Rate this book
Alexandra Cohen is determined to show her boss she has what it takes to be manager of The Springs Café on the outskirts of Ashton Point. She’s smart and with the addition of CC’s Simply Cupcakes, sales have sky-rocketed. The town is in full holiday spirit and with the Christmas Fair fast approaching, Alex has to work twice as hard to keep her interfering ex-boyfriend, out of the picture before he destroys her life forever.

After reluctantly agreeing to run the kissing booth at the fair, Alex has to deal with a continuous line of male customers, as well as an ex who has ignored her requests to leave her alone. But the day is really tarnished when Alex stumbles across a body on the ground of her kissing booth dressed as Santa. The evidence is gathering against her and Alex must decide if she should let the police do their job and pray they do it well or if she should take matters into her own hands. With the help of the McCorrson sisters, Alex must investigate so she doesn’t become the town scapegoat and forced to spend Christmas behind bars.

A lighthearted read that I enjoyed in an afternoon as Alex seeks to free herself from being blamed for murder. Check out the blurb for further information. The book doesn't disappoint.

A kissing booth at the fair causes Alex some major troubles like being suspected of Murder.
A race against time to prove her innocence with the help of her friends, the new hunky policeman in town also treats her like she's guilty.
P.L Harris puts plenty of suspense and mystery into her books and you cannot put them down.

Well written

I love cozy mysteries, but some of them are kind of clumsy. - this author has a well written story, without awkwardness or a last minute twist that doesn't match the plot. Going to go back and grab the earlier books in the series now!

This is the 4th in the series. The main character is Alexandra. Her old boyfriend won't leave her alone. The new cop in town wants to know her better and when the old boyfriend ends up dead and she is blamed. The new cop, Kayne knows she couldn't have done it but isn't sure he can figure it out in time. Alexandra is trying to figure it out as well. Can they figure it out together before it's to late ?

Better than first three books in the series. There was less, although still too much for my taste, girl lusting after guy. The books in this series are much too formulaic. The author finally explained who Kayne was. He showed up in the previous book out of nowhere. The author would be doing me, and hopefully other readers feel the same way, a favour if she could arrange for Daniel to get a taste of his own medicine. He keeps embellishing the facts when he writes stories for the newspaper. He previously blamed Christina saying she made him do it but continued even after she was murdered. Which begs the question "Who is the new editor of the paper and why is Daniel still reporting with bias?" Especially since his girlfriend is friends with the women he is writing about. I will be reading the fifth book in the series since it is the book of choice for April in the cozy book club I belong too. I only read the previous four because I prefer to read books in order but I will not be reading any more of this series.

An easy read for the holiday time. Slightly disadvantaged as I had not read the three previous Cupcake Capers books, but I was soon caught up in the story. By mid way through I had suspicions about one character , which were later confirmed .I found the ending was satisfying.

Life seems finally to be heading in the right direction for Alexandra Cohen. She’s in line for a promotion, her career’s on track and she’s found a place to live. All she needs now is for her ex-boyfriend to leave her alone and maybe attract the attention of the handsome new police officer who’s now working in Ashton Point. Only that attention comes in the form of performing his duty when she discovers a dead body in her stand at the Christmas fair. And all the evidence points directly at her.

Well versed on the capabilities of the local police force, the McCorrson sisters, especially Alexandra’s best friend, Clair, share their tips for handling things. But with tensions mounting and trouble brewing, Alexandra’s not sure she can follow their advice.

***

Loved this latest book, especially the addition of a rather delicious sounding police officer. I enjoyed the interactions between Alexandra and the sisters and the way they backed each other. Another wonderful read. :)

Talk about arrested development!

Adults depicted as if they think and act like "teenie bobbers". No real twists or turns, same plot over and over, needs editing. This is considered award winning writing??! I was hoping the writing would get better, but alas not.

Save your time and money. This is ho him at best.

A good, quick read although I was leaning towards the one character as the murderer early on.

classic cozy

Follows all the rules, shop, hunk, murder, suspicions, solution. Lovable family of characters, very readable. Only a couple of typos.

Quando eu achei que não teríamos mais aventuras em Ashton Point, Polly nos surpreende com um novo quebra cabeça pra Desvendar e um romance de aquecer o coração.

Os personagens são carismáticos e o mistério de arrepiar! Recomendo!
