Not All It’s Cracked Up to Be

The full title and subtitle of this book is “Anxiety Relief: A complete guide to eliminate negative thinking, stress, dерrеѕѕiоn, angеr and panic attасkѕ.” in general, I do not believe that any books, especially a short one like this, can be a “complete guide” to any medical topic. But I also found the subtitle to be an odd combination of concepts. What does anxiety have to do with negative thinking, depression, or anger? These could only be loosely linked together, at least to my mind. The subtitle also makes you think that this book is going to be all about these other topics and how they relate to anxiety or anxiety relief. But over half the book was a more general discussion of anxiety, including different types and other information. Some ideas presented struck me as rather bizarre. Like in a section that was labeled 14 destructive types of anxiety, two of them were ones that I would not think of as being necessarily “destructive” but rather just annoying, like test anxiety and shy bladder syndrome. In all honesty, it felt like this book was haphazardly cobbled together from a variety of websites or perhaps other sources. I could be wrong, but it seemed that way to me. And it also had that annoying tactic that some nonfiction authors in particular seem to use; that is, right in the middle of the book as your reading along, the author begs for a review. Yes, I know that reviews are important to writers, but asking for them like that is just the wrong way to go about it. In all honesty, you most likely could find the information in this book on the internet.

Really informative and helpful

This short nonfiction audiobook gives really great information about anxiety and how to reduce your own stress and anxiety without medication. I learned a lot, including terminology, how to identify what anxiety problems I might have, and useful ways to help myself. It also gave me more ideas about things to talk about with a therapist. I am no expert, but I think that the book sounds very well researched and accurate. I plan on listening to this 1.75-hour audiobook again in the future. It is a really great deal at less than the cost of an Audible credit; I would pay that price, and I'll probably gift it to some friends soon.

The narrator Bill Franchuk wasn’t perfect, but he did a really solid performance. His delivery was clear and compassionate, and I felt comforted by his voice. Bill Franchuk really conveyed the first-hand experience and empathy of the writer. He sounds like a middle-aged guy from Ohio, which works well with the subject matter.

Amazing book to dispose of negative reasoning

The most effective method to oversee anxiety has been plainly clarified by the Author Elliot Wood through the 11 Chapters in this book. I discovered this book contains another path just as bit by bit clarifications with entirely important and down to earth tips however easy to scrutinize .
The Author has given extraordinary knowledge on the best way to recognize uneasiness and kill negative reasoning which is clarified in an exceptionally simple and justifiable language. I also discover this book is delivered as an incredible asset that contains investigated material on Negative Thinking, Stress, Dерrеѕѕiоn, Аngеr and Panic Аtасkѕ which demonstrated that the Author worked admirably of showing this subject.
I firmly prescribe this book for the individuals who are experiencing negative speculation throughout each and every day.

In spite of the fact that I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout however that didn't influence my voluntarily leaving this review.

A very informative book. I found this book very helpful. Anxiety is a great challenge for an increasing number of people in our ever stressful lives. Panic attacks are very real and are definitely not due to an overactive imagination or even hypochondria, The symptoms can be really frightening not just for the person suffering but for the family or onlookers as well. So any insight into ways to learn to cope with it must surely be a good thing. The book also deals with other forms of emotional/ mental problems that plaque many thousands of people every year, many of which are due simply to the pressures we have to face in our modern society. The book is detailed with a lot of useful information, citing scientific resources.

Readers are sure to like this common sense approach to solving the problems of anxiety, depression, anger, etc. The first half of the book gives a lot of good information and explanation of the problems. Then the whole second half of the book gives practical strategies to try. I especially liked the focus on the basics: diet, exercise, getting enough sleep, time for relaxation, etc. I think the deep breathing idea was very helpful, too. Thanks for writing this book!

This is a dead everyone should read as it can help you in difficult situation and help you to there is light at the end of the tunnel. A must read for everyone
