When taking the Myers-Briggs personality test in high school, Kimberly was rated as an INFJ (Introverted-Intuitive-Feeling-Judging). This result sent her into a panic, because there were no career paths recommended for the type. Fortunately, it turned out to be well-suited to a writing career. Since receiving that dismal outlook, Kimberly has become an award-winning author of romance and erotica. She has written for seven publishing houses, both domestic and international, and has recently focused her efforts on the exciting world of self-publishing. When not writing, she enjoys movies, sports, traveling, music, and sunshine. In her mind, a beach, some rock 'n' roll, and a good book make for a perfect day.

This was a new-to-me author, and based on this book, I would definitely seek others of hers out in the future. Courting Danger is the story of Rielle Sands, a woman who works reception at an escort agency. She has a chequered past, and, as a result, is very wary of men. So when a man manages to get into the agency when he shouldn't be there, and then all but demands she escort him, she's horrified. She's not an escort, he's a stranger... the list of reasons not to go increases. And yet, she's intrigued. The man isn't what he seems, and after an exciting date, a hot kiss and a whirlwind ending to their time together, she vows it was a one-off. But the two seem to be drawn to each other. Then, when strange things start happening to and around Rielle, she's not sure whether it's connected to her handsome stranger or not. Has she trusted the wrong man again?

This was a good read. Sexy, sultry and intriguing, with deep, flawed characters and a page-turning storyline. Not to mention the super-hot sex scenes. If you like romantic suspense with a healthy dollop of erotica, you should check out this novel. Recommended.

Courting Danger
The Courting Series, Book 3
By: Kimberly Dean
Narrated by: Laurie West

I am loving this series, the characters and storylines are awesome. I was not how Kimberly Dean was going to top the first two book but she sure did, this book is just as amazing and addictive as those. Once I started the book I did not want to put down I just needed to know happened next. Courting Danger brings Rielle Sands to the forefront, she was alone working late at Luxxor Limited when a nice looking guy dressed in a tux comes in looking for someone to escort him to an event that night. Something seems off with him, Melvin Summers, but she checked their database and confirmed that he was a client. She explained it would be impossible to get him someone on such short notice but he convinced her to go with him just as a date. She used precautions and let Nina know and it turned out to be a wonderful date night, but when she returns to Luxxor, she finds a freaked out Nina, she was so worried she even called Detective Morgan. Rielle was not sure what the fuss was but she soon finds out why. I just loved how everything played out in this book, the mystery of who Melvin is and then Darien Scott. It was great to learn more about Rielle and her past life which comes back to haunt her and also places her in danger. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, some angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments as well as a hot romance. Kimberly Dean, thank you for another entertaining & enjoyable story, I loved every minute of it!

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Laurie West is a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. She did a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions and personality. She covered the voices for all the characters, took each role and made it her own and played each with perfection sounding just as I pictured them to sound. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

I have been enjoying this series and this one did not disappoint. I really liked the first one, but I think this is my new favorite.

I love Rielle and Dariens characters and the chemistry that Kim was able to build between them. They are so perfect for each other and they felt so real to me. As usual Laurie did an amazing job with her narration.

I cannot wait to hear about Nena’s story next!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is the third book in the Courting Series. This is a series of interconnected stories. I love this Series! Rielle and Darien's story is intriguing, sexy, and captivating. The storyline has intrigue, secrets, and suspense. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Courting Suspicion, Nina and Josh's story, the next book in the Series. Laurie West did a wonderful job with the narration.

A fast paced story with a good dose of intrigue and steam that kept me engaged throughout. My only complain is right up to the end, we still don't exactly know what Darien actually does or who he works for... that is still a mystery which bugged me a little. However the story ends on a sweet HEA and a lead in to Nina's story next.

(request submitted by author for an honest critique)

First, I want to state that I hadn't read the rest of the series when I was asked to review book three, Courting Danger. The only time this became an issue was when the name "Eddie" was dropped out of nowhere. I wondered if he was a key person in the other books. However, Kimberly clued us in on who Eddie was and the past he shared with Rielle so have no fear you'll be lost or confused for more than a few pages, at most.

With that said.....

If I was basing my review on this being classified as a mystery, I'd say it fell flat.

If I was critiquing this as a romance/suspense book, then I would say it had that in spades.

My only snafu comment about the romance aspects of this tale is this..... Mel aka Darien came to the office seeking an escort to a White House event. Rielle, not an escort, agrees to go with him (with much reluctance) even though she's not an escort and she doesn't believe his name is Mel or that he's really an accountant. At the event, the jig is up. However, she still decides to have unprotected sex with him multiple times. Heck, through the entire book, they never once spoke about protection, partners, STD's, possible pregnancies. NADA!! I guess a hot bod and great sex makes you forget all those details. As a reader, not so much.

I will say, despite those factors, the sex scenes were sizzlin.

When it came time to decide on a score, I thought about the lack of mystery and the bedroom blunders. I almost gave this story a 3 but I simply couldn't because Kimberly had Rielle kicking butt ..... literally!!

You just have to love a woman who can handle herself!!

This is the second full novel of the Dean's courting series I've read (but 3rd in the series) and I admit at first I was disappointed because I was hoping it was Nina's story but I quickly got over it. Rielle was a great heroine she was likeable and she knew how to beat people up which is always a plus. Her and Darien's chemistry was off the charts and he redeemed himself in my eyes for deception in the beginning. Overall, a good read if you like romance with a touch of suspense.

Many thanks to HarperCollins UK and Netgalley for the review copy.
