Trudy Matoody is a delightful story perfect for young children! Trudy, a cheerful girl who loves to sing, embarks on a charming adventure to the pond, making new animal friends. The vibrant illustrations and rhythmic storytelling captivate kids, making it a fun read for parents, grandparents, and teachers. Children will love imitating the animal voices and learning about friendship and nature. A truly Trudy-licious book! I received a free copy via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Little Trudy sets off singing into the woods and makes many animal friends with just her song. I loved how each animal made a different color with their song. It reminded me of synesthesia (where people see colors associated with music and sounds, which is a brilliant idea for a children's book . My only issue was a technical one. As a illustrator I would have had them walking next to a stream to keep the fish character in the illustrations not floating in the air.
Trudy Matoody is a fun, entertaining, and vibrant book for young children. This book is full of lessons that friendship is found in people and animals. Children will also learn to respect and appreciate the beauty of nature and the creatures in it.
A little bit of nonsense, fun, and friendliness is sometimes what young children want in a story. This book offers exactly that. It's also educational, incorporating animals, colors, rhymes, and repetition. Singing together, all the characters make many new friends! 5 Stars!
This was a rally enjoyable read aloud book. We had so much fun doing the singing sounds of the different animals! Ribbety Ribberty! Meow meow meow!!! Well illustrated ! Lots of fun for a four year old!!
This was such a fun book to read aloud! It introduces kids to animals and the sounds they make, as well as the colors associated with them. The storyline is also very engaging, thanks to Trudy’s cheerful adventure to the pond, where she meets new friends and shares songs and laughter along the way. This will be great for parents and teachers who want something educational, but most importantly, enjoyable for kids to read.
