A sassy fitness trainer, and an undercover billionaire, are the best recipe for this book. This book was funny and clean and easy to read, the characters were great and who wouldn’t want to know you have fallen in love with a billionaire. I loved how insecure Dirk was, when it came to Kit, but how in control he was with everything else in his life. It takes a lot to put his faith in someone and Kit is perfect for the job.
Dirk is scared of loving anyone, he keeps everyone at arms length, he is scared because of his parents’ horrible example of loving and leaving. When he meets the sassy fitness trainer, Kit Abott, he is shocked at the connection he feels, he has feelings for her is hasn’t had for anyone else but he has a big secret he is keeping from her and he’s scared to let her know. Kit holds all men at arms length, she is waiting for the perfect guy, she thinks Dirk is pretty perfect, until he get all insecure and messes it up.
Kit is flummoxed here she is on her best friend Mae's boyfriend's private jet on her way home to Sausalito from Boston and some jerk calls and says he's just bought her gym, ok it's Joe's, but still she works there as a personal trainer, and that she has two weeks to make a lot of changes! Who does he think he is? Colin Johansen, hum, she won't be forgetting his name any time soon! The next morning she starts classes as normal at 5 am. At 6 am who walks in but Dirk Miller, the hot waiter from Sushi Sticks that Mae ran into, literally, and asked Kit to take care of so she could get to Slade Steele, her boyfriend! Why is he there? What does he want? What happens after the class? Oh so much happens in a short period of time. You will want to read this great story by Cami Checketts and not put it down till the last word!
I LOVE Cami Checketts but did NOT like this book. Kit came across as a strong woman in the first book on her personal log and friendship with Mae. In this book she us flighty, flirty, and not likeable. She is on a date with "Mike" and makes out with "Dirk" by the bathroom. She openly flirts with Dirk while still on her date with Mike. Dirk treats her like crap and all she can do is whine about how much she loves him. One kissing scene was 8 pages long. I lost count of how many pages I skipped in this book just to get to the end. My least favorite book from one of my favorite authors. I hope it's just an "off" book for her and we can look forward to get other books.
It was just too goofy to go on. Billionaire, H, shy, insecure(?), going along, impersonating a waiter, under a made-up name. Gym owner wannabe, h, overly self-confident. They ‘click’. But, our overly shy, ridiculously insecure billionaire is struggling with ...something. He loves her, she loves him, he hasn’t even told her his real name....on and on it goes. The further it goes, the more absurd it gets. At chapter 11, I had enough of the goofiness, deleted it, and will move on.
I finished Mae & Slade's story earlier today and couldn't help myself - I needed to know what happened with Kit and Dirk/Colin. Ah, such a feisty, flirty, angsty couple... they were awesome! The turmoil, the mess, the explosions... just my kind of story. 😍
PS Everytime the book mentioned Dirk as the Undercover Boss, I couldn't help but think of Kylo Ren in the Saturday Night Live skit. 🙊🤣
I liked the story although thought from the start that Colin was making a mistake by not telling Kit who he really is. And when he first starts pursuing her, he keeps saying he doesn't date. No wonder Kit is confused about him. A lot of funny scenes as Kit starts to figure out that he is not just a waiter. His driving a luxury rental car got her wondering. I loved that his dad finally tells him the truth about some things in the past, which helps Colin change how he was acting towards Kit.
Oh! What a lovely but flawed couple. It was so fun to read as Dirk was able to fall in love, to learn to love himself, and overcome his fears of being unworthy. It was great that they didn’t let anger, deceptions, and insecurities keep them apart for long. Be prepared to laugh, to cry, and to celebrate love with Kit and Dirk.
I loved how the two players had to work hard to make a relationship work! Kit was used to dating for fun, no real commitment. Dirk/Collin never wanted a relationship, but there was no way he was going to give up his perfect match once he found her! Lots of kissing/making up!
Well written for readers that enjoy G rated Hallmark movies. Unrealistic just like Hallmark stories that have more intentional kisses that aren't interrupted by the elevator opening, so that sassed up the rating to another G. Perfect for young Christian women who believe there's a virginal billionaire gorgeous viral man. Cute.
Really enjoyed the sparks between these two characters. Ok, they were both a bit full of themselves to begin with. However, it was good how all the 'mixed up' relationships get sorted out before the end. A good read.
I was hooked on this book from the beginning. The flirting between Kit and Dirk was adorable and fun. The whole book was emotional in one way or another. I did a lot of laughing, then I did some crying. Trust trust trust!
Of course I loved this book too....I have loved ALL of Camis books. Her talent for a sweet clean romance is amazing. These two, Kit and Dirk, er, Colin were fun characters.
Kit and Colin are a great pair of skeptic want to be romantics. If anyone could or would want to be together or not together it would be these two. Go along for a bumpy romantic ride .
I believe the theme is illustrating forgiveness & honesty in relationships. The ruse worked well in business but not so well when he met an interesting girl. Fun, clean, entertaining story
I wanted to give this 3 1/2, but couldn’t, so it got a 4. I don’t know what to say - there was nothing wrong with it. It’s just a super, super cheesy - completely suspending reality - romance novel. Fun for an afternoon when I was sick. I’m putting this same review on it’s companion novel.
A good clean fun romance with instant attraction and misunderstandings. I love undercover boss stories! I love Cinderella stories! This is both! Wahoo! This does have some religious moments but that is all. Nothing preachy, hallelujah!
Another great story to follow up on Kit and Dirk. You had the sense something was off in Book 1...you find out in Book 2. All the deception and confusion weaves a great love story and you can’t help rooting for them to figure it out!
Boy! Things were really up and down, over and over again. It became a bit much! It was crazy intense and not exactly in the best way. But I wanted to read Kit and Dirk’s story. Also, that title was really off-putting!
Hold on to your hat because this is a roller coaster of a ride. Talk about messed up people and their wealth. The resolution was too easy. Other than that, a book that I could not put down.
As far as Christian romances go a perfect ten. As a once in a lifetime opportunity not As a realistic romance. Loved seeing the characters from the last story. Cute quick read.
There were a few mistakes but they were easy to read around. I wasn’t sure that Kit would say yes to marrying Colin since she was a Christian and he wasn’t. It was an easy read and I really loved Kit’s independence.
This is a clean romance, but it is more about a quick connection than a slow burn. I enjoyed it. The "difficulty " seemed a bit dramatic and contrived. I liked the characters. Clean, contemporary romance.
Another great read by the author, Cami Checketts, who is my preferred author of choice because her stories are compelling, swoony, and sweet. This one did not disappoint, did not want to put it down!
This sweet and clean romance will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. These two have a hard time but you will love every minute as they figure it out.
