Rate this book
Collects Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #565-577, Amazing Spider-Man Annual (2008) #1, Secret Invasion: Amazing Spider-Man #1-3 and material from Amazing Spider-Man: Extra! #1.

Will Spider-Man's Brand New Day be ruined by foes old or new - or a combination of the two? First, Spidey must survive Kraven's First Hunt - but this isn't the Kravinoff he knew. In fact, she might be even more lethal! Then, Spidey will face a Norman Osborn who has changed, too - because this time, Osborn has the force of the law behind him. And Osborn's dark version of order is maintained by the twisted Thunderbolts! Another classic foe, Hammerhead, has been revived by Spidey's newest nemesis, the nihilistic Mister Negative. The two unite in a rampage of crime - but as the bullets fly, the Punisher joins the fray! Plus: Jackpot faces a Skrull Secret Invasion!

A good collection. Some really good some misses or filler issues. Will definitely continue though. Antivenom was cool.

"'DANGER' IS MY MIDDLE NAME. OR IT WOULD'VE BEEN IF MY AUNT HAD LET ME CHANGE IT WHEN I WAS TEN."
- Spider-Man to Reed Richards.

A lot going on in this one:
A Hammerhead origin story by Kelly and Bachalo.
In a glue-related incident, Pete rocks a red bandana at Harry's suit-and-tie birthday party.
His costume ruined, Peter masquerades as Daredevil to battle Kraven's daughter.
Norman Osborn sends his Thunderbolts after Spider-Man.
A pentagon General interviews CPL Eugene "Flash" Thompson for the Medal Of Honor.
Another beautifully rendered Hammerhead story by team Kelly/Bachalo.
Spidey and Punisher stop drug smugglers. More of The Bookie.
A three-part Secret invasion tie-in.
Spidey and Jackpot team-up to fight a guy who can blind people by touch.
Great stuff. Two whole Bachalo stories. Four stars!

Decent Spider-Man stories. However the constant creative teams changes are still present in volume 2 , which, in my opinion, do not improve its quality, namely the artwork. Nevertheless, as a Spider-Man fan, I'll keep on reading the rest of Brand New Day collection.

The Kravinoff story line, imho, is a terrible choice. I do like a villain making their plans slowly and operating from the shadows (à la Jackal), however I found their ultimate objective both worn out and illogical.

Some of the stories were better than others, but over all a good web slinging time was had by all.

I love Spider-Man.

Weakest story by far was the Secret Invasion side story which wasn’t written by any of the four main writers. Otherwise, solid stuff.

Still enjoying brand new day much more than I thought, but many of these issues were still pretty forgettable.
