of "no commitment" but what's a guy to do? Just read this 3rd in the series to discover how it all works out to a HEA. I was given an ARC for my voluntary review.

Jace is absolutely not looking for a relationship.
He's been burned by his ex and all he wants is a quick and dirty one night stand, no questions asked.
Sutton has had a crush on his coworker Jace for years but he's also nursing a wounded heart after his ex broke his.
She Jace suggests a quickie, Sutton figures he'll take what he can get if it's the only way to have Jace, even if it's only once.
What should have been a one and done turns into so much more and it has bought men running for cover in order to protect themselves.
I do feel as though Jace caused Sutton unnecessary turmoil and Sutton just allowed it.
There was definitely a lack of communication that had me wanting to smack them both upside their heads.
Eventually, they get their act together for a HEA.

So enjoyable

This is a series that seems to be hitting all the right notes each couples is different but leading on from characters in the last book, so could be read as a stand-alone, but you may get spoilers if you don’t read in order.

Jace and Sutton are co-workers that find out their mates when blowing off some steam, they both have trust issues that get worked on over the course of this steamy read. It’s my favourite of the series so far.

This is the third book in The Blackwater Pack Series. An interesting book with good writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters sweet. The characters were developed and thought out. Jace and Sutton are the MC’s of this book. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Working it Out

Sutton and Jace worked in the same office. Sutton has always thought that Jace was a hunk, Jace thought Sutton was a sweet guy that every liked. Getting together after an office party, things went sideways. Jace wasn't looking for a relationship, he had just gotten out of one. Finding out they were mates made him run even harder, but Sutton was up for the chase. I enjoyed their story, even though there were typos.

Erm... well, it was not good. Like "eye-rolling-facepalming-what-the-hell" not good. Sappy, overwhelming, teenage girl style.
However, the guy who read it, the narrator.. ohhhh, he was SO good that I lasted almost an hour. I had never heard him before and i just hope he reads better stuff too. Pure eargasm.

Jace and Sutton are sweet together. Jace just broke up with his boyfriend of 6 years and Sutton was suppose to be a one night fling however, they realize they are mates.
Jace ran hot and cold and Sutton was extremely patient. Jace finally got the closure he needed from his ex and realized what he had with Sutton was the real deal.

Claiming My Co-Worker is the third book in the Blackwater Pack series by Liam Kingsley. This is a coworkers romance with the added fun of Fated Mates. There is drama from exes, hurts from the past but the pull of fate. Its got sweetness and also heat. A fun read overall.

Pretty good!

Loved Sutton! He was so cheerful and optimistic, but also sexy as all get out. Poor Jace never stood a chance. He tried, but Sutton was right there. I'm loving this series. It seems to be getting better and better!!😍

I had a hard time with this book. I thought Jace was a bit of an ass at times. And I thought Sutton was too forgiving. I did like their happy ending though. It just wasn't my favorite.

Good

Two broken hearts, looking for fun and found forever...
Really good story, best part for me is basically the mic drop to the ex, the only negative thing is that Sutton was kind of a pushover.

🐺Just a drink or six and they're rarin' to get up close and oh, so personal!😉

💞A good story, with Sutton and Jace two🐺 shifter guys burned in previous relationships looking, first for temporary release and then ...! I liked that these fellows were so compatible at work as well as after-hours. Have to admit that I felt Jace was an insensitive user for a while, but he grew on me. Sutton was an enthusiastic sweetie, but author Liam Kingsley gave him some depth with a tinge of insecurity and sadness resulting from his previous relationship.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the plot and the action was 🔥🔥, but it just felt a tad slow.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

This was the best one yet!!

This one has a lot we can relate to. What Sutton and Jace have been through and felt is something many of us have dealt with though the circumstances differ. I loved the fast heat slow emotional build up. It was a nice twist change than the usual. That’s fated mates for you lol.

Another great add to the series. Jace and Sutton are up next in this crazy Universe! I love co-worker books; getting to see how they interact with each other on a both sides. Jace and Sutton have a lot of issues to deal with personally and together. Loved Sutton and his whole personality and want to read more about him. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

This book three in the series is about embrace your future and the opportunity to be happy, letting the past go. Sutton and Jace as a couple cause me a lot of angst because their relationship was frustratingly casual without accepting that they were one for each other. Even with all the angst to make everything more interesting, the story is easy to read, and had a lot of incredibly hot scenes. Wonderful reading!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Sutton the sap and Jace the pragmatist are mates. Neither man expected it and Jace fought it, until he couldn’t.

Sweet story, nicely written with truly likable characters (except for a certain ex). Enjoying the books so far. I think this story will standalone if the reader doesn’t want to commit to the whole series, but the books are fun so why not read them all.

I received an arc of this book.

Sutton has always liked Jace but never moved on it since he had been with someone. Well, Jace's ex leaves him. What was supposed to just be one night turns complicated when they discover they are fated mates. What I really like is Sutton understands that Jace is still reeling from his recent break up and needs time. I think what makes this story even better is they are not surrounded by their pack while they are working through everything.

I didn't like this one as the much as the last one. I think Fin and Vaughn's story was the best of the 3 books I've read so far, honestly. This one is probably me least favorite. It was still good, though. I liked Jace and Sutton but this one was harder for me to get through. It started out good. I liked the vulnerability of Jace and how Sutton was friendly and outgoing with him. Their first night together was also pretty hot. Then Jace starting acting cold towards Sutton and Sutton just dealt with it instead of confronting Jace about it. The sex scenes got really repetitive, lots of spanking. The middle dragged a bit for me, and the ending was just ok.
