We got this book as the "token" representing Samuel's experience gift for his birthday: a trip to the zoo. The illustrations are very cute, the flaps really are nice and sturdy for curious, tugging fingers, and the book has a nice, manageable amount of text on each page, with interesting facts about habitats and specific animals. I've had other interactive books with moveable pieces on the page, but they were all too fragile for baby interaction. This book, however, really does have "chunky" flaps that are holding up to his enthusiastic tugs and repeated use. It could have earned five stars for that alone, honestly.

The chunky flaps in this board book are perfect for little hands that are still working on a gentle touch. I read this book with my 1 year old and she enjoyed lifting the flaps to find the animals. This book is good for introducing young babies to new vocabulary. This book would be great for toddlers and young preschoolers as it introduces animals from different types of environments and shares simple facts about selected animals.

Love the variety of animals. The interactive fold outs have interesting shapes and are thick with holes to grab, making them easy for little hands to open. Highly recommended.
