Masterful, fanciful illustrations by Kevin O'Malley have charmed me right from the very first page.

My favorite quote from the text (by clever Robert Kraus) goes like this:

Picture the two main characters, Big Squeak and Little Squeak, who would sit around all day, eating cheese curls and watching mouse cartoons on TV:

"There must be more to life than this," said Little Squeak.

"Sure there is," said Big Squeak.
"There's eating real cheese and watching soap operas."

What a happy, fanciful ending, too! (Though, of course, no spoilers from me, no no!)

FIVE STARS for sure.
