Rate this book
A child relates the things he likes best about his father--and the best thing of all? It's that "my dad is extra special, just because he's mine!" A perfect book for Father's Day!

There are lots of wonderful things about Dad, as told by a young narrator in this rhyming 8 x 8 paperback. The father plays games, gives hugs, teaches right from wrong, cheers on his child, goes for rides in the car, reads bedtime stories over and over, scares monsters away, listens to problems, and tells jokes.

But here's what is the best of all,
even better than the other nine.
My dad is extra special--
just because he's mine!

I read the book called, “The Best 10 Things about my Dad", to my cousin, Carter. I thought that it was a good book and Carter thought it was a really good book. Carter said that the dad in the book sounds like his dad and his dad is that awesome! I thought it was cool for him to say that about his dad. I told his dad what Carter had said and that made him happy.

The book was about a little boy that loved his dad. His dad would play catch, tickle him, and shoot hoops with him. His dad also had many trophies. The little boy loves his dad and he wants to grow up to be just like his dad. His dad is there for him when he is sad or mad, his dad doesn't tell him to stop crying; he embraces it and tells him it will be alright. The little boy knows that the best thing of all is that he loves his dad because he is his son.

This book; The Best 10 Things about my Dad, was a great book because it taught a lot of lessons. It teaches kids what their dads do for them and the type of relationship father and sons can have. I recommend this book to the age group of 3-6 years old because it is a book for younger children. Beginner readers can read this to themselves or to someone else. My cousin, Carter, is six and he really liked it. He told his dad about the book and now it's time to tell your dad!

I believe this book to be an excellent guide for new fathers to read. "Anyone can be a "father, "but it takes a special person to be a "Dad." This is an excellent guide for a father who wants to become a "Dad."

This book is contemporary realistic fiction because this is what dads can be like to a kid. It is also a poetry book because it rhymes and has rhythm. This book is about a boy listing his favorite things about his dad. For example, his dad cheers him on at events and reads to him at night. This book is suited for pre-k to 2nd graders. It's very relatable and describes a father and son's relationship really well. Even though I am a girl, I was able to relate to it also because my dad does some of the same things the character's dad does.

With simple rhyming text a boy describes 10 things he appreciates about his dad. Father's Day tie-in, also naming feelings and building lists.
The dad in the clear and bright illustrations has red hair and light skin; the son has black hair and light skin.

I loved reading this with my son, he read some of it aloud for me, and then sat with his Dad and read it with him.

A lovely early reader, for those who have progressed beyond the simpler fare.

It's a cute quick book to read after school if you don't have much time. It's rhyming too.
