This is the prequel to the Summer Heat Series Book 1 “Summer Burn.”
A boy in need of love. A lover without a heart. This is the prequel to the Summer Heat Series Book 1 “Summer Burn.”
A visit to a warm climate is all Chase Olson thought he needed to make him forget the man he adored, who broke his heart and left him penniless. After a disastrous relationship that ends in New York, Chase moves to California in search of a man and a fantasy in hopes that whomever he meets will accept and overlook the broken young man he has become. Will Chase find the man of his dreams and will that man be the one, or will Chase set himself up for another broken heart? Will Chase’s experiences change him, or will he remain the sweet loving boy he’d been before?
I thought this sounded really good when I read the blurb and was excited to start the series. So far I have been a little disappointed with the prequel. It is not bad, but it is not great either. The story is good, but the editing is terrible. The occasional misspelled word is not bad, but there is so much unnecessary repeating of sections that is totally unnecessary. It could have really been edited better and tightened up and a lot easier and enjoyable to read.
A monsterosly boring short story that basically tells about a now 19 year old male dancer who thinks his Daddy is moving on without him. He confides this to his best friend, Jami during a luncheon date. Well, at least there were no editing errors...the story was too short to have any! Do NOT recommend at all.
I almost never rate a book this low but I couldn’t go any higher if I wanted to be honest with my opinion. Here’s the deal…this book has potential. I know it’s a prequel but I don’t think it lived up to what it could have been and it made me very uncomfortable. The main character, Chase, has been groomed (and uses that exact word) by an older man. The grooming started before he was 18 and the relationship turned sexual as soon as he was legal. Most of this book is Chase complaining that Robert is interested in a new boy (emphasis on the boy) and that he’s being replaced. Chase was just so naïve and took Robert’s grooming too lightly for me to enjoy this book. Sadly, this series is a no for me.
I'm so not sure about this rating. I didn't hate it, but it's definitely not my thing, the whole daddy thing. I don't get the daddy kink, at all. And the grooming and dependency on another, older man... Idk. Not my thing. But, I didn't hate it. Not sure if I'll read the sequels but yeah. I'm sure someone out there will love it.

This prequel definitely has me wanting to read the rest of the series. There are 3 full books in the series and I really want to know more about Chase, Nicky & Peter. Check triggers though, there is some grooming which Chase finally breaks away from.
DNF - this was awful. Heavy topics handled in a ridiculous way, asinine conversations between the MC and his friend, the entire plot is laughable. Easiest DNF I've had in a while.
Summer Heat is a prequel to a new M/M Romance series called Summer Heat by Sky McCoy. A short read but with a good does of heat that gets the reader pumped for book one in the series. Intereesting characters and a story that is fun, sexy, and hot.
