Tony and his parents dye Easter eggs, listen to the story of Easter in church, and have a special supper at Grandma and Grandpa's in this springtime lift-the-flap book.
Simple explanations of Christian traditions surrounding Easter with a very abbreviated teetering of Jesus’ death and resurrection using flaps. Appropriate for older toddler to kinder.
The book was just ok because the little boy is asking about what Easter is to his parents. His parents say it's when you go to church and listen about how Jesus died on the cross rose from the dead. The little boy (Tony) asks what he will do in church?
To me, it teaches children to attend church only on special holidays or occasions. At the end of the book they thank God for the food and then the author says: "And then it's time for an Easter egg hunt." I don't like how it goes from being totally serious about how Easter came about and why it's celebrated to- OK lets go have fun now.
That's the way it sounds to me.

The text is not very engaging; the lift the flap feature does not rescue it from a bland tone. More emphasis is put on dressing up to and going to church on Easter Sunday than on the actual Christian Easter story.
