KINGSTON: I landed an interview at the city’s best tech firm.
When the handsome and tall CEO walks into the boardroom for my interview, I didn't expect him to be someone who's helped me before. His name’s Felix and despite my inexperience, he decides to hire me.
After a work trip with Felix, I start falling hard for him and now I have to deal with the feelings I have for my boss. Not only am I a virgin, but Felix is also so much older than me. The thought of opening up to a man who's confident and successful is terrifying. Can I overcome this fear and finally go for the man of my dreams?
FELIX: I built my multi-million-dollar tech firm from nothing.
Running a successful company means I don’t have any time to date, and all the women I've been with haven’t given me any desire to settle down. When I meet Kingston, he’s nothing more than someone who can help my company grow. But I realize that beneath his bright green eyes, he has the kindest and gentlest soul.
I’m straight.
I’ve never been into another man before Kingston walked into my life. And under the watchful eyes of my business partners, I'm hesitant to explore this thing I have with my employee. I'm good at putting out fires in my company, but what if the flame between me and Kingston is too big to put out?
Warning: KINGSTON contains explicit sexual content not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
The Beckford Brothers series focuses on four brothers who go on their own journeys to find love. Each novel can be read on its own or as part of the series.

I like some of the tropes employed in the book -- age gap, sugar daddy/sugar baby. I think some of the rough edges in Leo's book have been smoothed in Kingston's story, but I still see room for growth. The end felt a little abrupt. I'd also like to see supporting female background characters who aren't entirly catty villains.
If you're a fan of virginity kink and instant love, you may enjoy this one. I look forward to watching Candice Blake grow as an author.
this was a good read.. the characters were sexy and fun. i did hope for a bit more from felix to be honest.. i felt like he kinda got.. ran over? im not sure what words im looking for exactly but it was still a good read and i enjoyed it.
It's been four years and Kingston is newly graduated and ready for his first interview. It's a very well established, very wealthy company and he took a chance even applying, but Leo, who somehow because of the "Luncher" app that he helped create, he's now on Forbes 30 under 30... which I kind of thougth was ridiculous because..... come on... but, he was still the same ol' Leo, so whatever. I was glad to see him and Graves doing so well. Big surprise for them at the end.
Felix, I wasn't sure about.... where Leo was explained as cocky and cold, but actually wasn't.... Felix actually was. I wasn't sure I was going to like him, but he surprised me. He had his reasons for being standoffish and he'd worked hard to make himself and his company what it was. I adored his business partner Conner, but the HR lady was the worst... you will not like her, and it was annoying how she set out the entire book to be against Kingston, even trying to blackmail Felix and treating Kingston like garbage, but then the last few minutes of the book, she was contrite and all was forgiven? Uhm, no.... I'm petty and I HATE when the bad people get away with being terrible. So... did not like that.
What I also didn't understand, is why it was such a big deal that Felix and Kingston developed feelings for each other. Was it ideal? No... Could it cause problems if it didn't work out? Absolutely... but they're both grown men and Felix OWNS the company... if he develops feelings for someone, why is it a career ruiner??? Made zero sense to me.
I do love, in this series, that once these guys set their sites on one another, there is no straying or changing their minds. They fell in love quickly and it was cute watching Felix lighten up and let himself be happy, and it was nice watching Kingston come into himself and stand up for himself... He was a little bit insecure for a while, and I was glad he got over that.... but really, a 21 year old who didn't know what missionary was? Didn't buy that either.
overall though, I adore this series and I love this family. I cannot wait to read Christian! 4 stars from me on this one. On to the next!
I love books like this. The angst is very low. It’s the type of book you can read if you don’t want to feel stressed out.
You know what I’m talking about? Yes?
Sometimes I’ll read a book to relax and by the time I’m finished I just know my blood pressures high. Of course, that’s not always a bad thing. I enjoy those too. But, for the most part, I’m all for these low angst books. Because they can be so romantic.
And, that’s the case with Kingston. I would probably categorize this as a “gay for you” romance book. It was so incredibly sweet. (which I freaking adore) I loved the characters. At first, I was a little iffy about Felix. When you read his first few chapters, you will understand why. But, from the very start I was drawn to Kingston. Maybe because he seems to be a little awkward at times and I can totally relate to that.
I really love the relationship the Beckford brothers have. I don’t review the storylines in books, but I can tell you that their relationship with one another is tight and beautiful. It’s definitely something I wish I had with my siblings.
This isn’t the first book by this author I’ve read, but it is the first in this series. I don’t feel like I was missing any vital information from the first book and I don’t think you have to read it in order to enjoy this one. But I do recommend that you do read book 1 first. While, I wasn’t really confused about Leo and his partner, I did wish that I knew that back story. So, I’ll be reading it tonight.
Overall, this was a pretty awesome story. I did think something “more” was going to happen with one of the characters, but she didn’t go as far as I thought she would. (one of Felix’s business partners). I can’t say much more about that without giving away information.
I do recommend this book. I think if you’re like me and enjoy low angst/insta-something/M/M romance then this is right up your ally.
**3.5** The second in the Beckford Brothers series is an enjoyable read. It can be read as a stand alone, the couple from book one are included but it doesn't confuse anything, just makes me want to read it :-) Kingston is very intelligent and going for his first job interview where he meets Felix. Felix has built his company from nothing with his two friends and see something in Kingston that makes him worth hiring, even if he goes against one friend's wishes to do it. The two men share a connection and you can feel an attraction between them but the rate at which things happen between them is insanely quick with very little time between everything to process for either men. Felix has never been attracted to a man before and Kingston has a thing for his boss, all things that smell trouble. There was also tension and drama when it comes to Felix's partner at work and the way in which it plays out was quite unsatisfying, enough so that I said "is that it?" out loud. The relationship between Felix and Kingston, though quick, makes for an adorable read and Kingston's brothers are adorably protective of him - Leo, from book one and we meet Charlie, who is over from London, for the first time. The family love and support is clear to read through the pages. I enjoyed getting to read from both character's POV with everything that was going on for each of them individually and together. It helps to understand where they are coming from and why they act and talk in certain ways. I recommend reading this book, especially if you enjoyed the first book (which I am going back to read). This one includes the may/december trope as well as employee/boss and GFY, covering a lot of bases but written well. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
I love an age gap romance and this had it with the bonus of a boss/employee aspect as well as out for you and a first time.
Kingston has graduated college and is looking for a career. When he gets an interview with Felix's company he figures there's no way he's qualified enough. Felix sees something in him and decides he's worth taking a risk on. But when a trip to Niagara Falls leaves them stuck for the night, things take a turn from business to pleasure. But there are too many roadblocks standing in their way.
First of all, the premise of the story was engaging and interesting. Like I said, the bevvy of tropes was enough to peak my interest. I liked how Kingston took his time, talked about his feelings and shared his thoughts.
I had hoped for a bit more from Felix. It felt like he was determined, yet they had hardly created an emotional attachment. I was looking for a bit more showing of their sudden love, instead of shouting from the rooftops.
It was fun to see a glimpse into the family dynamic with the addition of their older brother returning and I'm excited for the next book in this series.
Damn! I love this Beckford Brothers series by Candice Blake, and Kingston's a fantastic addition to this series.
Intrigued by Kingston from the start, Felix is drawn to hiring the young man for a tech position in his company. Their first meeting is cute and humorous, and their first time together is hot.
Now, middle aged, Felix's having a sexual discovery, suddenly feeling himself attracted to Kingston.
"Do you need a hand?"
As boss/employee, they're starting a forbidden relationship, that will add to the angst. I enjoy that the age difference doesn't seem to matter at all. And I love the way Felix helps Kingston to feel safe and protected.
Kingston's family, of course, is awesome. Supportive, loving, and close, they are all great friends as well as being brothers. I absolutely love them. As for Felix's co-worker Sarah, I just wanted to slap her.
The only thing I didn't like is the author's struggle with narratives, repeatedly using "he said." That drives me crazy. But, other than that it's a great story.
I’ve wanted king to have his own story since we met him in Leo’s book. It was worth the wait. King is the youngest in the family but he is also the most sensitive one. He thinks about things maybe that’s not such a bag thing. All he wants is what his big brothers have a good job and hopefully someone to love him. When he gets an interview for the most amazing job he can imagine he can’t believe his luck that is until he gets splashed on the way to the interview and from there he meets his future boss who happens to be the most beautiful man alive. I love the dynamic between these two and they talk things through. It’s insta but it suits the story. I would love a little novella with Leo’s wedding and so we could check in with the brothers. Really enjoyable read and can’t wait for the next one in the series.
After reading Leo, there was no way that I could pass up reading Kingston’s story.
It all starts with a job interview... one where poor Kingston get a puddle splashed all over him on his way to it by a passing car. Who knew that passing car would hold the man (Felix) he was getting interviewed by. What a cute way to meet.
This book takes place (I think) 3-4 years after Leo’s book, so it is so nice to see how Leo and Graves’ relationship has evolved.
Felix is in his 40s and has never settled down. He has been living for his company, which he built with his best friend Connor and their friend Sara 20 years ago. But when he meets Kingston, he begins to realize that he may have feelings for a man.
Their story was so sweet. So full of acceptance and love. Maybe a little insta-love-y, but hell, that DOES happen.
This is my first book from Candice Blake and I loved her characters, especially Kingston, from the first moment you meet him. His brother, Leo, is the sweetest and you feel nervous for him as he goes in for a job interview.
The relationship between Kingston and his boss, Felix, is quick, but not an unnatural one. While Felix has never been in a relationship with another man, you understand why he falls for Kingston, but it does take a bit to warm up to Felix.
With secondary characters that are realistic, some loved and some hated, I found myself really enjoying getting to know this world and these characters. Kingston truly develops from an awkward college graduate looking for a job, to someone more confident and self-assured. He's a great character and this book is a wonderful read!!
Kingston admires what his older brothers have accomplished in life and hopes to follow on a similar path. However, being the baby brother means that they also have to see him as an adult and trust that he knows what he’s doing.
Felix is driven to succeed in business. As the CEO of his company he doesn’t have the time or inclination for a relationship.
This story is their journey to acknowledge who they are and what they want from each other. They have to decide if they are strong enough to overcome a obstacle that could derail everything.
I have been waiting for Kingston’s book since I finished Leo. Kingston’s story was worth the wait!
The older brother Christian is introduced in the book and I wonder if he’s next.
This was a sweet, first time romance. Kingston is a young, recent college graduate. He's pretty much inexperienced when it comes to everything and that includes relationships. On his way to a job interview he has an unexpected event happen. When he gets to his interview looking worse for wear, he realizes that he recognizes the one of the people interviewing him. His soon to be boss Felix instantly feels a connection to Kingston. As they begin working together, they start start to explore having a relationship. Despite setbacks because of their situation as boss and employee and Kingston's overprotective brother's, they have their HEA.
I really enjoyed this GFY story. Kingston is just out of college and starting in his first job. He is a little shy and uncertain of himself and I loved watching him grow and come out of his shell. Felix is Kingston's new boss and he is shocked to find himself attracted to the young and very male Kingston. Felix tries to fight the attraction but nobody has ever made him feel the way that Kingston does.
Love the second book in this series. It's just as good as the first one. It's sweet, romantic, has May/December and first time. Kingston is young and experience and Felix is older, wiser and never been with a man. I love the storyline just flows together and it's an easy read. The friendship between Felix and Connor is great and I loved how all the brothers are so protective of Kingston. I'm looking forward to the next book.
A great story that has both age gap and boss/employee themes, Kingston works for Felix but their attraction is undeniable and they certainly can't resist. They have great chemistry and fit perfectly together. I really like that this story has little angst with a great romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I wanted to give the second book in the series a read, but for me it hasn’t improved. The writing is very good grammatically and there are little errors. But for me the book lacked angst and was too bland. Not enough happened and the main characters were boring. Would recommend if you like slow reads with little angst.
She did it again, I burnt the bacon I was cooking because I couldn't put the book down. I really can't wait for the next too and which brother finds love next.read book one then read this one. It's worth it!!
I used to buy her books on auto-pilot but less and less sex content cured me form my addiction. When she returns to Men of the Atlantic , I will reconsider my decision.
Felix le dice a King mientras estan teniendo sexo que tener sexo con él se siente diferente a tener sexo con mujeres y se lo pasa a explicar en ese mismo momento. WTF
I fell in love with Kingston and felix from the first time i met them their journey was fun intense powerful meaningfull moving and had me hooked from the first word to the very last
Dnf after 82 pages. Though the story had potential, i just didn’t like the writing style. I think it’s a bit juvenile. And some things Kingston says or ‘thinks’ contradict each other.
