Going into this book, a part of me was hoping that I would see Kelsea try to move on from Nick and him have to fight to keep her. But that's not what we got and I'm actually really happy for that. Instead Kelsea was strong through this entire book and never gave up on Nick. Which I loved so much more that her moving on. It really showed how confident she was in her feelings and how sure she was that Nick was her happy ending. Seeing her be strong for him when he couldn't was so sweet it just about broke my heart.

There was a lot of emotion thrown into the story between the both of them, but especially Nick. He had the potential to be a jerk about his feelings for Kelsea but that just wasn't who he was. He was a kind guy that was dealing with a lot of things and when he let his guard down and allowed Kelsea to help him it turned this book into the most adorable romance I've read in a long time.

Overall, this was a brilliant story that hit me right in the feels. I was honestly surprised by how sweet the relationship was between Kelsea and Nick but I loved every moment of it.

What a wonderful story. The feels, OMG the feels.

First let me say this series is second generation so if you want to meet the parents check out the Moonshine Task Force series. Laramie Briscoe does these families and their histories proud!

Kelsea has had feelings for her best friend's brother forever. Nick feels it's safer not to show his feelings or get too attached. Kelsea is tired of waiting and decides to try and get her man. This will not be an easy task as Nick is still dealing with demons from his childhood. This story unfolds at a wonderful pace and I was enraptured with it. There are many ups and down and some very emotional moments. I was especially to get a couple of extra POV's in this one that really helped you understand how close these families are.

Great addition to the series.

I absolutely fell in love with Kelsea and Nicks story. It was sweet, angsty & drew me in from the beginning. Nick keeps everyone at arms length cause he is terrified of letting anyone close of enough to hurt him cause of his past and Kelsea is probably the only person who could. These two together were absolutely perfect and this might be my favorite Laramie Briscoe book but Nick certainly is my favorite Hero!!

I’ve been waiting for this story. With Stella and Ransom things just flowed. This was a battle field.
"If you’re there,” – she lifts our clasped fingers – “then I’m always ready for what’s waiting on me.”- Kelsey
This book was sooo sad but it made me swoon like a loon 😂😍. Laramie Briscoe has a way of making everyday life simply beautiful. She doesn’t make unnecessary plots and shenanigans but real love. Real love is slow and complicated and kind of messy and these characters give us that in spades. It’s lovely to see how they transition as friends and lovers.
We all want someone to be as passionate about us as Kelsey. Unfortunately, sometimes we meet a guy like Nick who just doesn’t know his worth yet and time makes him into the man he needs to be. It is not for the weak it takes time and effort to make things like this work. Kelsey was the woman for the job and their love was stronger for it 😍😍.
This kept making me cry ugly tears. That being said it was so worth it! Go give this a read or a listen ❤️!

So much love….

I was thrilled to be back in Laurel Springs – among a group of family and friends that loved and laughed and banded together when needed to protect their own. Nick had been adopted by a loving family as a teenager but that didn’t take away from the horrific start of his life. One he couldn’t completely let go of. Kelsea had loved Nick from afar for a long time. Maybe too long. It was time to move forward or move on…

Nick and Kelsea’s romance was everything I'd hoped for. The push and pull, the heart-aching emotion, had me feeling their pain, their uncertainty, at every step. This author knows how to quietly peel away the layers of her characters to slowly, but with arrow precision, reveal their innermost fears and anxiety. Kelsea’s stubbornness, even facing Nick’s quiet determination to keep her at arms’ length, was a testament to her love and stubbornness. I couldn’t help but fall a little in love with them both.

The epilogues squeezed my heart one last time and capped this story in the best way. If you haven’t read this series, heck - anything by this author, you are missing out. ~Diane, 4.5 stars

Suppression is book two in the Laurel Springs ERT series and while each book can be read as a standalone, if you have followed the Moonshine Task Force series you feel like your family has grown and couldn’t be happier. One thing I loved that the author did in the beginning of the book is list out who each person was from Moonshine to this spin-off. It helped not only for those first-time readers, but for us who have read her prior books and knew the friends/family, but down the road blurred these characters together since it may have been awhile since you read those books. This truly helps you enjoy the story and know which character stemmed from where or who may be leading into their own story if not already one out there. You are never felt like you are missing out on anything reading her stories as she always makes sure to fill you in to ensure you love each book.
Truly emotional, well written and the chemistry between these two were in the making for a long time. Nick had a rough life until the Kepler’s came into his live and you will see that Kelsea has always been the friend who was there for Nick even when she wanted to be so much more. Nick still struggles with his demons and doesn’t believe love exists from his experience even though he sees so many of his family have the type of love he secretly yearns for. Kelsea is strong and knows it won’t be easy but is going to step up and know the battle hill will be worth it.
Grab some tissues cause you will be trying to read through cloudy eyes with how this story unfolds. You will get sad tears and happy tears. We even get bonus chapters (you will see as you read is all I will say) that allow your heart to expand even more than it already did reading this story. Once you start reading this story you are going to want to read it in one sitting, trust me. There is so much more I want to say, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers so please just read this book cause you will not be disappointed. There is not a book by this author that you will not fall in love with. Each time you read a new story by her, she leaves an imprint on your heart and gives a message to others who may have experienced some of these events that shows you being hurt in the past can lead to a better life. Without those experiences while sad, it makes you who you are now and that is to be the better person in life.
I’m loving how this family continues to grow as a family (both at work and as family/friends) and I cannot wait to see who is next in line. I highly recommend this book or any book written by this author to others.

When I read about Nick in the previous book, he was best friends with Ransom, I knew his story would just break your heart. And man my heart was so touched by this story. Nick didn't have the easiest life so you can understand his feelings toward relationships and love. But he knew that Kelsea was his person. He also knew he wasn't the person for her, he couldn't give her what she wanted, the man she deserved. But he underestimated Kelsea's love for him.
Kelsea knew that Nick was the man for her never mind what he believes. She just knew that he had to be shown that he deserves love, that he deserves happiness and most of all he deserves her. And she was the women who would show him exactly how this was going to work.

Some parts I felt sorry for Kelsea because I felt like she was giving so much of herself, but never getting anything in return from Nick. But I also commend her for being such a strong person. The one who would hold on for their love and make him see the life he could have. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

OMG where do I start without giving away any spoilers. First of all I LOVE Nick and had so many emotions regarding what he went through as a kid and how he managed to survive and become the loving caring but very guarded man he is today. Kelsea is just the kind of strong but compassionate woman Nick needs but he's too afraid to let go with his feelings. They have a lot of back and forth, push and pull before they realize what they both need to be fulfilled.
Some tragic but fateful events happen that brings them closer together and as usual with this author, she manages to bring the sweet and tender along with the hot and steamy to make this another very engaging and enjoyable book. I loved it!

I am so emotional and happy to see Nick grows up to be the man he has to be.. No more suppressions and he blooms into an ultimate alpha man. Kelsey just loves Nick even from the start that in the beginning you want to shake and wake her up but she never gives up and the epilogues are the best.
I hope the legacy will continue and we will also have D-man story in the future.
Being with the Moonshine Task Force family is always awesome and I can't always get enough of this amazing world.

WOW! I think this may be my favorite so far in the Laurel Springs world. This is the second book in the next gen series but honestly, the author gave us all the feels in this one. Both Kelsea and Nick have hearts of gold and watching that blossom, was just a great journey to be on as a reader.

Nick feels that he is somehow not worthy of the life he has been given and therefore pushes people to the edge--never letting them in too close in case everything gets stripped away. Bet his friends know him well and Kelsea is his best friend. Taking that leap together takes faith and thank goodness, Kelsea helped him realize he was worth the leap.

Lots going on in this one. Some very poignant tears and smiles of joy. Great to see all the dads again and meddling moms. Loved it to pieces.

From the glimpses we have gotten into Nick’s past in other books I knew that I was going to be in for an emotional roller coaster ride when I began Suppression. What I wasn’t prepared for was exactly how emotionally driven it would be and that my heart would ache for days to come after finishing it. Be prepared to have Nick Kepler shake up your emotions and steal a piece of your heart.

Kelsea and Nick have known each other for years, their families are very close and Nick works with her dad and brother, so a lot is at stake if things went bad. The push and pull between them is not only strong but at times threatens what is beginning to form when Nick pulls away. Healing is a strong message in their story, the healing of the wounds that still are raw for Nick and I don’t mean physical ones, as well as healing someone who reminds Nick of his very own past.

Suppression is another hit for Laramie Briscoe, she has the ability to make you feel like you are a part of the family of the characters she writes. Make sure you have Suppression on your TBR lists!

I have been simultaneously dying for this book and dreading it. I’m not a hardcore angst fan and I knew that this book was going to put me through the ringer...I was right. This book had my stomach in knots, my heart in my throat, and butterflies dancing. I couldn’t put it down!

Keys and Nick’s story was an emotional one. It was so easy to get lost in their story. They were such endearing characters, I fell in love with them. Their love and passion and pain was palpable. Briscoe really did this couple justice. It makes me want to go back to the start and reread them all again.

Wonderful story. Great series. Unforgettable characters.

Another winner from the author. I've been a fan since the beginning with these characters and now their kids are grown and having kids of their own. One big family. Most of the time happy. All of the time behind each other.

Kelsea has had a crush and felt love for Nick. He'd been a friend but never let it go further. He has a dark past. Still, he came into the light when he was adopted by the best family who loves him the same way they love their daughter--who is besties with Kelsea. So why not let the past go?

A friend who pointed me to the book before I realized it was coming out told me how ironic the story is. Perfect description but you'll have to read to find out. Can Nick get past his past? How about Kelsea, will she be able to hold out for him to find his way? Then there is another who wants to put a permanent barrier between them.

The best reason in the world comes into the picture. Can doing the right thing remove all the barriers? Steamy, emotional, great characters and storyline. A book not to miss.

Suppression, LSERT #2, by Laramie Briscoe

I have read and loved every book in the Moonshine Task Force. I also read Book 1 of the LSERT series, loved it too. Suppression, might have stolen a part of my heart. Nick Kepler, I just wanted to reach out and give that man a giant hug. There were moments in the book that my heart cried for him. Kelsea, she was a force to be reckoned with. She has loved Nick for so long, but will he ever find it in him to love her back? When circumstances out of their control throw a wrench in the plans, will they have the strength to overcome?

This book didn't have an overly amount of steam, but considering the storyline, what was there, fit. There were moments I laughed, I cried (literally had tears and snot everywhere), and I might have screamed at my kindle a time or two.

If you are a fan of the Moonshine Task Force, you definitely need to pick this baby up. If you love a good cop romance, this is an excellent choice. I look forward to the next book in the series. I am hoping it is going to be Tucker's!!!!

FINALLY we have Kelsea and Nick’s story and boy did it not disappoint! Nick had a rough life before he was adopted by the Kepler’s and still has issues that stem from his childhood, one of which is forming relationships. Kelsea has always held a torch for Nick and finally gets to the point where she might start giving up. Thankfully, Nick finally makes a move, but after making that move retreats into himself. Kelsea recognizes what Nick is doing, and decides to not let him take his typical route and continues to take it slow with him and be there for him as a friend first. When Nick’s professional and personal life collide, Kelsea is right by his side helping him to do not only what’s right, but helping Nick. With some more battles to break through, we thankfully get Kelsea her HEA that she so desperately wants with the guy she wants it with. Of course, another great read from Laramie and I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!!

Kelsea has been in love with Nick for years. Nick, however, is afraid of having a relationship because of his past. They finally are beginning a tentative relationship when Nick responds to a child welfare check twice for the same boy. In the blink of an eye, he and Kelsea have a family.

I enjoyed the first book in the series, and I really liked this one as well. Since everyone in the cast of characters are either related or practically family, there is a lot of character crossover but these are standalone books. I liked how Kelsea finally asked Nick for what she wanted, and wouldn't put up with his avoidance after. I also liked how Nick finally got his head out of his behind and dealt with his feelings. But most of all, I love so much how Nick was with Darren. He and Kelsea are exactly what that boy needed and he is just what Nick needed as well.

This next generation series is every bit as good as the Moonshine Task Force series, it’s fabulous having the old characters with the grown children.

Nick is such a complex character but one you can’t help but love and admire his many fabulous qualities. Kelsea is also fabulous, she is a strong, caring, family oriented woman who has a huge heart.

The drama and suspense element in this story once again has you going through the emotions from anger to fear. This author really knows how to get her readers to be participants in the story through her emotive language. Likewise there is laughter and happiness too. 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend you read Stella’s story first before this to enhance the experience.

Suppression is Book 2 of the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team (LSERT) series. It's an emotional roller-coaster, so buckle up. I didn't realize I had read this one before, but it was worth the re-read. It's a steamy, friends-to-lovers romance. Nick is a hunk who suffered abuse growing up and has feelings of being worthless and unworthy of love. Kelsea has been his best friend and keeps trying to show him he is worthy of love. Can she convince him? There are so many emotions in this book. We do get steam and hot chemistry but so much angst. I felt so bad for Kelsea at times, but I am glad she didn't give up on her man. We do get a happy ending that is worth it.

I have a feeling no matter what I say this review will not do this amazing book any justice. I will say it was a very emotional read for me since the author did such an amazing job writing this book. I loved it from the first page all the way to the ending. My heart hurt so much in the beginning, then by the end of was filled with happiness.
Nick and Kelsea have known each other since they were kids. One fateful night brings the both of them together. Nick has a hard exterior, but a soft interior. He has a bigger heart than he believes. Kelsea is a beautiful young woman who has loved Nick for as long as she can remember. She shows him what love is, and what his life could be like if he would let her in. Life definitely throws them some curveballs, but through it all they have each other.

Oh my goodness!! My heart literally broke for Nick. I mean I knew his story was going to be heart wrenching but I was a sobbing mess. Nick is always in his head when it comes to anything and everything but especially Kelsea. She has practically been in love with Nick since he was adopted by the Keplers. Nick is so caught up in where he came from and who he thinks he is that he can’t see what is right in front of him and that is Kelsea and her love. Then Darren gets introduced with his past eerily similar to Nick’s and my heart breaks all over again. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!! I highly recommend this book!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Nick's story broke my heart. We totally get to see what he is the way he is. I'm glad he found a strong woman, who didn't give up on him. This story warmed my hear. Especially with Darren. This story was great. I felt like there was so much build up for this book from Ransom's book and the author clearly didn't disappoint. Nick and Kelsea's chemistry was off the charts and she really loved him and was able to make him overcome his past. Great read and great addition to the series. Hopefully we see Tuckers book next!!!

Ever read a book that the characters just click. And you are dying for them to be together and for a HEA?

I wanted all that and so much more with this book! This book is THE book for me. I love all of Laramie's writing but this one took it to a different level for me. The plot. The storyline. I was just hooked and couldn't put it down. I devoured it in one setting.

If anyone deserves love and happiness, it is Nick and Kels. Through the ups and downs, you will love them and cheer them on. It was definitely a book I needed to read and didn't know it.

Nick has not had the easiest life and letting someone like Kelsea in has been near impossible no matter how she makes him feel. When a little boy reminds him of himself and he will do anything to help him, even letting the one person who has always been there in behind his walls. Wow! This book broke my heart so many times over. After reading Ransom I was dying for Nick's story and boy was I rewarded in this story. So great that I never wanted it to end. Highly Recommend this book, series and author.

I absolutely love Laramie and her writing. These shows just how well she can write. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. Gripping lovable characters a great storyline. A moment where I had to hold my breath not knowing what was going to happen. This one is about Nick and Kelsea. Nick is a police officer who had a very rough childhood until he was adopted giving the chance at a better life. But the past still haunts him to where he doesn't know if he can love anyone. But Kelsea is a whole different story for Nick. Things change between them when he deals with a little boy that is in the same situation he was in. Will these two make it together or will someone tear them apart? Will Nick be able to get over his past and be happy? I absolutely loved Nick and Kelsea together. These two have amazing chemistry. This was one amazing storyline very well written enjoyable characters.

Suppression is book two in the Laurel Springs EMT series and is Nick and Kelsea’s story. Nick is the ultimate broken hero and my favorite kind. The man is surrounded by true love in the form of his adoptive parents and his sister and best friend, but still feels completely unworthy of being loved. Kelsea has been in love with Nick forever, and after their one night together, she’s more determined than ever to not give up on the idea of them. She’s determined to be strong enough for both of them and be there for him now more than ever. Watching Nick give in and finally believe he’s worthy of the love that he and Kelsea have hit me in all the feels. Great read! Pick it up today.

Y’all, this book will get you in all the feels. It will leave you heartbroken and overjoyed, and angry and smiling. First, we get to see our good friends from the first LSERT book, Ransom. If you haven’t read it, go back and do so. I think you could enjoy Suppression without reading it, but I’m not sure why you’d want to. Ms. Brisco has created a large and wonderful book universe that this book ties into.

Suppression’s story follows Nick and Kelsea. They are the best friends to a newly married couple and friends themselves. But Kelsea wants more and has loved NIck for years. Nick is still dealing with a traumatic childhood and learning to let love in. Seeing that angst and love and strength and vulnerability unfold for both made for a one of a kind book!

Kelsea may be one of my favorite character’s written by Ms. Briscoe. She’s smart, she’s strong, she’s patient. And when she decides to put her feelings on the line, she does so with grace and compassion. She’s an unfailing friend, yet despite this list of attributes, she’s still a truly relatable woman with breakdowns and tears and struggles. I wasn’t sure what to make of Nick as we came into this story. He had a brief introduction in the MTF series; then we saw him in Ransom as a young man. He’s obviously making good choices and a classic strong police officer. Reading his backstory was both eye-opening and frustrating and joyful. He reminds me a bit of the Winnie-the-Pooh character Eyeore, part of the crowd, but on the edge and not happy and not-unhappy. So to see how he and Kelsea partner up and take on the world was a truly amazing read!

We knew from the blurb that Kelsea was attracted to Nick. A few chapters in we saw some of NIck’s feelings for Kelsea. The attraction and chemistry was there, but it led a real life twisty-turny path. But no matter the path, Nick showed he was unable to withstand the pull of his attraction to Kelsea and make use of some x-rated skills.

The beginning of this book pulled the long time reader in quickly, and then delved into this books plot. It was a fun way to connect the stories. All along the plotline, the writing had me experiencing the characters emotions to keep me reading as quickly as possible. The dialogue, friendships, family ties, and great world building that Ms. Briscoe has woven into this story are some of her finest.

I loved this books Epilogues. Keep reading to the second one, as those last few pages seal the deal on this book. Suppression to me seems an end of an era for the MTF family, but I know there are many secondary characters with stories left to tell that belong to the LSERT. I have no doubt that their stories will be as amazing and intriguing!
