Little Red Riding Hood sets out to visit Granny and meets a greedy wolf. Friendly text is accompanied by Bao Luu's gorgeous illustrations in this wonderful board book with embedded sounds.
Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
I really enjoy this board book rendition of “Little Red Riding Hood” as someone who really enjoys fairytales. My toddler has also decided that this is also one of his current favorites.
LOVE the illustrations, but the story was alright. I forgot why, but I wasn't a huge fan with the beginning. The middle was your typical Red Riding Hood story with the wolf in place of grandma and the end was quite different than what I expected.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
So in the Red Riding Hood stories I've read grandma puts stones in the wolf's stomach before she stitches him up, but in this story, there are no stones. She just stitches him up with blue thread and when the wolf wakes up he leaves the cottage with a sore stomach and blue stitches on his stomach and says that he will never eat people again. The End.
