Now very dated. The print is tiny and paragraphs dense. There are helpful good-sized diagrams, covering such topics as neurons and dendrites, light receptors in the eye, the cerebral hemispheres etc.
The author looks at mental health, for example the changes as a child grows up, or in a senior person. Development of individual personalities, individuals reacting within groups. Mental illnesses occupy a late section. There is no index entry for Alzheimer's disease, nor dementia. Some treatments are listed for conditions.
A great deal of studies and treatments have since been carried out, and there were no tablets and computer games (or no addictive ones) when the book was written.
Bibliography p. 381, index p. 389 - 400. I read a paperback. This is an unbiased review.
