This book, all about North America, provides detailed information on the countries, land-forms, bodies of water, climate, plants, animals, population, people and customs, and living in North America. It breaks each up these parts up to provide the facts for all parts of the continent. It includes many well known places, cities, and national parks across the continent, as well as many statistics coming from these places. At the back there are some key facts about North America along with a glossary.
I think that this book would be really helpful during a geography unit in social studies. I really liked this book because I thought it contained a ton of information and facts.

I chose to put this book on my favorites shelf because it offers a great amount of information about North American through colorful pictures, short definitions, color coordination, graphs, and tables. This book explains information such as what a "Legend" is, the climates in North America, the types of plants that live in different regions and much more. This book would be best used in the Middle grades, preferably 6th grade, when teaching about North America and Maps.

Genre: Atlas/Region/Picture Book

I would love to have this book in my classroom. This book could be used in any grade, I even taught my five year old about North America through this book. I would use this book as an information guide when students need to find something out or just have a questions about the region. I think it would be helpful for students to retain information about the region and maps, through this book by handing out a worksheet to the class that asks questions such as: "What are the two continents that lie along the Equator?" and other questions such as "What is a compass rose?" This would not be a graded worksheet and I would let students work in groups of two.

I thought this book was really chalked full of information! There were lots of interesting facts and details about the continent as well as some really informative graphics. I could use this book in a lesson on the different continents, but I would definitely only use it with higher level readers.

As would be expected by the title, this is primarily a book of different maps showing parts of North America but it also includes the range of different animals and plants. It starts out by showing the entire world which lets students get an understanding of where North America is relative to other countries. Surprising to me, the book seemed to show Greenland and Central America as part of North America. It is very extensive showing climate maps, population maps, transportation, agriculture, industry and natural resources, as well as many others.
This seems like a very good book and would be nice to have in the classroom just as a general reference book that could be used anytime these kinds of information are needed. I think I would have loved this book when I was a kid.

This book is a great resource for information or research about many cities, states, and provinces in North America. It talks also about the people that live in these places and their culture. It talks about many national park destinations and is just full of so much information about what the north american continent has to offer.
