Lawrence Derrickson never wanted to be a chief, let alone a vampire, but fate has always been a fickle beast…callous to the inner-workings of a man’s heart.
Seven hundred years after he was turned, he’s still chief of Clan Karyn, although his clan now consists of only his three siblings. With no more castle to protect and defend, they are dedicated to only one cause—protecting the Cheld—their superhuman descendants.
Lawrence longs for a different life—a life of his own passions, desires, and dreams—but duty drives him further from that with each passing century of protecting the Cheld. Until their mission brings him to Stone Haven. In saving a fledgling Cheld, Alessandra Fiore, he meets her best friend, Toni O’Neill, a human woman who seems to understand him better than anyone has in over ten lifetimes. Too bad she’s already taken.
Lawrence Derrickson is off limits. Or so Toni has been telling herself ever since the first time she saw him. Sure, Lawrence is a devastatingly handsome vampire, but she has a boyfriend—one who’s safe and comfortable, if not exciting or reliable or trustworthy. Besides, what would someone like Lawrence want with her? Toni’s fast approaching thirty, and she still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. But her heart urges her to take a chance and leave her predicable life behind her to explore the inner-workings of Lawrence’s heart.
Lawrence feels he’s finally found a home, and the love of his long life in Toni, but trouble soon finds him in Stone Haven, forcing him to decide what matters most—desire or duty. Family or his own heart.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 💋💋 This is becoming one of the best paranormal series I’ve read . Beautifully written , wonderful characters and the storyline is so good , it makes for thoroughly addictive reading. I sat half the night reading this and was totally hooked . Lawrence was a favourite of mine in the Border Series , in this series I’m so ready to be his slave , he’s tender thoughtful and loves Toni with a passion . She in return feels the same , but so many unknown issues and circumstances arise that could keep them from finding peace and harmony together. Kenton and Alessandra are also making another appearance as are Laria , Torr and Drake . This is such a good book, if you love paranormal you won’t go wrong reading this one . I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review
This series just gets better I can not wait to read the next book in the Bloodwite by Cecelia Mecca. A well written book this is Lawrence and Toni's story. Lawerence is a seven-hundred-year-old vampire and Toni is the human he comes to love. I would say to get the best effect of this series start with book one. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
From Scotland 1274 to present day, this tale will take you on an unforgettable journey. Two seven hundred year old vampires Kenton and Lawrence had come to Stone Haven to protect a Cheld, Alexandra which was the first book in this series. This story is about Lawrence and Alexandra's friend Toni, who he was strongly drawn to, but unfortunately she had a boyfriend. Really? With a tall, blond hair, green eyed beyond handsome vampire who stares at her with a look that almost melts her on the spot? But Toni could not understand his attraction to her. Approaching thirty and working two jobs to make ends meet with no real direction, she was no prize. But a girl can only be so strong and Lawrence seems to be such a great guy, even though there is a lot underneath that charming exterior. What she does not realize is he really loves her but there are a lot of forces that can get in between their happiness and pull them apart. Cecelia Mecca is truly an amazing author. I am addicted to her Border series and to pull characters from those stories into the future with this series has utterly fascinated me and made me enjoy these stories even more! Her words and descriptions seem to flow so effortlessly that I could almost feel I was there and looking down as the story unfolded. Do not miss this book or the first one in the series. Oh yes, you will love them!

Sure, Lawrence is a devastatingly handsome vampire, but she has a boyfriend Great characters, well written well paced story & two people whose feelings for each other reach out to you. Lawrence & Toni are meant for each other but their fledgling relationship can only progress once she’s free. Lawrence is sigh worthy, I fell for him in earlier books & so glad he's found his soul mate even if it's taken him seven hundred years to do so. Toni is feisty but in many ways adrift. I loved that they were each able to let the guilt go. I'm now eagerly awaiting the next instalment as there are some loose ends My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Lawrence and Toni were both introduced in The Vampire's Temptation, though their story can be rad as a standalone. However I advise reading this series from the start. I really enjoyed the evolution of not only Toni and Lawrence's relationship, but the growth of Toni in particular. Lawrence was an ideal blend of strength, sweetness and sexy making the perfect compliment for Toni. The story flowed well, though it did leave a few unanswered questions. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I'm absolutely loving this story. There is nothing like a hot Highlander...(okay Lowlander). Toni knows what I'm talking about - especially when he brings out that accent! Seriously, this is a new and very interesting take on the whole vampire thing. I love this backstory and if you haven't read that, you should. It's free! It really isn't like just about every other vampire book out there. It is an interesting story with some hot scenes that aren't over the top and are sure to please. I really recommend this book and am eagerly awaiting the next in the series.
The Immortal's Salvation is the second book in the Bloodwite series by Cecelia Mecca. You don't have to read the first book in order to enjoy this one. I think if you can though, you should, because then you will have a much better understanding of the vampires and the cheld.
Lawrence Derrickson is a vampire, and he has been extremely attracted to a certain female human for a while. She's off limits though because she has a boyfriend. He treats her like rubbish, but she can't see it. When she finally does see the light Lawrence gives himself the go-ahead to go after her and there is no stopping him.
Toni O'Neill is that woman, and thankfully she has been hiding feelings for Lawrence too. She's never done anything about it because she stayed loyal to her boyfriend. But to say that she wasn't particularly heartbroken when she split up with him, not with Lawrence ready to sweep her off her feet, is an understatement!
Toni's best friend is also involved with a vampire, so she has known about vampires being real and that Lawrence is one. That's one thing that can't come between them. One thing that can is that Lawrence is still chief of Clan Karyn, something he didn't want at the time, and still doesn't want. His clan is only small now but with the danger they find themselves in often, as protectors of the Cheld, humans who when triggered can gain powers enabling them to become vampire hunters, he feels his responsibility even more. His siblings want him to take a back seat now and give himself time to enjoy his life, to enjoy a relationship. Is it something he can do, it has to be if he and Toni can have any semblance of a happy life together.
What I love about this book is that there is a perfect balance of romance and drama. I love seeing how Lawrence and Toni's relationship develops, and oh my goodness the passionate scenes between them are perfection. I think every reader will be wanting vampires to be real, ones like Lawrence anyway, by the time they finish this book. He has the sexiness and loyalty of a Scottish clan leader, but the dark allure of his vampire side. As for the dramatic side of the story well it seems that somebody is dangerously interested in Toni and her family, plus there is a Cheld coming into its own not too far away. One that needs to be stopped from becoming a vampire hunter. There is never a dull moment in the book and I just couldn't read it quickly enough.
This really is a perfect book and I am wholeheartedly recommending it!
Immortal's Salvation Bloodwite #2 By Cecelia Mecca ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lawrence Derrickson never wanted to be a chief nor a vampire however sometimes we have no choice in where our destinies lay. It's been seven hundred years since he became a vampire and he's still chief of Clan Karyn, although all that is left of the clan is his three siblings. With no castle to protect and defend, they are now only dedicated to one thing and that is protecting the Cheld their superhuman descendants.
Lawrence has wanted a different life for so long, but his duty drives him away from what he really wants. Duty to protect the Cheld at all costs is what has consumed him for so long he doesn't think he can change. Then in a flash it all comes into focus for him. By protecting the Cheld he comes to Stone Haven where he meets Toni O'Neill, a human woman who seems to understand him better then anyone has ever understood him before. Too bad she's already taken.
Toni O'Neill has been telling herself that Lawrence is off limits since the first time she ever saw him. He may be a very sexy vampire, but she has a boyfriend. Besides, what would someone like Lawrence want with her? Toni is fast approaching thirty, and she still doesn't know what she wants to be or even do with her life. But her heart never being one to listen, desides that it's time for a change and urges her to take a chance and leave her boring, if not predictable life behind and explore the inner workings of Lawerence's heart.
Lawrence finally feels like he's found a home in Stone Haven, but trouble soon finds him and forces him to decide what matters most.
Cecelia Mecca has once again managed to astound me. I had a feeling this story would be good, but I had no clue it would be this good. I think I read every word of this book at least three times. I wanted to savor it like a fine wine. Talk about feeling like you have just been hit by a bomb. I'm actually thinking of leaving a note outside my door saying vampires are welcome. That is how real this book seemed to me. Kudos to you Ms. Mecca I didn't know if you would be able to top the last book, but you did it. Now I will wait with baited breath until the next book comes out.
So many vampire stories have the same old themes, but the Bloodwite series by Cecelia Mecca puts a refreshing new spin on the story with exciting and steamy results. Dr. Mecca has abandoned some of the standards like garlic and avoiding sunlight and has created a fascinating Scottish myth and curse from 1274 that created a race of vampires as well as the Cheld who are protected by some of the vampires, but who can turn into vampire hunters themselves. This starts a great conflict over the 700 years that some have lived. In Immortal's Salvation, the tale continues with Lawrence, usually protecting the Cheld, falling for a mortal woman Toni, who happens to have a jerk boyfriend. What I love about the stories is that they are set in a small town in Pennsylvania, not some drafty castle in Europe, and it could happen in your town too. It is difficult for vampires to settle in a town and not be found out, since they do not age and have special speed and abilities. And they must feed on human blood. While both books stand alone, you will want to read The Vampire's Temptation as well to get the wonderful love story between Kenton and Alessandra. These books are incredibly romantic and the sexual tension (vampires are so sexy with lots of animal attraction going on) is wonderful in these steamy tales. This is also a story about guilt and vengeance and family ties. And there is danger and intrigue in the worldwide battle between vampires and the Cheld that is always a threat to their peace. I could not stop reading!
I could hardly wait to read this edge of your seat story. Readers were first introduced to both Lawrence and Toni in book #1, The Vampire's Temptation. Oh my, Lawrence is seriously hot and sexy, as is, Toni gorgeous and sexy. The chemistry between these two characters in this story-line is most evident. Both were definitely attracted to one another, but Toni was in another relationship with arrogant Tyler. That is, until she broke off their relationship. This opens the door wide for Lawrence to step in and sweep her off her feet. But wait, it's not that easy! Many problems arise for both Lawrence and Toni that may or may not get in the way of their relationship.
Ms. Mecca takes the reader on quite the adventure yet again with this next story in her Bloodwite series. If you like a story with fun interesting characters, steamy chemistry between the characters, and adventure, then this paranormal story is one to read. I highly recommend it! I was afforded an advanced review copy, by the author, in exchange for my honest review.
The Immortal's Salvation by Cecelia Mecca is book Two in the Bloodwite Series. This is the story of Toni O’Neill and Lawrence Derrickson. I have read the previous book 'The Vampire's Temptation' and feel that did help me to enjoy this one with the understanding of the underlining story. But with that said you can make this a standalone book if you with to do so. Toni is involved with someone who doesn't see her value and treats her as such. But nevertheless Toni is still with him. Then Lawrence appears in their town of Stone Haven who is there along with his clan to protect the Cheld that they find her best friend Alessandra to be. Lawrence is the chief of Clan Karyn and their main goal is to protect the Cheld who are their superhuman descendants. Focused on several lifetimes of protecting them and keeping his clan safe and together has afforded him time of just taking care of himself. When he meets Toni he feels things that he has waited a several lifetime to feel, but she is with someone else. In addition he is trying to keep danger at bay. But then she is free for him to love but can he go forward with his desires? So in love with this series and can't get enough of Ms. Mecca's writing. Loved it!
The Immortal’s Salvation by Cecelia Mecca is the second book in the Bloodwite series. I love the story and the writing, it’s sooo well done. I liked Lawrence and Toni in the first book but I feel like we are really starting to discover who these characters are. Lawrence for instance is actually this really complex character. He is not predictable at all. He’s this good guy with a wild and utterly seductive side to him. He is a charming, lively character, yet he has a little bit of the tortured hero going on. He’s just the right combination of everything. My god! Talk about a powerfully magnetic character. I was team Kenton up until I read this book and now I am 100% team Lawrence. Toni is a lot less superficial than I imagined her to be and a lot deeper. I love how the relationship starts off with them, it’s so good. I can not wait to hear more!! Great book/series, highly recommend it.
This series keeps getting better and better. The Immortal’s Salvation by Cecelia Mecca is book 2 in the Bloodwite series and what an amazing series this is turning out to be. This new adventure that Cecelia is attempting is really paying off from writing historical medieval to PRN. She has created the most fabulous characters and who knew I could fall in love with a vampire. Though you can read this as a standalone I highly recommend you read book 1 in this series, The Immortal’s Temptation, to get the full story and what is going on. Trust me when I say this is a must read. If you are a lover of true romance this is probably one of the most romantic stories I have read. Cecelia is one of the most talented writers and I hold my breath with anticipation for the next book in this series. This story has a break-up, wooing, a quant little town, a journey to find one’s self, the most romantic scenes, best friends, protection, matchmaking, determination, letting go, a family’s love, mystery and yes it has love. You have to read this book, you won’t be disappointed!
Let me begin by saying that I find nothing more sexy than an emotional stare that speaks volumes on a man's intentions. And what's even sexier....when that man is a gorgeous blonde-haired, green-eyed vampire! Add to that this author's capability to put you directly into the scene to witness what her characters are discovering is a toe-curling experience.
If you haven't read Book 1 (The Vampire's Temptation), I would implore you to do so. Not because this book isn't a stand-alone read, but so that you get the full experience of the two vampires involved in these stories.
This author can't write fast enough for me, I've contemplated offering to watch her kids and clean her house so she has more time to write. (Kidding, but then again...not.) She's quickly become one of my favorite authors and I'd a read a menu if she wrote it.
This story involves a 700 year old vampire, chief to the Scottish Clan Karyn who descends upon Stone Haven to protect a Cheld who will soon be awakened (in book 1) but is drawn to her best friend Toni. But there's a problem, she has a boyfriend.
Toni is aware of the two vampires that have purchased the only mansions in Stone Haven and fights her attraction to the blonde-haired, green-eyed hunky vampire she cannot ignore. The way he stares at her forces bodily reactions even though her mind is rejecting them.
I do not offer spoilers so you'll have to read the book to find out what happens but just know it's unlike any other vampire series out there. It's fresh, imaginative, humorous, and so believable it makes you want to visit Jim Thorpe, PA to get a personal feel of the town in this author's inspiration.
What I love most about this series is that there are no cliffhangers (Thank God!) but the author leaves just a few issues open that will find you buying the next book. Guaranteed! I was gifted with an ARC and wanted to leave a review.
I absolutely love the spin that Cecelia Mecca has taken on a timeless tale of vampirism and made it new again with this series! This is book two in the Bloodwite series and is about Lawrence and Toni two souls who have both suffered tragedies in their pasts. One just happens to be a 700 year old vampire and the other a mere human but these two manage to find their happiness even with a crazy ex and a mysterious break-in. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!! I was gifted with this ARC and am thrilled to leave this review!!
Cursed with immortality, Lawrence Derrickson still holds the position of chief of Clan Karyn, a responsibility he never wanted. Although his clan now only includes his two siblings, they are committed to protecting the Cheld, descendants of his later brother with the potential to develop superhuman powers and become vampire hunters. In helping fledgling Cheld Alessandra Fiore, he met her best friend Toni O'Neill. Though he felt a connection to her, she already had a boyfriend.
Even though she's not a Cheld, Toni feels drawn to Lawrence as well but keeps telling herself he's off limits; she already has someone who's safe, if not particularly thrilling or even a great catch. Plus Lawrence is a vampire and that's sure to complicate any relationship.
Lawrence is starting to feel the weight of all the unwanted responsibility he has carried for years and he's ready to settle down. Toni is struggling with the approach of her 30th birthday and the fact that she still doesn't really know what to do with her life. But her boyfriend accepts her and doesn't judge her for never going to college and she's afraid to rock the boat. But she can't get Lawrence out of her head and he can't stop thinking about her either, so when he relationship comes to a screeching halt the sparks between them are inevitable. When danger threatens the peace Lawrence craves, he must decide if he's even really free to follow his heart over his duty.
I've never really been much of a paranormal reader until this series but I've loved it so far. I thought the idea of a rather reluctant heroine whose loyal to, if not necessarily in love with, someone else was an interesting angle to begin from. I loved both main characters when they appeared in the previous installment of the series and was rooting for them to be together. Lawrence's longing to have a home again reminds us that he's a vampire because of a terrible curse and after hundreds of years of leadership and that he's never quite gotten over the death of his older brother. Lawrence is tired and his need to be settled was very endearing, as was his determination to show Toni how she deserves to be treated. Toni's development of her sense of self-worth, and really just self in general, was fantastic. Of course Lawrence makes typical male mistakes, but he's so sweet and protective and good at apologizing that it's hard to stay mad at him.
This book was quite different from the first but no less enjoyable. I do think it leaves us with more loose ends than its predecessor did; there was definitely a lingering sense of some danger after I'd finished. I can't wait to see where this series goes next.
Lawrence longs for a different life. One that doesn’t involve strict adherence to duty but does allow for a life where he can enjoy his own passions and desires. But as the centuries roll by, his need to protect the Cheld takes precedence over his own dreams. That is until he arrives in Stone Haven, where suddenly he’s wondering if maybe he can finally have something of his own—Toni O’Neill, a human who seems to have more in common with him than anyone else has. Can he take a chance on love? With a human?
Well, I’d HIGHLY suggest that you read the story to find out. However, if you’ve yet to delve into the magical historical realm of Cecelia Mecca, you should take a step back. Way back, 700 years, to book 9 of Ms. Mecca’s Border Series and read “The Guardian's Favor”. If you haven’t delved into that series, it’s a historical romance set in 13th century Northumbria along the Anglo-Scottish border and comprises strong female heroines, alpha-male heroes, and sizzling romance. It’s there you’ll first meet Lawrence Derrickson. Then, take a jump in time to 2019 to Stone Haven, Pennsylvania, and Book One of this Bloodwite series, where we meet Alessandra Fiore, a recently awakened Cheld, and the best friend of Toni.
For me, this reads as a contemporary romance—with very modern relationship problems including annoying exes, familial obligations, taking chances, letting go, and finding love; interspersed with both friendly and not so friendly vampires. That said, some of the things I really enjoyed about this book was how Lawrence and Toni navigated their developing relationship, fought against their own pasts, and eventually (mostly) came to accept each other because “Even cursed blood can fall prey to love’s bite.” AND, I’d be remiss in pointing out that they are really hot together and I loved some of the details Ms. Mecca added to make them seem more real. As to any dislikes, for me, I’m left with more questions than answers in terms of the overall series plot, which also has me eager for book 3.
If you’ve read my other reviews, you already know that I’m a Cecelia Mecca fan and I’ve enjoyed her historical romances. She takes it to a higher level with her new PNR that blends both history with the otherworldly into something that is pure entertainment. The characters are all engaging and the small town of Stone Haven is a marvelous backdrop for feuding families to unite, for showdowns to occur, and for some serious (and hawt) romance to happen.
Whereas the first book in the series, The Vampire’s Temptation, blew me away with its fresh, modern take on an old trope, the old-fashioned romanticism of The Immortal’s Salvation simply swept me away!
Vastly different from Kenton, whom we met in the first book, Lawrence is down-to-earth, humble and unpretentious. And, he immediately won my heart by being patient and respectful, exercising great control and restraint, while waiting for Toni to be free from the entanglements of her toxic relationship with Tyler, before making a move or expressing his feelings.
Because they have both dealt with the loss of family in their past, Lawrence and Toni share some of the same, deep scars and are painfully haunted by the same survivor’s guilt. In each other, they find not only a kindred spirit but someone who brings the healing balm of peace to their aching soul. They also discover that they share a similar vision for the future. And, when it comes to chemistry, they find they have that in hot, steamy abundance, as well.
But, although Toni makes Lawrence crave her body, she also stimulates him with her bright mind, quick wit and independent spirit. And, she ignites in him the desire to put down roots and build a lasting, meaningful life, in one set place, for the first time in centuries. The two of them just seem to perfectly balance each other out, and there is no doubt that, in each other, they have finally found their true mate and the love of their lifetime.
I think Lawrence & Toni may be my new favorite Vamp & vixen duo!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This series just keeps getting better! I liked the first book in the series, but I loved every minute of this book. So yes, I may be partial to hot Scottish men but this one is a vampire and so swoon worthy. I could not put it down because I wanted to know what was coming next. I am the type of reader who tries to figure everything out before it happens. This series has such a fresh approach to the vampire theme that it keeps me guessing. The main characters are a breathtaking, sandy-haired, green-eyed vampire who is ready to step down from leading and a pretty, red-headed, brown-eyed woman who thinks she has no real path in life. Both of them are a little lost and have common issues even though one has been a vampire for 700 years and the other is a mere mortal. I love the HEAT between Lawrence and Toni! I enjoy that the author gives this couple an hea but I still have so many questions about some of the other characters introduced and where the story will go next. I also liked revisiting the lives of the characters from the first book. I will definitely be following this series so I can see how some of questions get answered.
This is book #2 in the Bloodwite series and wow, wow, wow, I'm just as impressed with this one as I was with the first! I couldn't wait to read Lawrence and Toni's story and I wasn't disappointed. We met them in the first book, Lawrence being a 700 year old vampire who protects the Cheld and Toni being Alessandra's (a Cheld) best friend. He is such a warm and caring man and I love how passionate he is for Toni but it's a slow burn before they finally get together because she has a boyfriend, plus they both have personal issues they need to deal with.
The writing is so smooth and flowing, I literally could not put the book down until I'd finished it. I wonder if authors are aware that we blame them for lack of sleep? lol
I also loved seeing Kenton and Alessandra again (from book #1J), as well as Lawrence's siblings. This really is an exciting series and I look forward to reading the next one...and the next...and the next....
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The Immortal’s Salvation by Cecelia Mecca is Book 2 in the New WICKEDLY ADDICTIVE Bloodwite Vampire Series! I loved it! This is one of my new favorites and the series is just getting started! The world and characters are warmly created and described, bringing this sleepy little town and it’s new occupants to life. The storyline has a great mix of contemporary and a historical timelines which is full of suspense and 4 flame romance. This is a full size novel however, I couldn’t help but be selfish by still wanting more story! The author expertly built up an emotional scene from the character’s past when he had to flee his castle and I’m bewildered not knowing how it all ended there! Can I hope for extra chapters or a novella? Lol I recommend this book and series to everyone who loves a good immortal story.
This is the second story in this series and a story I have been looking forward to. Lawrence is a vampire clan chief and Toni is just trying to live her life the best way she knows how. Lawrence has been attracted to Toni but was waiting till she was ready to let his intentions known. He has dedicated is life to protecting the 'Cheld' and now he might have to choose between duty or having a somewhat normal life.
I absolutely loved this story. The characters were amazing and you never knew what they were going to do next. They just keep running into one complication after another. This story will keep you intrigued from the first page to the last. I can't wait for the next one and I hope Laria gets her story. I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
Lawrence Derrickson is back in this second book in the Bloodwite series he may be 700 years old but according to Toni he's hot but until recently she has stayed away when she breaks up with her boyfriend they will have there chance together. Lawrence will have to make a choice stay with Toni and have the life he always wanted before he became clan chief and before he became a Vampire his life will come full circle he will finally return home and and make peace with himself over his brothers death and decide to let his brother Torr and sister protect the Cheld. With plenty of twists and turns the suspense keeps building with the Sect making another move and a mysterious journal yet to be found. I cant wait for book 3 to come out. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I’m definitely Team Lawrence! Oh my word!!! I loved this book. Cecelia Mecca has taken a secondary character, Scottish Lawrence Derrickson, from her Border Series book “The Guardian’s Favor” set in 1274 and created a series around his family feud with an English border family, the Morleys. Alec Derrickson, is killed during skirmish. A curse is cast of both sides of the feuding families by Isobel, Alec’s grieving wife, creating vampires. This turns Lawrence into a vampire. Lawrence feels that his brother is dead because of his inability to protect him. Lawrence has vowed to protect his brother’s children and their decedents, the Cheld. Turn the clock ahead 700 years. Lawrence while on a mission to protect an emerging Cheld he encounters Toni and now after 700 years of protecting his family he yearns for something more. Toni is an almost 30-year-old who is working 2 jobs, an asshole of a boyfriend, and she feels guilt trip over her parents’ death. She is attracted to Lawrence like she has never be attracted to a man before but then there’s that vampire protector thing getting in the way and BTW did I mention the asshole boyfriend. All I can say is Lawrence can come bite me in the neck anytime! This book held my interest and was easy to read. A page turner. I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book to read for my honest review.
Cecelia , your well of characters to quench the thirst of readers is astounding! Your Bloodwite series is just proof of the wonderful characters you bring to life . Book 2 in this series ," The Immortal's Salvation" is further proof that an author can write for any audience with the right tools ! Your tools here , in this book being Lawrence and Toni! Sparks were evident when we met these two in the first book," The Immortal's Temptation", and so thrilled to see them come together ... For fellow readers of the paranormal , YOU NEED TO READ THIS SERIES!! And of you want to know more about these families , how they csme to be " here" read about them in "The Border Series " also by Cecelia Mecca!
I loved Lawrence from the beginning of book one! Lawrence and Toni were a kind of sweet slow burn that became a full on blaze in this book. While I believe the story can be read as a standalone, for the best experience and background on some of the other characters you will see here, I recommend starting with book one. The author has done a fantastic job creating this world where vampires are real, but their origins differ from legend. This book just continues the action and steaminess with cameos from the last book. I really enjoy the overlap which makes this feel like a continual timeline and ongoing adventure. This is such an amazing series so far and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Toni is working two jobs and dating Tyler who may not really be a nice guy. Her best friend Alessandra is now married to a vampire Kenton and has some powers of her own. Lawrence is also a vampire and while there is an attraction between he and Toni, neither will act upon it while she is in a relationship.
This sets the stage for sizzling relationships, family dynamics – in this case reaching back centuries and the life-threatening danger from those who are members of the Sect.
Captivating characters and relationship building. Make sure you have time to finish because you will not be willing to put it down until the last page!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
The Immortal's Salvation is book 2 in the Bloodwite series and what a fabulous addition to the series it is. This can be read as a standalone but to fully enjoy it and learn the background, you should read Book 1 -- The Immortal's Temptation. Cecelia Mecca continually amazes me. Just when I think her books can't get any better, she just blows on by with another exceptional book. She draws you into the story and you become involved with the characters and follow along until the end. This is the tale of Lawrence Derrickson and Toni O'Neill who were introduced in The Immortal's Temptation. I loved how the relationship between Lawrence and Toni develops. I highly recommend this book and series. I received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.
