As of 2004 over 90 retailers have sold a Barbie exclusive at one time. This exhaustive book includes all of those retailers and their treasures, and many dolls feature close-ups for ease in identification. Over 500 dolls not shown in previous editions have been added to this volume, along with 60 new fashions. There are 2,525 color photos featuring 1,365 dolls and 280 fashions. Fans of Barbie doll's little sister Kelly will be delighted to learn that over 100 Kelly dolls have been added, making this a great Kelly reference as well. Some of the latest retailers to join the exclusives bandwagon include Big Lots, Dollar General, Hard Rock Cafe, Mary Kay Cosmetics, the Mattel Store, See's Candies, and Walgreen's. This book is absolutely gorgeous. Who knew there were so many collectible versions of the classic playline fashion doll? Some of the one of a kinds that were produced for auction are truly exquisite. I have no desire to become a doll collector (I have enough expensive hobbies already, LOL) but the next best thing has to be a huge book like this full of pretty, pretty pictures. I only wish there was a newer version, to see what's been produced in the last 15 years.

Average resale price. This was for Barbies from 1980 and up. I
Thought it was a book on “vintage” Barbies. The photography was
Well done. Not what I expected. Will put it in my donate/giveaway

This is a book for selling collectible Barbie’s, but seeing how I had this book as a child it was a wealth of knowledge about the history of the doll, fashion and the times they were created. Many of the outfits inside influenced my inspirations into adulthood. As an artist, it’s a great book for references. These types of book are probably obsolete but I would love to find more of this quality for art inspiration purposes especially.
