The end of the DARCY DANCER, GENTLEMAN saga. I read this one with sadness, as JP Donleavy is now dead. It's got extensive watersports in the beginning.

Though not my favorite of Donleavy's many novels, this is still a solid and interesting story. It is full of vivid and interesting characters as well as raucous happenings. Really, I think it puts a good cap on the Darcy Dancer trilogy, a series of books that should be required reading for anyone who only knows Donleavy through "The Ginger Man."
