Kiddo quite enjoyed this, maybe because of the mommy-baby journey. The mom in me was like, stop disturbing the baby's sleep!!

I like that I can teach about different animal habitats with this book. The mommy mouse is in search of a safe place for her baby to sleep and every time she thinks there is a spot, she realizes that it is not a fit or safe place for them because at the end they go back to where their original home was. Children can learn where different animals like moles, owls,and frogs live and what they like to sleep in. It also teaches how even mommy animals take good care of their babies.

Extension activity: It would be great to go on a nature walk with the kids and look for potential homes for certain animals and ask them what places they think would be fit for a baby mouse.

I (and the girls) love the aesthetics of this book. The moon and stars have a tactful texture and sparkle and all the colors have a moonlit quality and they both work together to be really pretty. It's almost soothing to look at. The story is fine too. A few different animals advise Mother Mouse to lay her baby mouse down to sleep in the types of beds they prefer (the mole says underground, the owl says up in a tree). But of course, the Little Mouse sleeps best where mice usually sleep- under a tree by the field. The mice are drawn so darn cute that I'd ask them to sleep in my house.

This cute story about a mother mouse looking for a safe place for her baby to sleep explores different animals' homes. This book would be a good way for young children to learn that each animal has its own appropriate home, or habitat, just like we live in our own unique homes. Just because a certain home (or anything else) works for one being, doesn't mean it will for another.

This book is about a mother mouse and her baby. All night the mother mouse tried to find somewhere safe for her baby mouse to sleep, so she took her baby to various places. In the end the mother took her baby back to his original sleeping place. This book has great visuals and could be used in a classroom library.

We randomly found this at the library and we really liked it. The illustrations are so cute -- the little mouse is adorable. The story is OK but the images of the little mouse are what made it for me. Oh, and the moon is textured, an added plus for little fingers.
