I was not able to read very much of this in the time I had available.
I found the book very detailed while still maintaining a broad understanding of all the factors at work in Gaelic piping. The author focused more on the history and the culture surrounding Gaelic piping than on the details of the actual bagpipe music (which is what I was personally hoping to read about).
But as I mentioned, I was not able to read the entire text, so I obviously missed things. Even the small portion I read was educational and helpful to my understanding of Scotland's musical history and of Scottish culture in general.
