When all it takes is seven days...
Nia Winston, a young high school principal, stands in a fan line at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, hoping to get Justin Ray, the hottest R&B singer, to donate to her non-profit. When they meet sparks fly, or maybe it was just Nia's imagination. Until Nia has a surprise meeting with Justin, a month later while she is in Atlanta and Justin asks her to spend one week with him no strings attached. Wanting to escape her own problems back at home, she agrees and has the most passionate time of her life. As real love develops inexplicably between Nia and Justin, she can no longer hide the truth. And when her truth threatens to harm Justin's white-hot career, she leaves him one night with only a goodbye text. Two years later, Justin unexpectedly comes back in her life, demanding answers. All of her emotions come rushing back, but is she ready to give up everything she cherishes for a man she knew for only one week and a world she never wanted?
I want my readers to escape their realities and embark on a journey of self-exploration and love when they delve into my books. I have loved reading fiction, thrillers, and romance for years. Although my original (and still) writing interest was YA and self-help books, I received a surprise text one Valentine's Day, and wrote the very first chapter of a romance novel that day. And I became forever inspired to write contemporary and new adult romance - with a twist.

Nia & Justin meet, spend one week together and practically fall in love. But Nia is forced into a decision that has her running for the hills and back to her husband. Yeah you read that right she’s married. Is the marriage perfect? No, but that still doesn’t make cheating okay.
Then we flash forward 2 years and they see each other again. She's been keeping a secret that could change everything. But, guess what, she’s still married and they don’t stay away from each other.
Other people are calling this a beautiful love story, and that’s perfectly fine since we’re all entitled to their own opinion. I can’t get past the cheating and lies, though. Frustrating cheating characters are a no go for me👎
I will say that one thing I liked was that she didn't put out right away, she made him wait a couple of days.
WOW…Justin & Nia went back and forth a lot….the development of the relationship in the beginning was really captivating, but soon after, there were things that occurred ( some unaddressed), but eventually the two of them finally found their way to each other.
"Wow" This book was soooo good. I hope that there is another book of these 2 phenomenal characters: Nia and Justin! Their chemistry is so magnetic. I pray that Tiye Love will start the next book and make this a series because there definitely should have been a "Two Weeks" or a "One Month" then a "One Year"! This is my first Tiye Love book but definitely not my last! Time, you are a great author!!! I was drawn in and kept the entire book!
This was the first book I’ve read from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The spice was spice’n 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ the swoon was there. This book hit so many different levels. Jerk cheating husband from money and politics. I felt I have lived parts of this life minus the rich and happy ending. Maybe that’s why i felt this book so hard. I was jumping at joy when she told her once best friend “how’s my back bone now bitch” absolutely felt and loved that. NA AAAAILLLL EEEED IT! This book also has struggles with infertility in it. Why do men instantly think it has to be the woman and that’s why they haven’t got pregnant. I felt so angry and the pain and hurt from not being able to provide a child for her husband.

Good story! Talk about keeping your enemies close. And with friends like this… Sheesh. Well, Justin and Nia. The back and forth. Made for one hell of a story. I didn’t think it would was going go this way! One week with them felt like one month. Chemistry is one drug you can not avoid. 🥵. I wouldnt mind a little follow up. Nia’s Dad was a trip. He needs some straightening out on how to have real love for your daughter. I enjoyed the audio. Good job Tiye.
I enjoyed this story; read it in a day. Justin is every woman's dream. Sometimes a friend can be your worst enemy. This is a must read. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
This book was ridiculous. Literally, the FMC was so irritating 😠 she was annoying and got on my nerves the whole book. The 2 stars are for the MMC and the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I have been on a roll reading books by author Tiye Love and I love it!
Nia Winston is a high school principal and has a non-profit with her best friend Mel. In trying to raise money, Mel suggests they go to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans to see if they could meet R&B sensation Justin Ray and present their organization about helping young at-risk teens. Except that Mel couldn't go at the last minute which left Nia Winston by herself, so after standing in line for over an hour, it's her turn and suddenly time stands still for Nia.
Justin Ray has it all, a dynamic career, money, fame, his two children and all that he could have ever imagined. He is at the Essence Music Festival doing what he loves being with his fans, signing autographs, and taking pictures. When he looks up and sees Nia, he can't believe his luck, and when she opens her mouth to speak to him about her non-profit, not only is he impressed but mesmerized. After Nia hands him her press kit for him to read more about it, she doesn't even ask Justin for his autograph.
Nia has always been the dutiful daughter, and friend and always did what she was told and never questioned even when in her heart she didn't want to do the things required of her. Justin is the wild heart that goes after what he wants and lives his life freely. Nia is about to get a lesson in what it means to be truly free and Justin will be the one to teach her.
This was an incredible story with dips and turns, it really keeps you on the edge of your seat especially when revelations come forth and your head spins around while you shout "WTH" LOL!! I truly enjoyed reading about Nia and Justin and what a ride they took me on.
The beginning of the book quickly drew me in, and it’s more the beginning of the book that helps give this a three star and not lower. Chemistry between the MMC and MFC was hot and the book had spice to it. the storyline isn’t going to give anyone wow moments, or heart warming feel good moments. Instead it’s in your face cheating every which way, loaded with lies and deceit. It was a quick read and I finished it but it definitely wasn’t my style. I have heard the other books by this author are great so I may try one of them in the future.
I loved the premise and the storyline, but something was missing. Nia being so indecisive was really annoying to me. She was so worried about pleasing everyone but herself. I’m not a fan of a happy for now ending. I wish I had some closure or at least an epilogue.
The only person in this book that wasn't a hot mess, other than the baby, was Shelley. Justin started out okay because he was honest from day one but then he went to the dark side. I mean damn... 😔😒😣
I enjoyed Justin and Nia's story. They proved there is not a time frame for falling in love. That was the easy part, but when secrets come to light, their love is put to the test.
One Week was all I was told it would be....I read this book on the recommendation of a friend.... it did not disappoint.... Justin and Nia was a very cool love story set in a backdrop of fiery drama... Can’t wait to finish the series and on to Devin’s story
This is my 2nd book by Tiye Love(Chemistry was 1st), you will definitely be added to the list of authors that are a must read. Nia and Justin was definitely a rollercoaster ride and I loved every bit of it. I am interested to read Mr. Devin's story but right now he is on the DO NOT LIKE list along with Mel, LOL. Great Read
Too much drama with Nia Winston, the Governor of LA's daughter and her husband Devin, the son of the prominent Nawlings' Judge Toussaint. I was happy the hottest R&B star Justin Ray got into the mix. It made a relatable story more interesting with a few twist. Maybe not an expected HEA but a Happy For Now (HFN) situation. LOL.
A new author for me and I enjoyed it. I listened to an audiobook version and the narrators were fabulous!
A meeting of a lifetime, leads to a week that Mia won't forget anytime soon. She's holding something back from Justin. Can they make this work long-term? Or is the week all they'll get? They have obstacles to keep them apart but maybe they have a chance?
I really wanted to DNF this book long before that it was revealed that Nia was a married woman. The moment Nia and Justin started declaring their feelings for each other not even 10% into the book I knew I was in for some f*ckery. Every character in this story is dumb as hell. So damn immature especially Nia. The book cover is hot but the sex scenes are not. Cornball lines uttered by both Nia and Justin. I didn't believe for one second that this was some destined love at first sight bullshit. There was zero chemistry between these two. Justin was super forward and aggressive(with his words) at times and Nia was indecisive, dumb and married! Their fascination with each other made ZERO sense. How sway? Definitely done with this series. Apparently Nia's cheating ass husband, Devin, has his own redemption story. Keep it. I'm not interested.
So I'm a little late reading One Week! I had no idea that Nia even had a story! I'm actually glad I read Devin's story first, because he wasn't my favorite person in this story. 😐 Anyway... Justin and Nia! Their chemistry was 🔥! Nia's journey alone is worth this read! Good stuff! This is my sixth book by Tiye Love (since summer 2020)...so on to the next one!😊
Nia finally grows up and get a backbone, stopping the fakeness and putting herself first. However it doesn't happens without drama and betrayal. Justin is a very good man that knows what and who he wants.Regardless of however many years apart, Justin and Nia can't seem to let go of each other, their love never fading. This story is filled with twists and drama and definitely a page turner from the beginning.
For sure one week wasn't enough for all the love and passion that ensued in this relationship. I was a little aggravated with how much the couple went back and forth repeatedly. Parents with power need to learn how to use it for good over evil... A good read.
Good Book. Justin saw Nia and wanted her. She wanted him too. Nia should have told Justin that she was married. Her husband Devin was a piece of work. Don't get me started on Mel who was supposed to be Nia best friend. Wow was shocked about her and Devin. I am glad Nia and Justin are finally going to be together.
What a great story of love, Deceit, and commitment. My heart wept for Nia. She is one of many whose best friend as slept with their man. I loved the chemistry between Justin and Nia.
