After his stepfather nearly ruins both his family name and business, Damien Fiorenza becomes suspicious of everyone-except for his long-time partner, Ethan Lord. He doesn't trust people in authority, much less the woman who weasels her way into his walled-up heart, alongside his lover of fifteen years.
Ethan dislikes his empathic abilities, especially since they allow him to feel his mother's indifference toward him, her only son. Damien, however, has always made Ethan feel needed, appreciated, and protected-but he can't voice what Ethan is desperate to hear. Falling for their new secretary is unexpected, but she encourages and supports him in ways Damien won't.
Shaylia Bright's father chose his secret family over her and her mother. Ever since, she's striven to be the best she can be, unable to stomach being second best. Although an office romance is a no-no, she can't deny the passionate chemistry among the three of them and finds herself drawn to both her bosses.
A dark and deep secret from the past forces Damien to raise his defenses. Haunting revelations tear everyone apart, dooming Shaylia to second best and Ethan to an incomplete life. Wrought with insecurity and stubbornness, can they find the courage to accept parts of their painful past in order to forge a path together, toward a happily ever after?

When Ethan's long time lover and business partner, Damien, won't support his interest in opening an art gallery to exhibit his art, they split up. Both men are bi & while they are apart Ethan falls for their temp secretary, the lovely & guiless Shaylia, who gets him the way nobody else ever has including Damien. Then Damien realizes what a fool he's been and comes back to make amends with Ethan. That's when things get complicated because empath Ethan loves them both and recognizes that Shaylia is what has been missing in their lives.

Told in rotating first person point of view, we get Damien and Ethan and Shaylia's thoughts and fears as they navigate their feelings for each other.  Things don't go smoothly and there's a twist I really didn't see coming. Old hurts and insecurities are exposed that Ethan's empathic abilities can't smooth over. Can Damien and Shaylia work things out for the man they both love?

Lynn Burke is a new author for me & I enjoyed this story.  I like that she didn't over burden this simple romance with complicated, unnecessary subplots. It's a story about two men & a woman who have to learn how to love each other. The sex is HOT-- 5 piping hot stars --- MM, MF, MFM, MMF.  I'd love to read more about this trio.

What a relief to read an original take on the threesome trope. Three lives interwoven finally coming together. I don’t think I need to put a spoiler tag when I say that as that is rather the point of a book like this. I love books about true threesomes (not reverse harem)but I am often left feeling that they aren’t very original or realistic. Aside from the fact that 1character is empathetic
In the way of science fiction I felt that the book was very realistic especially the feelings that came about because of the three way relationship. I know that this type of thing is supposed to end when the guy(s) get the girl, but I would love to read the further adventures of all of them.

Everyone knows I love triads and a lucky girl with two hot bisexual men makes for some fun times.

Damien is set to leave that day for a four-week business trip to England when his longtime lover/best friend and business partner Ethan drops a bomb on him. Ethan is ready to go part-time with Damien’s family company and finally pursue his life long dream…opening an Art Gallery and showing his and other’s art. Ethan is an empath and painting is his way of escaping and dealing with others feelings and needs. Is it all over for Damien and Ethan after all this time. And what about that sexy temp secretary that has caught Ethan’s eye?

I immediately liked Ethan. He stood up for what he needed from Damien after waiting most of his adult life. Damien took me quite a bit longer to warm up to. He was self-centered and took from Ethan too much. I know his dominant personality made him more demanding but it should have also made him more nurturing. And I get that he has major trust issues however 10+ years with his soul mate should have allowed him to at least tell Ethan he loved him! Shaylia was a breath of fresh air for Ethan and the perfect addition for the three of them.

This author did something I didn’t see coming and took me by total surprise with her twist that almost collapsed their shaky but growing triad. That is not something that is common for me and was a refreshing surprise.

I am going to put this straight out there for you…if you don’t want to hear about MF or MMF or MFM and “pink parts”, as one of my male friends calls it, then this book is definitely NOT for you. This book has plenty of good old man-on-man action but there is quite a bit of male/female action with no other man in sight. This is the forming of a triad with two established bisexual males that have been in a long term serious relationship. They have brought others in to play before but never to establish a new relationship as a triad with a female.

I enjoyed this book and the many twists and turns as these three worked at redefining a relationship that would work and meet their needs.

I loved this story. I love ménage romances but it’s hard to know if they’ll be good without reading it first. Not every author does it right. I was pleasantly surprised and I will be reading more from this author. Shay meets Ethan during her interview and sparks fly. Ethan and Damien have just broken up so Ethan’s connection to Shay is unexpected but they don’t fight it. But Ethan wants both and Shay and Damien want to make him happy. What happens when they develop feelings for each other but then realize they have someone from their past in common that causes a drift? It’s then up to them to realize if they can put their separate but connected pasts behind them and be together? I love how the story developed and you feel for the characters. I became invested and I felt their emotions. Ethan also happens to be an empath and I know how hard that can be and this author reflected it beautifully. I only wish there would have been an epilogue to get a glimpse of them in the future.

Received and ARC from Author for Honest Review.
I Give this Books a 2.5/5 Stars, Listing as 2, it doesn’t meet my expectations for 3 Stars.

This is one of the very rare reviews, where I go on how I feel about this book and not include my ratings in different genre category list, in the making of my decision.
But ratings are at the bottom.

I truly loved the sound of this book, but it’s not at all what I thought it’d be.

Let’s just start with:
Im fine of Ethan & Damien’s sides, but if Shaylia had another reason as to why she was seeking a new temporary job, or at least the intro pacing of the story was different, my opinion of what I’ve read would be 100% different.

I don’t think Shaylia being sexually assaulted by her previous boss was a good idea for one of her background plots, cause of how fast (and I mean immediately) she became interested in Ethan kinda (to me) leaves the reader with a bad taste in their mouth.
Even though she’s just a temporary secretary, it’s just way to fast to seem NOT suspicious in her case.
I understand and easily accept Ethan leaving Damien after a 15 year relationship, cause of what Damien won’t say. That’s a long time to use someone and drag them around for his own interest, but not care about his partners.
Both men are Bi by the way :)
Shaylia and Ethan (despite him being a empath), they had legit 3ish minor convos in day one and they fall hard, plus they are texting on day one (he’s HER boss), then he and she immediately trust and have sexual interest in each other but clearly don’t act on it immediately till 2 weeks later:
This part of the book just made me forehead slap and say a big sarcastic “Oh, Really? Who Would’a Thought?!” And “WTF?!”
****
“I want you more than anything, but this isn’t a good idea, Ethan,” I somehow managed to whisper the truth past my raging libido demanding more, more, more. “You’re my boss.”
****
(And a little later.. just left me Wowed... in a bad way, I can’t even like the smex scene cause of this..)

“Then take me bare, Ethan. Please. I-I need to feel you inside me.”

(First ‘date’ish, they may text each other or call, but in reality they barely know each other socially, he should at least asked her to be or if she was tested, but they ‘trust’ each other and it’s INSTA-LOVE.
On top of that ‘going bare’ in books is 50/50, it either fits the book and/or scene or it doesn’t, and in this book it was wildly inappropriate)
***

Again, Shaylia being a sexual assault victim, who was assaulted by her previous BOSS(!!).
Doesn’t seem nervous or worried by her new one, and she’s immediately taken with him when he says he’s an empath, and suddenly everything’s great.
I mean she’s not at all suspicious/wary of the sexual glint in his eye, that she clearly saw and pointed out?!
I’m not trying to throw in feminism in any sense of the word, but I mean come on.
This attack was supposedly recent and he was voted not guilty in court, and she’s not at all effected from it? No Psychological Trauma? No unstable trust of the other gender, even minor?
I find that odd honestly, it made me start thinking if she was a Predator, her initiating the relationship in order to throw it back on him and/or trap and sue him.
Ethan at this time is emotionally vulnerable, and she could’ve used that to her advantage if she was one.
He does say:
*****
“Don’t be sorry.” He smiled. “You’re a breath of fresh air with your subdued emotions.”
*****
Technically I would think that would mean she’s in control of her emotions, so he could feel her thoughts and feelings but it’s well controlled that he can’t ‘read’ completely.
Plus she says All the right things, (to me) it just felt weird...

I’m mainly pointing out that putting this subject in the book makes me not too fond of what I’m reading, cause of the unbelievability and/or unrealness of it.

This book story line wise is roughly fast paced, but also the conversations, interactions. The decisions & forgiveness are made up pretty much on the spot, no need of a length of time to think/ponder.
When you look outside the box... there was so much drama in such a short amount of time.
I usually don’t have that much of an issue with so much drama action, but the convenient timing, coincidences & conclusions, on some things just bothered me.

Shaylia & Damien, to me they just didn’t seem great together, felt forced/rushed on Damien’s end and the same goes with his ‘I Love You’s’ too, Shaylia on the other hand seemed to have a more obsessive feel towards Ethan and then she’s suddenly ok with Damien in order to keep Ethan.
What they secretly had in common, was way too convenient and coincidental to even be real.

I don’t get a sense of depth, for example:
When Ethan wanted to pull his hair out cause of everyone freaking out in the office, (I got it he’s an empath, but your reader isn’t) there was no sense of chaos cause the reader wasn’t provided any description: no emotions or feel of any from him being a empath, no chatter, no throwing of paper, no rushing nor running, no crowding from employees, nothing. I had to take Ethan word, that there was chaos happening.

MMF & MFM are one of my favorite genres, but this book sadly should’ve either been a MM, MF or a MMF but with a whole different female, Shaylia didn’t fit, I found her whiny, needy, her innocent personality turn suddenly ditzy seemed fake, and/or just sadly dull. She felt like a thrown in character to play glue, and you had to like her cause she comes with the package.

Romance Believability Between the 3: 0/5
Smutty(?): Yes, if your in for mainly sex, it’s here and there’s LOTS OF IT .
Side note: the sex scene to me seems like they were written first and the storyline came later.
No rating, cause if I can’t very much enjoy the storyline why enjoy the scenes when you cant feel a connection?
Drama: 5/5
Suspense: 2/5, it was pretty predictable.
HEA(?): Yep
Stamped(?): Kinda, cause it did feel immediate.
MMF(?): Yep

Recommend(?): Its not my favorite MMF and sadly I will not choose this to be a future reread, but everyone’s taste is different.

Super hot read read. Love comes in many shapes and sizes; this book shows how true that it is. This is a wonderful read with character with incredible dynamics. This play with many emotions and realistically includes insecurities and old hurts. This is a very well written story that is hard to put down.

Lynn Burke has a way with writing MMF books that a lot of authors don't. As a reader, you get easily drawn into the story and just lose track of time. I really enjoyed this story of Damien, Ethan and Shaylia. It's emotional at times but a good book should always make you feel the emotions of the characters!! This does just that. Loved it and will be waiting for another book by Ms. Burke!

I picked this up because I love a good MMF romance and Ethan, Shaylia, and Damien's was a super read and a little different from the other books I have read. The plot was good and I liked all the characters I would get comfy for this one because once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down. It is a super read I really enjoyed it

Whaaaat? Talk about crazy hot, erotic and oh my god. The power dynamics in this story was really interesting. I loved how Ethan got to be the top with Shaylia and stay the erotic bottom with Damien. Love is not always just a singular person but who makes you complete.

I liked the book overall but there were some things that I thought weren’t explained clearly.

This book seems like it’s in a normal world but then it talks about Ethan being an empath as if it is a power and it got me confused as the world seemed normal and then sometimes, like when Shaylia comes on her first day, Ethan tells her that he’s an empath and she understands so that would make it seem like there are some paranormal things in this world that are normal. I just didn’t understand that aspect and whether that made this book paranormal and there were more people with powers or if it was just Ethan and his mother who had these powers.

I liked the characters and how they were shown interacting with each other but I didn’t fully believe in the main characters relationship because there were a few moments that contradicted each other. First, Damien and Ethan are taking a break and both cheat on each other which to me was a bit weird since they both said that they wanted to be with each other but it could have just been that they haven’t been with anyone else for 15 years. Then the main characters get to know each other and they talk about how the three of them fit together perfectly and can’t be together without one of them and when something big happens, Damien and Ethan stay together and are prepared to live without Shaylia. There is also another chapter that annoyed me/made me doubt their relationship when the three of them just broke up and Ethan goes to Shaylia and then goes to Damien. When he’s with Shaylia he says something about how if they split up, he would choose her. Then he goes to Damien, they get drunk together and Ethan tells him that he won’t ever leave him. That was a huge mistake in the plot as the point of the book was to show that the three of them are perfect for each other and can’t leave without one of them but then the author shows us that actually Damien and Ethan can and will live without Shaylia.

After all that, when Shaylia finally goes back to Damien and Ethan, I thought that there should have been more chapters showing Shaylia trying to deal with her insecurities. Throughout the whole book she’s talked and thought about how she’s never good enough and is always in second place but when Damien and Ethan actually show her that they don’t really care about her equally, she’s fine and happy to get back to them without really thinking about the fact that Ethan chose Damien over her and Damien was fine with leaving her behind.

I like this book for the most part so I want to read more books by this author but I had a lot of problems with this book: the relationship development, the lack of side characters, how they didn’t do anything or go anywhere and how their issues weren’t really solved in the end.

“Empath” abilities overused.

Written in triple first person POV. Good amount of sexy times and the plot was fine but Ethan’s empath abilities were mentioned way too often. I wouldn’t consider this a supernatural romance but I just wished that the author focused on something else. Honestly, the book was fine but there wasn’t anything that I would consider outstanding. It was fine to read once but I won’t read it again. Borrowed through KU.

First time.

Well where to begin.....I've read plenty of menage books but never have I read one where the relationship started off MM & brought in the female, it's usually a MF bringing in another male so with that being said, I absolutely loved this book!! The love between Damien & Ethan was beautiful & I'm so happy he got his act together in the nick of time! Oh boy the plot twist was mind blowing!! I was honestly afraid there for a minute. Forgiveness really helps & it sure helped this threesome find their HEA.....it is now 4am because I could not put this book down, I'm not very good at leaving reviews but I had to leave this one before my bed claimed me to dreamland. Looking forward to reading more by Lynn Burke.

Hold on to your jaws and make sure you have plenty of fans while reading this intense love triangle. Ethan, Shaylia, and Damien are unforgettable! Their friendship as couples will set the stage for an unexpected twist that may compromise years of trust, loyalty, and revenge.
I honestly couldn’t put this book down once I started it. I have a book hangover to beat s+. No apologies here, though, I adored the MMF fervor. It ticked my envy nerve on all levels. So good!!

Wow!

I love this story. Sometimes we need to give a relationship a break and give each other a chance to figure out what's important. Being in a relationship is about being open about your feelings.

This story teaches you that love and understanding. Shayla and Ethan are great together but when they join Damien you can feel their energy and love. This story is engaged and so much fun to read.

I was smiling and really enjoyed reading it.

I enjoyed this story because it was very well written. You have three very well rounded characters. You get in depth looks into their lives and what makes them how they are now from things that happened in their pasts. You get in their heads. There is a good story line. How after fifteen years together, one member seems to take the other forgranted. How when broken up, they each find someone else to spend time with. How one member of the original couple realizes that they didn't treat the other the way they deserve. They talk, they work on things, then one says I need something extra.

Damien is the head of his family's business. His step-father almost brought it to ruin, but with the help of Damien's college roommate and lover, Ethan, he was able to bring it back to the glory that it used to be since his grandfather created it. Damien is good looking, smart , has trust issues and very dominant. Ethan is an artist empath. Ethan will do anything Damien wants, but he has always wanted two things. He has wanted to be loved and to open his own art gallery. After fifteen years of being together, Damien still hasn't told Ethan that he loves him and isn't supportive of his desire for his own art gallery. Ethan breaks up with him on the eve of Damien going to London to open a new branch of his business. Damien will be gone around a month.

Shaylia starts a new job as a temp worker at Damien's business the day after he leaves. She is the assistant to the guys' secretary. She is probably over qualified but she sued for sexual assult at her last job, and lost, so she is trying to keep a low profile and get more experience. She has an inferiority complex since her father left them when she was eight for his other wife and her son. She has always felt that she wasn't good enough, so now she tries to be perfect so maybe someone will love her. When she starts working for Ethan, she sees a kind soul and wants to do anything to support him. She sees his paintings in his office, is supportive when he looks for gallery space and even helps him set up his gallery. They are attracted to each other even though they know that because she works for him, it is a no-no.

Ethan sees in Shaylia that she is everything she wanted from Damien. When Damien writes that he wants a second chance together, he is torn. He has to figure out what he does want without hurting the two people in the world that mean everything to him.

**SPOILER** It doesn't help when it comes out that Damien's looser of an ex-step-father just so happens to be Shaylia's father. This one man caused all of Shaylia's feelings of no worth because she wasn't as good as the boy, Damien, he left her for. Damien has trust issues because of the same man. He thinks his ex-step-father sent Shaylia in to mess up his relationship and business.

I was so disapointed. since I like MMF romances and Lynn Burke has written quite a few of those. I expected her to become one of my favorite romance authors. but So far i have been disapointed. her stories Lack emotional depth. oh there is Drama but no emotional depth.

we have here a struggling Couple, which breaks up at the beginning of the book. then one of them falls in love the very next day with the New secretary. like instatntly. she also instantly falls in deep deep love with him. how do I know that, because I was told over and over again that this is real love, truly, for Real! the other guy Returns a month later and after some Initial Reservation also falls deeply madly truly in love with her. this is the guy that gets dumped bc he was unable to tell his partner of 15 years that he loves him. the heroine or her magic pussy comes a long and it rains I love yous all the time. seriously?!?!

than the 3rd act breakup happens and everyone is miserable and I was supposed to care. Well {spoiler alert!} I didnt!

the 3rd break up:

So the heroine has issues bc her daddy left her and her Mother for another family. and instead hating and mistrusting her father her whole wrath and hatred and contempt is directed at the New woman's son, who could not have been that much older than her and who has been a victim of her father's too. I get that a 8yr old could see it that way, but why would she hold on to that even as a grown woman. eventhough the feeling o resentment would not subside even with age but certainly as she grew up she could rationaly and cognetivly distinguish that the son did not actually, activly steal her father from her. But that Was the point she focused on and would build her whole mistrust issues on and the impossibiliy of their relationship to work. and Damien who (spoiler alert) is said son went out of his way to prove that he is trustworthy and that he did not intentionally steal her farher from her. why? can't she just be intelligent?

why ist Ethan an Empath?. it did not add anything to the story. it was only awkward. like is this a paranormal setting???

it is really a Bummer. the idea sounded good and it could have benefitted of some more pages. the story was so rushed that nothing really was being accomplished here.

When Ethan's long term partner refuses to support his dream, Ethan breaks up with him. He wasn't expecting it, but after he breaks up with Damien, he falls hard for his new assistant. Shaylia and Ethan could have been together and that would have been that, but for Damien. When Damien comes back into Ethan's life because he realizes what he had been missing, he's not thrilled to find Ethan has a new lover. He tries to harden his heart against Shaylia, but somehow she slips past his massive defenses and the three of them are enjoying something special. But can a roadblock from both Shaylia and Damien's past be too much for the three of them to get past?

This was a pretty great menage. I like that although really, really hot, the emotional aspect is well-balanced with the physical. A good menage is only good if this balance is achieved, and here it's definitely achieved. I have to admit that, though I could understand where he was coming from, Damien was really hard for me to like. He was so damaged by his past that he became selfish and hardened, and caused him to lash out and hurt both Ethan and Shaylia, both of whom I adored. So 4 stars because Damien was pretty unlikable, but Shaylia and Ethan and the well-rounded feel of the relationship was not only hot but emotionally satisfying.

★ Deliciously woven story ★

—>>> Damien has had complete control while single-handedly rebuilding his family’s business, as well as pride in control over his own emotions and control of his lover’s submission for fifteen years. Until Ethan drops a couple of bombs following a plea to hear the three simple words he wished to hear. Weary of beating against the wall surrounding Damien’s emotions, the timing was perfect for Shaylia’s honest and warm emotions, which wrapped this empath like a comforting blanket, nourishing his depleted soul and lending him courage to move forward with his own dream, one which had never counted before now to anyone but himself.

When Damien finally realized that his life and achievements will not mean anything without the one person who had been his anchor all these years, he returns to find that someone else had been in Ethan’s thoughts AND bed.

A deliciously woven story between three people who still have much to learn about forgiveness and trust, but very thankfully, together.

A really emotional non-traditional romance.💞💖💞

Damien and Ethan have been partners for fifteen years but Ethan has finally reached his emotional breaking point and decides it's time to focus on him for a while instead. But Damien can't let him go even though Ethan has begun seeing their new secretary, Shaylia. Eventually, Ethan convinces both Shaylia and Damien to give their triad a chance and things seem to be heading in a good direction for all of them. That is until a blast from Damien and Shaylia's past unknowingly connects them in a heartbreaking way.💗🔥💔💕

I can't believe how many tissues I went through during this book! It was so well written and developed that I felt as if I was right there with this triad who, most certainly, are meant to be together. It's full of intense feelings and does deal with an MMF pairing, so if this makes you uncomfortable, please be forewarned. But it is an amazing romance!❣️

Ethan and Damien are both bi couple involved in a relationship. Ethan and Damien split up when Damien does not support Ethan dream of opening a art gallery, and emotionally uncommitted to the relationship. Ethan is interviewing Shaylia to be his secretary and sparks and chemistry fly between them is high and intense. Ethan and Shaylia become romantically involved despite their boss/employee relationship. Ethan is empathy, loyal, determined, committed, outgoing, and Shaylia is independant, loyal, compassionated, caring, and loving.
It was a great story between Ethan and Shaylia, Ethan found what Damien would not give him emotionally. Damien sees the error of his ways and decides to get Ethan back. Damien, Ethan, and Shaylia give their pov through the story.
It was romantic, compelling, chemistry, emotional, endearing story.

Not one of the best MMF I've ever read

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
I decided to give the author another chance, having found the only other book I've read by her to be lacking.
Sadly, I wasn't mistaken.
The punctuation is all over the place again, the syntax is very odd. The characterisation is okay but not enough for me to care if any of them had been killed off. The storyline plodded along with way too much and not enough show, and held enough angst for a series let alone a single book.
There is some swearing and plenty of sex, MM/MF & MMF, ending with a scene that was truly naive.
Definitely decided, no more of this author for me.

Having already read Healing Storms, I knew Lynn Burke writes great MMF.

I liked the fact that Damien and Ethan had a long term
relationship before Shaylia entered the picture. Each of them had very distinct personalities as well as strengths and weaknesses that made their 3 person dynamic work. Issues from the past affected trust abilities, and played into their relationship quite a bit. I enjoyed watching them work together to get past those issues.

Lastly, the scenes, MM, MF, and MMF were 🔥🔥🔥! It was the perfect mix of all 3 in a ménage story done right.

Meh

The sex scenes were good in this one. I would consider this as mostly porn with a little bit of plot. This is mostly character driven which i like. However im not sure if its because I took long breaks between each read (cuz I felt bord tbh) or because of my crazy imagination I've been able to guess the plot twist before it came close. I suppose if I read this book all in one go I would have some more excited even if I guessed the twist. The ending was meh for me but by this point I was less invested in the characters.

I loved this book you will not put it down till you have read the very last word. The story was well written, flowed well and brought to life the story of Ethan, Shaylia, and Damien. Their intense love story will have you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The chemistry between these three is smoking hot. A must read and you will not be disappointed. I recommend this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another book by Lynn Burke I couldn't put down. I absolutely fell in love with the story line, the STEAMY connection between the characters and the LOVE & JOY they shared with one another. Talk about Rollercoaster of Emotions.....I was sucked in from the 1st page with love & hurt, my heart broke & was warmed with love & happiness and then anguish as the story moved on, in the end I was begging, praying and cheering. A perfectly written MMF!

Hot and steamy, emotional, slightly angsty goodness. I adored this book and the 3 main characters are perfect for each other. Grab a cold drink and be prepared for a great ride as this little group finds out if happily ever after is possible. Enjoy!

***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
