This One's For You

Rate this book
Playing pretend with a rock superstar.

Bad boy rockstar Ian Conroe knows how to put on a show.
Whether he's making the crowd beg for more with a pulse pounding drum solo, or making my body long for another heart-stopping kiss, Ian is completely magnetic.
But it's not just me he's performing for.

He gave me the chance of a lifetime, inviting me to film his band's tour.
After only a few days I found myself the target of online outrage.
Gossip blogs and angry commenters wrongly believe I'm having an affair with one of Ian's married band mates.
They don't know there's only one sexy, tattooed rocker that does it for me.

Realizing I could be in trouble, Ian decides there is only one way to protect me from the hordes of angry fans.
I need to pretend to be his.
Now when the paparazzi start taking pictures, we put on a show that would convince even the most hate-filled internet troll of our unbridled lust for each other.
Best. Plan. Ever.

As we spend day after day getting cozy on his band's freezing tour bus and night after night getting into trouble at five star hotels, I'm starting to wonder what's real and what's just an act.

What happens to 'us' when we reach the end of the road and the cameras are gone?

'This One’s For You' is a romantic comedy featuring an almost entirely reformed bad boy drummer with a taste for vegan food and redheads and a tattooed girl next door with sarcasm to spare on a twisted road to happily ever after. It stands alone with no cheating, cliffhangers, or nonsense.

I have been waiting for this book and waiting and waiting and thats kinda what I thought the books title was all about. It is Vanessa's story. This is a seriess but each book is loosely connected and now I have figured out how. I think its book 8 in the series. I have not read the series from the beginning. I read book 6 and 7. In book 6 Vanessa who is a friend has a bad accident and her arm is cut off and reattached and her fiancee dies. She is traumatized but her friends are there for her. In book 7 her best friend Caroline is the woman who finds love but she ends up leaving Vanessa for a life in Africa with the man she falls for and now we get Vanessa's story. Caroline runs a support group and Ian is part of the group and she gets Vanessa to attend one session.

The two meet but Vanesssa was in bad place still and she doesnt ever go back. Ian, a rockstar with a troubled past, developes a huge crush on her but he doesn't see her again until his friends son (Jason and Wendy's son, yes they have a story too in the series) runs away and finds Vanessa at a concert where they are doing a secret concert for fans.

Vanessa has quit being an emt and is now a videographer and so he asks her to video their secret show. And that is how they end up getting to know the other. I LOVED their texts. These two were so absolutely adorable together. Considering their pasts it was such a fun, sweet and romantic story.

A side note is that Ians brother is Ryan (also a former story in the series) who ended up with Rosie in a previous story. See loosely connected. I loved finally connecting with the other stories and seeing how this part of the series connected.

Ian Conroe is the drummer in a band who hit bottom with an alcohol addiction. He was able turn his life around and is trying to get back on his feet. Vanessa Evans is a redhead who had been in a terrible accident that killed her fiancé and put her through major physical trauma. The two of them met in a support group, went their separate ways, then reconnected when she is offered a chance to film the band in a special secret show that gave her a new beginning.

What is important in this book is a number of take-aways the reader will find that have great value. These two characters had been through their own kind of trauma and defeat, and yet they pulled out of the despair and turned their lives around when giving up may have seemed so much easier. The support of friends is invaluable, but it has to start with the heart and spirit of the person who has been knocked down. Everyone is worthy of love and it takes courage to pursue it despite how your life may have crashed around you. It takes courage to stand up and try again. Ian was an inspirational character because he cared for Vanessa and didn’t waver as he showed her she could take a chance on him. Will she? Can the two of them make it together?

This was a good story. If it lagged now and then in pacing, at least the message came through loud and clear and, for me, that was what I focused on. Grab your copy and see whether you agree – and whether the two of them can become an awesome combination!

Loved this one! This One’s For You is the perfect book for anyone who believes that your past should not define your future. It’s a beautiful romance about two people who have experienced significant trauma and are learning to move past it. The story follows Vanessa and Ian, who briefly met at a trauma support group and reconnect several months later. Ian is a member of a famous rock band and is a recovering alcoholic, finally getting his life together after many dark years. He’s just starting to realize that he’s worth more, and he wants a serious relationship like the ones he sees around him. Something about Vanessa appealed to him the instant he met her, but she was still in a dark place when they met. Now that they’re both on the road to recovery, romance seems possible but they each have baggage they need to work through before that can become reality.

It’s a really profound and compelling romance that shows everyone is deserving of love. Ian was fantastic - his feelings for Vanessa ran deep from the start, he just had to convince her that he’s worth tasking a risk on. It was so refreshing that the male lead didn’t waiver on his feelings; he truly just wanted to be worthy of Vanessa. For a book with such heavy themes, it never got overly angsty - sure, there was plenty of struggle but the story didn’t get bogged down by it. If I have any complaints about the book, it would be the pacing, but really this is just a great romance. I’m glad I checked it out and now I’m looking forward to the couple who will star in the next book.

I have been waiting forever for Ian and Vanessa's story and it did not dissapoint. Ian has been through alot in his life and has finally overcome his demons. He is also getting a second chance to live out his dream as the drummer for Axial Tilt. Vanessa is starting over after the devastating death of her fiance in a workplace crash that also left her scarred. She is finally living her life for herself and is following her dreams as a videographer. Though these two first met at a support group meeting Vanessa never returned and though Ian never forgot about her he didn't know how to reach out to her. However fate steps in and allows them a second chance when they run into each other at a music festival. Soon their lives become entwined and feelings grow no matter how much Vanessa fights them. Not all is smooth sailing and soon between paparazzi and crazed fans Vanessa starts to feel like maybe it just isn't worth her sanity and safety to pursue anything with Ian. Love isn't one to take a backseat however and these two will fight for their hea against everything trying to tear them apart. This was a sweet story about second chances. It really was a fabulous read! I can not wait to read what book comes next!

Ian was great at self sabatoge and being the black sheep of the band with his raging addiction to alcohol. But he'd been making amends and was sober for longer then a year, so maybe some good would come his way with his new interest in a certain red head.

Vanessa had been through a hellious ordeal and battled family financial problems but she was starting to fix what was still in pieces. She was physically intact now she needed the emotional support and maybe a new love...

I was hoping for both of these characters stories from the beginning of introductions to them. Jason's story was the first I read and have been wanting more since reading about Ryan and then reading about Vanessa's tragedy.

I am glad the wait is over. I couldn't put this story down. Every moment I had a spare second I was reading this, and it didn't disappoint- although I had to have a box of tissues at times.

She was constantly fighting this, he was hers from hello.

I would have liked a better epilogue though. This really was a story of moving on from guilt and self loathing without hating the characters for not having their stuff together.

I cannot wait for the next book out.

Give yourself a second life.
Excellent romance, tender, moving, hot with real questions about how to live again after events that have affected the course of life. I really liked the characters of Vanessa and Ian, who are both tortured but at the same time trying to move on.
Vanessa is hired by the band "Axial Tilt" thanks to Ian who had already met her quickly and who was immediately attracted by her, which she does not know because she had never been back in the support group although she too is felt a strong attraction. She has escaped once, but not two, and Ian does everything to seduce her and keep her. But Vanessa still has after-effects from her accident and Ian from the accident he caused that killed his friends. Going beyond their cracks is a real challenge.

Ian and Vanessa met at a trauma survivors support group and Ian never forgot her. Now years later they bump into each other when she is getting footage for her reporter job and he is chasing after a band mates toddler. When the person that is supposed to video their tour bails on them Ian mentions Vanessa doing it for them. Sparks fly between them as she joins the band on tour and her videos make their fans go crazy. However no one expected the scandal of fan assuming she was on the tour for one of the other band members that just happens to be married. When the scandal doesn't end and continues to grow it could cost Vanessa her job on the tour. What will that mean for her and Ian? Can they start a new relationship when he is getting ready to be on tour for so long?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Once again Taylor has written a book that has so many nuances that you feel like you are living life with the characters

WE met Vanessa in a previous story she was the girl involved in the bad car accident that severely injured her and she lost her fiancee Her friend convinces her to attend a therapy session as she thinks it will help her. There she meets Ian he is a member of a rock band who isn't happy and has turned to alcohol to sedate himself. He is instantly attracted to Vanessa but at that time they go their separate ways Later he meets her again and offers her a chance to video their secret concert. This is when they finally get together but thee is plenty of complications along the way. Can two damaged people help heal one another You will have to read to see

This One’s For You was a great story it was well written by Taylor Holloway, this was the first book by this author that I have read and was wonderfully surprised. This was a fun and enjoyable read, I found myself giggling at times and then became a bit misty eyed at times. I have to admit that I really fell for Ian from the very beginning, there was just something about this character that really captured my heart. I would love to tell you more but don’t want to give anything away so I just want to say I absolutely adored this story and highly recommend it.

Billed as a romantic comedy, I didn’t find either statement true. The book is like 8th in a loosely related series and my bad for not paying attention more to that important fact.
Ian is a drummer and from all accounts has had a rough history with the band. Vanessa a former EMT suffered a life changing tragedy, Ian and Vanessa meet before and fate puts them in each other’s way again. I didn’t like the author throwing IMO ridiculous obstacles in their way, which considering Vanessa’s on/off/on feelings for Ian just added to why bother thoughts I had during most of the story.

Wow what a story I absolutely loved it and it’s Ian’s and Vanessa’s story. Ian and his band mates were getting back together Ian is the drummer and the band is called Axial Tilt, he was consumed with being a bad boy he had a bad substance addiction and very bad behaviour but now he has cleaned himself and his image up. Ian met Vanessa at a support group Vanessa was in a terrible car accident that killed her fiancée and had ripped her arm off, but Vanessa didn’t want to be there she only went because her roommate Caroline needed a ride and she hosted the group. Ian was so glad to meet Vanessa with her red hair and long legs she was his type of woman but after awhile Vanessa stopped going and Ian never thought that he would see her again and he didn’t until now at the concert. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but this is just the beginning of an amazing story it’s a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is part of a series bit can be read as a standalone. Two people with troubled pasts find love and redemption,. A good story where you can see that the characters are strong individuals that life had knocked down but they were able to get back up. It was a little slow in some spots but still a really good story.

Reformed bad boy vegan drummer meets wise crakin' videographer and the sparks fly! Though the chemistry is apparent, Vanessa is determined not be another notch on Ian's bedpost. Just as she gets a break with his band and decides to give Ian a chance, the internet blows up with vicious rumors about her. This is a great love story with tons of ups and downs, fabulous witty banter, drama and the bumpy road they take to find their best selves....loved it!

After meeting these two in separate books, I already feel like I know them a little bit. Their chemistry is immediate and their story is both romantic and tragic. I really enjoyed this book and the characters so much. Taylor’s writing makes me feel as if I’m right there in the story myself, feeling their emotions and praying for an HEA. I cannot wait to see what happens with the doctors.

Ian is the bad boy/addict in a rock band who is trying to clean himself and his image up. Vanessa is suffering from a tragic accident where her fiancee was killed and she was injured. They meet again when he sees her at a concert and he offers her a chance to film his groups secret concert since she works for a media group. This is the beginning of a hot romance with some drama and complications but the lovely part is how Ian and Vanessa feel about each other.

He’s searching for normal.

Ian Conroe is the drummer for Axial Tilt. He crashed and burned and is searching for normal.

Vanessa Evans is his redhead dream girl. Working media at South by Southwest, they met again.

They met in a support group. Ian has plenty of collateral damage in his wake, but he’s trying to revamp his image and his life and be better.

Vanessa went through a traumatic event as well. Ian promises her a inside s scoop, footage of the band playing a secret show.
His ulterior motive - get the girl.

Through babysitting, bloody noses and interrupted games. Through drama and
Don and Thornton and Vanessa loosing her gig.
I really liked that they both had issues and worked to build a lasting relationship.
Recommend.
