Crispin has moved in with Wills for the summer, four hours away from their parents in Savannah. Without rules, or even Wills' nosy twin to police them, neither can wait for their three months of freedom. But Wills gets stuck memorizing tree biology, and Crispin's boss works him to exhaustion. In fact, everything about their lives seems incompatible. Crispin keeps a bizarre sleep schedule that messes up Wills' circadian rhythms. Wills wakes up as queen bitch while Crispin channels Tigger. Stuck scarfing frozen food, unable to work the washing machine, Wills and Crispin both feel miserable. They've been together since eleventh grade. But can their teenage love transition into the real world?
5 stars for Slow Dance by Julia McBryant. This is book 3 in the Southern Seduction series. Oh my god I am so loving Wills and Crispin. I do not even know where to begin when discussing this couple. Crispin decides to come stay with Wills for the summer in Athens. They get to be an out couple for a few months. They actually get to be boyfriends in public. However, these two have never lived with each other and it does not seem to be going well at first. They are starting to get on each others nerves and more. It continues with how much they wish they could come out to their parent but they know they can’t. This book actually had me crying in a few spots that is for sure. The question is can these two learn to live with each others differences. Can they cope with everything and be together. Another thing is can they go back to not being together everyday after the summer ends. You can tell these two had an amazing friendship before they fell in love. I know they are only 19 years old but they have a love that many crave to have. This book has been my favorite out of all of them so far. This book is also A LOT more steamier than the other two . I hope there is more to come for Wills and Crispin.
This is a great little story about finding yourself and your place. Wills and Crispin have just graduated high school. Wills is now in college studying tree biology and Crispin is working himself to the bone in construction. This was meant to be their summer together, alone from prying eyes. Things aren't exactly falling into place as they assumed. Wills is always grumpy, Crispin is overly happy and excited which annoys Wills. Crispin is constantly being injured at work and coming home a zombie, unable to spend time with Wills. The same goes for Wills, who feels as though schoolwork is burying him. Things come to an explosive head, and some truths are spoken. They realize they need to be more emotionally open and communicate better. They make a trip home, which doesn't end well for them. Wills is constantly afraid they will be caught in a compromising situation because they can't be their true selves. He comes to the realization that they can never truly go home and express their love. It's a hard truth.s Eventually, they learn to navigate each other's lives and promise to work harder at their relationship.
I loved the story of Crispin and Wills, they were so lovely throughout the books where they stumbled from thinking of each other as best friends to boyfriends even as they had been involved for a long time.
In the first book Crispin is the insecure one that needs reassurance and slowly it is tipped on its head when it turns out Wills needs it just as much and at times even more. And how they navigated through each others habits to go from separate till together was so sweet and emotional.
They both took so much care of each other, in each intimate situation, none was selfish, it was like a well oiled machine where each part took care of the other to run smoothly, and this bled in to their every day interactions as well. I'm happy this last book was longer than the first two, pulling us deeper in with the two.
When Henry goes back home to Savannah, Wills stays behind in Athens. The perks of this was one home away from noisy busybodies, two Crispin was staying in Athens. While the cats away or in this case Henry, the mouse can play. While in theory living together was going to be awesome, in reality it was both great and horrible. Neither can cook and Wills is trying to adjust to someone else being so near that isn't Henry. When doubts start to cloud Wills mind, speaks before he thinks. Will this be the straw that breaks them or makes them stronger. I just love the way Wills and Crispin make you feel their pain as they go through it together. This series gets you emotional involved with the characters. Highly recommend this series.
Crispin moves in with Wills for the summer while Henry, Wills twin goes home to work the family law firm. Crispin and Wills really do love each other but they have to find a way to actually live around each other in the same apartment. It was so trying and so beautiful and heart breaking at the same time. Once they have things figured out, it's time to go back to school and Henry moves back into the apartment. Can they keep their friendship/relationship together once they are apart? I am pretty sure they can because they can't see other people past each other.
Together for the summer, for Wills and Crispin it's the begining of finding out what it could be like if this romance could last forever. When Crispin gets a summer internship and goes to live with Wills, while Wills is taking some courses, they get a chance to be more then best friend with benefits, and realize that you have to work at building your relationship but with a little effort it can be a dance to last a life time. This was a wonderfully well writen fast moving hot love story that is very satisfying from begining to end really enjoyed Wills and Crispin's story.
Slow Dance is the continuation of the sweet and super sexy story of Wills and Crispin . I know I've mentioned it before, but the author's style of writing puts you right there, like you're the one panting for Crispin's next kiss or salivating when Wills takes off his shirt. Every moment is so real and raw, you can't get enough. This book had my heart so twisted and it was fantastic. I can't get enough of Julia McBryant
This story is totally about love growing from childlike to adult. Crispin and Wills have to learn how to actually be together without hiding and growing up and learning each other can be hard. I wanted a little more resolution, but I’m holding out hope that the author will write one more. I’m not ready to be done with these two yet!
This was a sweet and steamy MM romance about two best friends who have become boyfriends moving into together and learning it isn’t as easy as they thought. Throw in the fact that their families back home would disagree with their relationship and their in for one heck of a roller coaster ride.
I have been following this series and it is terrific. We meet them as boys and jealously follow their lives. This was the funniest so far. I laughed out loud in so many areas of this book. Can’t wait for the next installment.
