An enjoyable collection of *very* Irish tales, some I had never heard of before. Folktales and Saints’ tales mix with epic myths about Fionn and Cúchulainn.

My favorite was “The Dream of Angus Óg”, where the youngest son of the Dagda sacrifices all just to be with his enchanted love.

It was also really interesting reading the story behind St. Kevin founding Glendalough—a beautiful place I was lucky enough to visit a few years ago.

Great stories of old Irish tales. Some I have heard of like Fionn Mac Cumhaill and others I have not heard of. Some stories are bizarre and strange in a good way and all of them are beautifully illustrated in both writing and imagery. I think it is a great book for young and old alike.
