This book should be the second novel you read in French, right after you read "Merde, It's Not Easy to Learn French", volume 1 in this series!Reading a book in French can be difficult, even for advanced students. French novels are usually full of idiomatic expressions. They use complicated tenses, complex sentence structures, and often slang. The books in this series are in simple French. They tell of the joys and the frustrations of an adult learning French. You'll find a good dose of humor, exercises, and illustrations.
Note: this book contains adult language.
The book has two sections, allowing more levels of French students to enjoy it.
Section 1 has the story written completely in French, and includes grammar exercises. Section 2 contains the complete translation in English and the answers to the exercises.
With over 30,000 books sold, France Dubin's novels are so engaging, you don't even notice you are reading French! Her fun books in easy French have helped thousands of adult students.
I cannot believe that I read a story totally in French! Often I forgot I was reading in French because I got so caught up with Helen and the other French Students relatable tales of their journeys of learning French. I found myself laughing out loud and other times intently reading to find out what was going to happen next. I could not put the book down. I love the characters so much! Such a great way to learn French!
More of the same diary-format reading with mild suspense, French revision, and occasional laugh-out-loud moments in fairly easy to read French. I estimate there are about 16000 words of text to read in this one, so a fair amount of practice. Recommended for English-speaking adults learning French.
