I love that this approach takes into consideration the unique role that women’s hormones play in metabolism and weight loss from typically menstruating, hormone balanced teens and young women all the way to women going through all stages of menopause. It also includes a little bit of info for women with irregular menstrual cycles and hormone imbalances. I appreciate that someone FINALLY recognizes that it is not only about energy in/energy out—SO REFRESHING. It talks about how insulin and cortisol hormone balance are the foundation of weight loss, them the thyroid and adrenals need to be considered, and then estrogen and progesterone. He says that we need to address mindset, meals, metabolics (exercise) and movement. He says too often we put too much focus on just the food and the exercise. He also says that we set ourselves up for failure when we focus on the eat less/exercise more model. He explains in depth why focusing on eat less/exercise less and eat more/exercise more models are more successful. He also gives specific ways to tweak the basic plan in an attempt to help you become a metabolic detective to figure out what works best for your personal body and hormone profile. I’m excited to make an attempt to apply it to see how I do.
This was surprisingly good and helpful and full of legit information about metabolism, hormones, and holistic health. I think he's on to something here! Now to experiment with his method and find out. : )
His stuff is so good if you follow it. It’s the only workout program that’s ever gotten me the results I wanted in a sustainable way. Highly recommend.
theoretically very accessible and logical tho my biology isn't enough to fully assess that. both (theoretically) fills a gap for female biology around stress, calories, exercise, and weight, but also VERY binary (as in, only an hourglass with a toned belly is a desired shape). I'll be interested to see how the program works.
Jade showed up at time when I had to quit my functional fitness class and didn't want to quit functional fitness. I joined to get the 15 minute daily workouts but the road map surprised me in its depth and value. In combination with good health care, this book and exercise problem has helped me manage my mental/physical health.
This book made so much sense. I like implementing things into my life that seem logical. I feel like this will be great information to add to my health knowledge I already know/apply in my life. Very excited to start this program.
A lot of good information, but I'm not sure if I can handle the changes to my meals. I might be too card dependent. Hopefully I can babystep my way to a healthier lifestyle
I happened upon this book via instagram. I just figured I was finding a workout and wound up finding a major component to my 2024 health regime. Jade Teta discusses women's health in a way I am not used to hearing and I have tried the workouts and eating plans and know that they work. After reading (and re-reading) the book, so much of what Jade embraces is like the principles of a couple of other books I read about diabetes and reversing the disease. I am inspired by the process and found the book easy to digest. Sometimes these books can get a little preachy but this was more clinical and to my liking.
