Now very dated. The print is tiny and paragraphs dense. There are helpful good-sized diagrams, covering such topics as neurons and dendrites, light receptors in the eye, the cerebral hemispheres etc. The author looks at mental health, for example the changes as a child grows up, or in a senior person. Development of individual personalities, individuals reacting within groups. Mental illnesses occupy a late section. There is no index entry for Alzheimer's disease, nor dementia. Some treatments are listed for conditions. A great deal of studies and treatments have since been carried out, and there were no tablets and computer games (or no addictive ones) when the book was written.
