Thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love how this book is about twins. I, as a teacher, have two sets of twins in my classroom and both don't look the same. One boy and girl and two girls. Sometimes their personalities do have the same characteristics, and it's fun to be working with twins and observing them. So this book, being about twins, is something that I can relate to!

The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. They are a bit pastel-like and I'm immediately a fan of Marie Delon, who illustrated this book.

This book would be perfect to read in class, since the book feels perfect to make predictions about how the story is going to unfold.

The story has a great message behind it, how anyone should get the chance to be themselves and how being different can be fun too! Great to start conversations in class.

Mac (son/brother Twin) & Madi (daughter/sister) are identical twins.
Even their friends get them confused.
Every year on their birthday they even do the same thing & have the same stuff.
The next year the twins came up with a different idea.

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures & proper font & writing style. A very well written children’s (age K-6) storybook. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s growing up movie, a classroom presentation, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

A birthday party is coming up for two identical twins. Will the pair want to do the same things just like every other year, or will they want to start expressing their individuality?

This book gives us a charming look at identical twins and how their similarities and differences are celebrated.

The illustrations have a soft, cheeky charm and make the twins especially loveable.

This is a nice easy read and guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of any parents who have twins and maybe even on those who don’t!

Doesn't rhyme but it was fun. I know it's considered a kid's book but I couldn't help it. Also, read this with my little sister. Not much response except "They're ugly" (at Mac and Madi). I think she's not that serious though, knowing her.

An enjoyable read

This was a nice book. The illustrations are fun and the lesson of the story is important. I found the text difficult to read because it was light and small.

With fun and quite a bit of charm, this is a sweet tale surrounding a wonderful pair of characters...who happen to be identical twins.

I haven't seen many picture books on the market featuring identical twins, and this one does it with love and a dash of humor. While the first pages start out with how similar they are, they tale takes off as it quickly becomes clear that they are each different too. And it does it without letting the message overpower the story. The characters have a wonderful touch of sass and snip, which will draw young listeners in. As their party gets underway, things get interesting and the solutions are well laid without being overly preachy. It's a great beginning to what promises to be a fun series.

The illustrations are sweet, colorful and let the wit and fun of the story radiate on every page. The two girls are brought across in a way which will ring a connection to young listeners. The emotions and situations come across in a very warm and delightful way. It makes it a nice read-aloud which kids are sure to want to hear more than just a few times.

I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed this quite a bit. So, I'm leaving my honest thoughts.

This is such a cute book! Mac and Madi are twins. They dress alike, look alike, and act alike. Everything is exactly the same. On their birthday they decide to be different. Each chooses their cake, food, and clothes. They learn that being alike is great fun but being yourself is what matters most.

I loved how this book show how the girls were alike but then allowed them to develop their own identity.

The wonderful relationship twins can have shines and makes readers' (who don't have a twin) wish they had one, too.

Mac and Madi are twins and match everything from clothes to food to favorite things. They are the happiest of sisters and love being twins. When their birthday rolls around, they always have a big party and are excited about having one this year, too. But unlike other years, they want to shake things up a bit. They may be twins and get along splendidly, but each one does have their own favorite things. So, they decided to have two cakes, two sets of decorations, two outfits and two meals...all at the same time. But now, they aren't sure if their family and friends will be as excited about the idea as they are.

This is a cute book geared for twins and shows the struggle they can face when displaying individuality. Mac and Madi get along very well through-out the book and support each other no matter what without the slightest hesitation. This sibling love is inspiring and was nice to see. Interestingly enough, they are worried their friends and family won't like them showing individuality....which is an original twist.

The reader gets to know the twins first and how they are always alike before they show the differences in opinions while preparing their party. This was done in a fun way and probably has readers wishing they could attend the party, too. I was a little surprised that the girls ordered cakes, went clothes shopping and everything else all on their own without their parents' knowledge, but that doesn't really hurt the main point of the tale in any way, since this one is about accepting differences and helping twins to know that it's okay if they aren't alike...and others. And it fulfills this purpose completely. At the end of the book, there is a note to parents about raising twins as well.
I received a complimentary copy and found this book to be packed with good vibes.

Twins: Likenesses and Differences!

by Barbara Kelley

This is a really cute book about little twin girls Mac and Madi. They both looked exactly alike, so much so that their friends couldn't tell them apart. One day, while getting ready for their upcoming birthday party, they decide to get different cakes, different food, and different clothes. These little girls are identical, but they want to be known for their individual selves, as well. There was only one mistake in artistry that I saw. The twin who was supposed to be wearing shorts and a yellow shirt was wearing pants and the little girl she was hugging was wearing the shorts and yellow shirt, but then on the following pages, the twin was wearing the shorts and yellow shirt. I still gave this book 5 stars because it had a really good moral about each person having their very own personality.

Mac and Madi were facing a classic twin problem: they were tired of always being the same. So they aim to be different on their birthday.

A cute story with fun and colorful illustrations. A great twin story!
