Harry Hodnutt hates asking the police for help. He's just served a sentence for jewel theft, and was found not guilty of the murder of Angela Reed. But there's no denying that he got Angela involved in the robbery. Now the man who claims to have been married to Angela is threatening Harry's life. Police assistance comes in the unexpected form of Virginia Bent, daughter of the Assistant Chief Constable, who seems more like a liability.
