About the author

Samantha Wayland

Samantha Wayland has three great loves in life; her family, writing books, and hockey. She is often found apologizing to the first for how much time and attention is taken up by the latter two, but they forgive her because they are awesome and she clearly doesn’t deserve them.

Sam lives with her family -- of both the two and four-legged variety -- outside of Boston. She is a wicked passionate New Englander (born and raised) who has been known to wax rhapsodic about the Maine Coast, the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont, and the sensible way in which her local brethren don’t see a need for directional signals (blinkahs!).

Her favorite things include mango martinis, tiny Chihuahuas with big attitude problems, and the Oxford comma.

Gah!!! I love Rhian so much...he just kills me! I was so anxious and worried about him in this book- he was going through something that he wasn't sharing and I just needed to know what was causing him such anguish. He's so sweet and caring, I hated seeing him in pain.

Jean-Michel and Noel added some much needed comic relief and I hope, hope their book is up next! They are so funny and you can definitely tell there is an attraction, but these 2 are so clueless it's quite adorable.

This series is just wonderful- full of so much heart and love!!!

Enjoyed returning to Boston and the Hat Trick trio. Loved meeting the French-Canadian Mafia, and can't wait to read Jean-Michel and Noel's book. I did feel a little short changed by the ending. I wanted more interaction with the Morrisons and to see their reactions to their news.

I'm totally brand new to this series and author. I'll admit the cover caught my attention and though it was a novella from a series already established I went for it and wasn't disappointed at all!

What a lovely poly-mas book it was.

Now I definitely am going to go back and read this series. I was caught up in the leading characters ( Rhian is gorgeous! ) and the side characters ( do they have books too?? )

I wouldn't put it on my "must read again because it's so damn festive" list, but I'd read it again for the love affair these three people have together. Unf!

A Merry Little (Hat Trick) Christmas is a delightful novella returning us to Rhian, Garrick and Savannah's life in Boston. Rhian is settled as a star NHL player with his team though all his secrets in his life are starting to weigh on him and his relationship with his friends and family. Wanting to feel like he belongs and isn't alone is hard on Rhian and not being able to tell others, especially the teammates about his life taking it's toll on him. Savannah's also holding a secret from friends and co-workers though the signs are starting to show and soon everyone will know.

It felt like ages since I've read the "Hat Trick" series and delving back into to Rhian, Garrick & Savannah's world and lives was a refreshing treat! Oh my the sex scenes - scorch the page hot! The chemistry is still as blazing as ever. I truly felt for Rhian and his dilemma. Who doesn't want to belong? We all long for it. I couldn't put this novella down and devoured it in one sitting. 5 Stars for A Merry Little (Hat Trick) Christmas by Samantha Wayland

A short revisit with Garrick, Savannah, and Rhian from the Hat Trick trilogy at Christmastime. Rhian spends much of the novella upset and secretive, and his lovers and friends are trying to figure out what is wrong with him. It was more of a growing experience for Rhian as he begins to share what he needs with Samantha, Garrick and his friends and family...and we see how it affects their lives and those that love them. I really like the triad and they each give the others something that they need.

It also seemed to be setting up some future possible stories with Rhian's clueless team mates Jean-Michel and Noel. And Henri was featured as well and there was even a bit of an opening for a possible storyline for him.

It was told in multiple points of views. It was sweet, sexy, funny, and hopeful check in with these characters. It could have been a bit longer and I would have like maybe at least a couple more pages past where it ended.

Rhian has been having problems lately. Everyone is assuming what his problem is but no one directly asks him. Savannah and Garrett think he needs space. His teammates think he needs a woman in his bed. Eventually it comes to a head and secrets come out over Christmas.

I love this series. I love this people. The relationship between Savannah, Rhian, and Garrett is great as well as hot. I like how Savannah and Garrett always are reassuring Rhian and showing him their love for him. I also like the extended families. His teammates are a hoot. Jean-Michel and Noel are a hoot and poor Henri is left to roll his eyes and try to pull them out of trouble. They are also oblivious to themselves. I'd like to hear their story as well as Henri's.

Just a good series!

Holy Fadoodle! This side story is just AWESOME ! Love it love it love it! I would kiss Samantha if i could. GAH! What can I say, the turmoil inside Rhian head was spot on. That’s what i called emo-angst-thought, and I loved it! Really, because it’s super sad that he thought about that but they really can’t escape it because it is the truth.. GAAH 😭 and the ending really makes me slaving to the next book.. Let’s see what Lachlan story will be with a little snip here and snap there about the big family 😍

3.5 stars rounded down

Too much focus on side characters — three or four new narrators, in addition to our thruple. With this being a novella, it just spread everything a bit thin.

I would like a map of which characters have their own books, pls. Bc all of these side characters seem to have potential to be leads, but they aren’t numbered as one big series.

As always, the sex was hot.

Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (can’t put my finger on why this feels less steamy than the previous book. Maybe just the shorter length means fewer sex scenes? Or the proliferation of non-thruple narrators?)

A lil Christmas novella that didn’t feel like a Christmas novella at all. Sure there were the Christmas elements but took a backseat to the rest of the story. The story was really cute. The way everyone cares for Rhian is super sweet. It was nice to get to know his teammates and best friends too, through their POVS.

Absolutely great

Funny, sweet, sexy and a great revisit to the series. Plenty of setup for more books. A fun Christmas book. And the cutest, most clueless guys in the league.

I'm done with the series. I admit I was curious about some parts of the story. The premise was nice, but well, I guess we just didn't fit as well as I hoped.

Sometimes I’ll read something just to better understand the perspective of something I’m unfamiliar with, and this does show the complexities of a poly relationship and potential strife. It’s a fun, fast read, but also forgettable.

A good read.

Yet another wonderful story from Ms. Wayland. It could be longer ( like all of her stories I always want more) but is is a delightful revisit to S, G, and R.
