Fun story about a family traveling in the national parks. Geared to middle grade school children. The side bars are interesting and the illustrations, photos, and maps are pretty great, but the plot is pretty forced. The family is sweet and nice, but the characters are very flat and the dialogue isn't very realistic. The series idea is great, though, and we're enjoying it.
Great book!! The family went on lots and lots of very long hikes. When they were going to Bryce Canyon, it was funny because the boy in the back said, "It takes FOREVER to get there! How much more time?", and they had only been driving for 15 minutes! They went on the Angels' Landing hike, and so did my mom and dad and some of my uncles! I think Bryce would be one of the perfect national parks for us to go to because it's not so hot and it has some hikes that aren't too long (I learned this from the book).
This book was amazing. I have been to Zion but not Bryce. I would like to visit the Narrows. I did not expect such an amazing book. I hope this next one I am reading will be just as good as this one.
