The author of the stand-alone series of Small Town Bachelor Romances brings readers I've Got You, a story of what happens when love finds a way in through the cracks of our armor.
A sudden windfall brings Edie to an odd little town in search of herself, and some much needed peace and quiet. She’s got no time for male attention, especially not from Lane, the town’s charming golden boy.
Will Lane’s actions prove to her that charm and substance can coexist? Will she believe he’s always going to have her back?
Edie is done being used by her boyfriend, and when she gets word that she inherited her friend's estate, she sees it as the chance to start over, and mourn her loss. Shortly after arriving, she sees a sexy man that her eyes are continually drawn to, but she just got out of a bad relationship and believes she needs to take a sabbatical.
Lane knows Edie is special, not to mention beautiful, the second he sees her, but tries to remain professional as she's a client of his dad's business, that he works for when needed. It's just one of his many jobs around town, one of them being mayor. There aren't a lot of opportunities to find love, not that it matters anyway as he knows Edie is it for him. He just needs to convince her they belong together.
Can Lane show Edie he's nothing like her ex? Will Edie take a chance on love and building a foundation in her new town? How will people react to their pairing? Is she worried about that for nothing? Or are her concerns valid? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as soulmates are brought together by fate and discover their forever.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**
Cute and sweet read. Edie flees her life to a small town where a close friend has left her everything and she has a chance to start over. Lane is pretty much the towns golden boy and the sweetest guy. These two were just a sweet couple, I adored them. Safe read, with some dirty talking and a guy that knows what he wants...like nowish. No ow drama, a little bs with her ex, but they handle him. Baby batter, epilogues...plural and an hea.
Edie was in the worst relationship she could have been in when it came to her finances and sanity. Her boyfriend was nothing but a spoiled mamas boy who couldn’t do anything for himself. She has enough when they stopped at a gas station and she got out of the car. Once she got out of the car he never even noticed she wasn’t beside him and she locked the car doors and told him he needed to find a way home.
Edie was more than happy to get away from him and she knew exactly where she wanted to be. Right where Mrs. Lacy had loved living for so long. She missed her and knew that she could make it work in Mrs. Lacey’s house that she has inherited. So off to Mrs. Lacey’s she went.
In comes Lane the local golden boy who has at least 6 jobs including Mayor of their town. But he can’t help but notice just how beautiful Edie is when he meets her. They have a chemistry they can’t deny. But he knows that he will have to show this curvaceous beauty just how much he means business when it comes to her.
I absolutely loved everything about Edie and Lane. They had some amazing chemistry between them. I really loved how much Edie felt for Lane even though he wasn’t the normal guy that she would go for. But they were meant for each other.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. This was a charming story, but it was sorely lacking in substance. The couple's declarations of love came out of nowhere. When and how did this occur.? One day Lane just blurted out that he loved Edie and wanted to marry her and have babies. Edie put up token resistance, but confessed that she loved Lane too. There was just absolutely no basis, that I could find, that warranted these declarations of undying love. Additionally, I don't feel that Lane's and Edie's characters were fully fleshed out, which made the story seem rather flat. The “conflicts” seemed to be somewhat contrived, and did not mesh well with the story. More work is needed here, but I did like Lane and Edie.
I've Got You by Abby Knox is a small town romance set in Idaho.
Edie isn't happy in her relationship so when she gets a chance to move to Idaho, she literally runs away from Atlanta and ends up in a small town where she plans to open her own bookstore. Lane, the mayor of the town, helps her take care of a few things and later ends up as her personal trainer at the gym. Sparks fly immediately.
The romance was good enough but my problem as always with these novella length books is no thought given whatsoever to conflict resolution. Edie's hormonal disbalance was cured miraculously and she fell pregnant without even trying, it made me feel like the author abused the issue for simply giving some kind of strength to the plot.
Writing is serviceable but I never attached to either of the MCs. I didn't believe they had any connection, let alone a physical one, lol.
I also seriously disliked the way the heroine "broke up" with her bf at the beginning of the book: I HATE that she didn't stand up for herself with her [live in] bf. She just got some news (an inheritance), ditched him at a gas station without saying jackshit and rolled.
Then ghosted him. No. That is not how you do things. She should have at least broken up with him. Damn! Plus, WTF was up with his parents being loaded but him mooching off of her to make it. Why would he need so much money from HER if HIS parents are loaded - especially with the comments about his parents bailing him out again?
Whateves. I was bored so I DNF'd but flipped to the end. MeEEEEH
Let me say ... I double-dare you not to love the hero, Lane Myers! He is everything! He is exactly what the new town resident, Edie Mays needs in her life. Lane moves her into her new house, he shows her a property listing, he cleans, decorates and organizes. Lane is a busy man, with all the jobs mentioned (there's more) AND he's The Mayor!
Lane is totally smitten and before long the feelings are mutual. Yes, this story moves quickly and they know fairly quickly that they want to be exclusive. When a blast from Edie's past comes to claim a few things that no longer belongs to him. Lane steps in and it gets very interesting with Edie's permission.
I enjoyed this story and wanted more especially after reading the epilogues. Recommended: Read It!
How can a phone call completely change someone's life? Edie's life has been completely wrecked by her too charming, entitled, lazy boyfriend. He has ruined her life, her credit, and her education. When she receives a phone call that her friend Lacey has passed away and left her everything, it is like a dream come true. So off she goes to start her life anew in a new town in the Midwest. Its a bit of culture shock for this hilarious lady to go from Atlanta to the friendliest town ever. But she has a plan and it doesn't involve a relationship, ever again. When the most handsome and hot guy in town keeps turning up, she just might have to change her mind about getting involved.
I laughed and chortled my way through I've Got You! Edie's internal monologue is the best. I would kill to hear this in audio, it is meant to be read aloud. Edie has had nothing but trouble at the hands of her ex. To have the opportunity to start fresh somewhere else, who wouldn't jump at the chance? She sees this as a gift and runs with it. Lane is so sweet, hot, attentive, he is the perfect book boyfriend! The two of them together are unstoppable and I loved them! I adored everything about this book, it was simply amazing!
I received an advance review copy of this book in exchange for posting an honest review.
Edie's view of men isn't the greatest. Especially after the headache her last boyfriend caused. So when she meets Lane the town Golden Boy can she trust that he's what he seems?
Lane is the youngest town Mayor, he's also a physical trainer at his sister's gym, helps out at the local pet store, and lends a hand to any and all who need it. He's definitely not the type of guy that Edie is used to. But maybe that's what make him perfect for her!
Abby Knox can always be counted on for fabulous feel good romance!!! This is the first I have read of her Small Town Bachelor romance series but it definitely won't be the last!
Edie N Lane absolutely sizzle! It's so much fun to watch the sparks fly between them! Lane is on a mission to win his woman but he has to break through the walls around her heart first, that's okay because he has the muscles to do it! Hehe 😉
While riding in a car with her boyfriend and feeling miserable about her life, one phone call changed it all. After literally dumping him at a gas station, she picked up her cat, her stuff, and started a new life in a small town. She started out wanting to keep to her self, but the fine main man of the town wouldn’t have it. Never give up on your happy
What a great sweet small time romance read this was. Edie fresh out of a dead end relationship ends up In a small town, where she meets Lane, and holy instant attraction. These two both see what they want in each other, but takes them a bit longer to get there with one another.
This small town romance was a quick fun read and I really enjoyed it! Edie and Lane’s story was sexy, sweet and just the right amount of funny. I have really loved the entire Small Town Bachelor series and this latest story did not disappoint!
Abby Knox does a wonderful job of creating an incredibly swoon-worthy hero in Lane Meyers. He drips with sexy, sugary goodness and will make anyone want to run out to Iowa to find someone just like him.
I give this Five Stars for great story-telling. I have never cared for small-town romances, but the author sucked me in with her blurb and now I’m interested in reading the rest of her Small-Town Bachelor Series.
There were quite a few things that I just couldn't stand about this one. I've read plenty of romance novels with a woman of color as the main character. There have been a few that have been cringe worthy and others that I've just absolutely loved. This story, while not cringe worthy there was definitely a lot that I couldn't get past. For instance: Why does the trainer have to be racist? Not one single remark that she said ever came across as her being a racist, and yet at the neighborhood party Edie is all for throwing it up in the air that because Rachel had conflicts with her she's racist. Edie's body shape kept going from slender to curvy...so which is she? I also didn't care for how Edie just kept going on and on about how she moved to this hopunk white town and she seems to be the only woman of color, so she just automatically assumes that they wouldn't have anything around that she could use in regards to toiletries or hairdressers. I mean seriously woman, you just inherited so much money...if you have that much of an issue then she should've just moved!
I’ve Got You is book 6 in the Small Town Bachelor Romance series; Lane kept himself busy and when he meets Edie there is an instant attraction to the newest member of his town.
Edie was in a very deep financial hole, one that her boyfriend dug for her; when she received a life changing phone call she literally drives off leaving a plume of dust behind her. Moving to a new town she finds the yummy Lane moving out the auction furniture, then again at the real estate company; to top it off he is the town Mayor.
I personally enjoyed reading I’ve Got You; when sparks start to fly and dreams start coming true nothing can beat the insta love that Lane and Edie find.
A woman moves to a small town after inheriting a ton of money from a deceased author. Why she was the sole beneficiary was never really fleshed out with any depth. We're told that she knew the lady and helped her with her last book. Boom. She gets all the cash and the large home. Doesn't have to work anymore. Oh, if life was that simple. Anyway, the heroine leaves her shiftless boyfriend behind at a truck stop and of course, upon moving into town, meets the hottest guy around. One who happens to have a million jobs. so, she's constantly running into him everywhere she goes. Sparks fly, instalove ensues, and well, that's about it. Short and sweet. But not very memorable.
I adored every second of this small town romance novel surrounding Edie and Lane! Lane and Edie in I've Got You were simply the cutest; that small town feeling with the newcomer that gets integrated, and the homegrown community member that falls head over heels in love. Their story was adorable, the secondary characters thoroughly entertaining, and I adore Ransack the cat! This story showcases the importance of being true to yourself no matter the circumstances, and I simply adored how Abby chose to present this to the reader! I cannot wait for another read in this quaint town!
I enjoyed this hot and sweet small town romance! After receiving some bad news Edie drives to her new home to start a new life where she meets Lane. Lane is a sweetheart and you couldn’t help but adore him! Lane and Edie’s chemistry was amazing! I definitely recommend this if you enjoy insta-love stories!
By my normal reading standards this one would be a little short, but it was perfect in every way. I loved Edie her sass her determination her out and out chutzpah, perfect. And I could not imagine a better partner for life for her than Lane, what a honey.
What a great book! Finished it so fast. I really enjoyed it. Must read. Why wasn't there more to this book?! I was supposed to go to bed but just couldn't out it down
