The Trouble with Tilly Trumble
A sweet, read-aloud story of friendship for dog lovers everywhere.

Tilly Trumble collects chairs, but she's stilllooking for the perfect four-legged, scruffy old thing to fill the space by the fire. When a scruffy dog arrives and doesn't want to leave, Tilly finds the perfect companion for her chair collecting, sausage eating, and star gazing. 14 books14 followersLynn was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Daughter of Clarence Earl and Verna Mary Maycock, she graduated from McMaster University in 1969, with a degree in history. She went on to receive a bachelor of education degree in 1975 from the Ontario Teacher Education College. After moving to British Columbia in 1976, she began her career while raising her children, authoress Jennifer Manuel and David. Her first four books were mysteries, written for Gage Educational publishers. When her children were older, in 1993 she completed a masters degree in creative writing at the University Of British Columbia.
She loved to share her enthusiasm and knowledge through her mysteries and other stories. She authored for children: The Cherry-Pit Princess, Mystery At Cranberry Farm, Return To Cranberry Farm, Mystery Of The Ghostly Riders, The Ghost Ships That Didn't Belong, The Princess Who Laughed In Colours, and several picture books for young children, including The Night The Moon Blew Kisses. Lynn introduced young protagonists whose imaginations and curiosity lead them into all sorts of page-turning adventures. She spun wordplay and riddles into engaging stories geared for young readers.
She lived in White Rock, British Columbia with her husband, Ken, where she enjoyed reading in schools and libraries and spending time with her grandchildren — Ben, Emma, and Maddy. She passed away of cancer in 2010. Jennifer published her début in 2016, The Heaviness Of Things That Float. Her second novel is to be released soon.

This frolicsome tale of friendship found reminds us that — even when our lives are full of colour, clutter and carefree creativity — the best things in life are … breathing.

A little long and wordy for the target audience, this is nonetheless a heartwarming story of a lonely old lady finding a friend in a lonely, scruffy old dog.

So cute! Adding this to my list of quality picture books to read to the younger kids. Tilly inherits a stray dog, against her will -- at first!
