Zayden’s only at this veterinary conference as a last-minute favor to his boss - and the mixer events really aren’t his style. That is, until he meets a hot omega who is down for a quick fling. There’s just one catch: when the event is over, Zayden can’t help himself from wanting more.
"I feel so stupid. It’s all blowing up in my face."
Elliott returned from the conference with some nice continuing education, some happy memories… and a baby in his stomach. When he can’t hide his pregnancy, he panics, inventing a long distance boyfriend who he’s very happy with. He might get away with the lie, too - until Zayden shows up and blows all of Elliott’s preconceptions out of the water.
Welcome to Sunnydale Vets, where love is the best medicine, and all it takes to fix your problems is the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This heartwarming mpreg book features a veterinary work exchange, an unplanned pregnancy, and one very fake relationship that’s determined to blossom into something real. This book and every other book in the Sunnydale Vets series can be read in any order
When you do horizontal Tango and enjoy it, always exchange digits! Elliott, Omega, country vet starting at Sunnydale meets Zayden, Alpha working at a big city veterinary hospital. They meet at the conference and have instanat lust. They hookup for a couple of days, having one accident which they ignore. They forget to exchange digits when they return to their respective homes. Elliott returns home and 'then', they think. Elliott has a flexible creative explanation for his pregnancy. Does Elliot want to find Zayden? Without exchanging digits, how will that happen? Will Elliott like his new job? Nice story. Happy to reconnect with prior characters. A longer story would have been nice. I would have liked to know about the background of the characters. Great story. Mr Bates can't write a bad story. Cover art is amazing!I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.

This wasn’t one of my favorites in this series because Elliott was a mess. Zayden, who didn’t know Elliott was pregnant, wanted to help and be there for him but Elliott was mad at Zayden for being nice. That was stupid.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey’s books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Zayden is attending the veterinarian conference as a last minute favor to his boss. He’s been to too many of these and finds them boring. This time around doesn’t appear to be any different until he comes across a hot omega.
Elliott is at his first veterinarian conference. He’s finding it all fascinating and overwhelming at the same time. He decides to go to one of the mixers and ends up meeting a hot Alpha.
After a couple nights together Zayden and Elliott go their separate ways. Zayden can’t seem to get Elliott out of his mind. They never exchanged information so he has no idea how to find him. Elliott comes back from the conference confident with what he’s learned and an unexpected pregnancy.
Elliott doesn’t want his new bosses to think that he played more than he learned at the conference so he makes up a lie of a long distance boyfriend. Just when he thinks he’ll get away with it, Zayden shows up at the clinic he works at as part of an exchange program. Zayden is more than shocked to see Elliott obviously pregnant.
This is another great story in the series. The small town setting makes the story so cozy and mellow despite the drama. These were great characters and I enjoyed getting to know them.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Sunnydale Vets series. In this book, Elliot is a new vet and is attending his first convention before he starts work at the Sunnydale clinic. While at the convention, Elliot meet Zayden, an alpha and a vet surgeon who is from Chicago. They meet when Elliot tries to get a drink at the bar and they end up talking and having a fun night. They go back to Zayden's hotel room, but afterwards, Elliot panics and flees. At the end of the convention, they meet again and Zayden gives Elliot his number to call him. Elliot goes to the clinic and starts work, and after a few months, he finds himself pregnant. Elliot is going to call Zayden but he loses the number. Meanwhile, Zayden agrees to an exchange program that will send him to Ohio and he hopes to find Elliot. Both are shocked they end up at the same clinic and Zayden is even more surprised when he realizes Elliot is pregnant. I really liked this story. I liked Zayden and thought he really cared for Elliot and wanted more from him from the beginning, but Elliot was scared it would impact his career. I loved their connection and thought they were great together. Another great one in this series.
Elliott goes to a conference in Chicago to learn new things so that when he starts his new job at Sunnydale Animal Hospital he can be up on the new things. Zayden goes to the conference to make a showing for the clinic he works for. Zayden has learned a few new things. At the mixer the first night of the conference he meets Elliott and they hit it off. At the end of the week at the final get together Zayden and Elliott meet again and spend some time together. Zayden stays in Chicago and Elliott goes to Ohio. Zayden misses Elliott, but is unable to find him. Elliott is working so much he does not have time to think about the time he spent with Zayden. Elliott find out he is pregnant and is unable to contact Zayden because the card got soaked in coffee and thrown away. Zayden shows up at the Sunnydale Animal Hospital for the exchange program and is surprised when he sees Elliott. Elliott and Zayden fight. Can they come to terms with what is going on? Will Zayden want to stay? Will Zayden leave as planned in six months? Can these two put their differences behind them a raise a child together?

I love this series and was so happy with this addition of the series. This is book 4 of our fantastic crew at Sunnydale and can not wait for more. Even though this is book 4 of the series, it can be read as a stand alone. M/Preg
This book features Elliot and Zayden. Elliot is about to start a new adventure with being a veterinarian. Before he starts at his new clinic, he is going to Chicago for his first medical conference. Who would have ever dreamed that he would run into the sexy Zayden. Sparks fly between these two along with a wee bit of regret. After the conference, Elliot heads back to Ohio never expecting to see Zayden again. Many surprises await Elliot and Zayden.
Written as a 1st person, multi pov with a HEA. Great story line. Good description to detail. Fantastic characters. Engaging dialogue.
All in all a great read.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from his author? Yes

Another instalment in the SunnyDale vets series. Elliott is a newly qualified vet but before he starts working at the SunnyDale veterinary clinic he is asked to go to a veterinary conference. On the first night Elliott is at the bar, trying in vein to get a drink, when a large Alpha orders two drinks over the top of him. Elliott is so frustrated he turns and vents at him. Zayden just calmly hands him one of the drinks with a smile. They met up again later that evening and after a few drinks end up in Zaydens room. Elliott is slightly panicked about what he has done and quickly leaves the room. A few days later Zayden catches up with Elliott and they end up in bed yet again. As they are set to leave and go to their respective jobs Zayden hands Elliott his number with instructions to call, ‘if there are consequences’. A few months later Zayden volunteers to spend six months at a country vets, and comes face to face with Elliott.

Zayden and Elliott meet at a veterinary conference - and they have an electric connection. Elliott is a first timer - recently licensed vet. Zayden and accomplished surgeon with some experience behind him.
An oops situation during a conference fling leaves Elliott with a big surprise when he thinks he has the flu months later - after the business card Zayden gave him got ruined. Another surprise when Zayden walks through the door on an exchange with a city practice.
some awkward encounters and employer conversations as each seeks counsel from someone who always tells everyone everything - small town.
are they real enough to make it as more than co-parents?
trust and love are big tests - along with babies - and maybe forever.
steamy m/m and mpreg KU read

Elliott is an omega who is a veterinarian at Sunnydale. Zayden is an alpha from a distant city. They meet at a veterinary continuing education conference and have what they believe is a fling, but Elliott brings back more than memories of a good time. When the pregnancy becomes obvious he makes up a story about a long-distance boyfriend. Because they thought it was a one-off encounter, Elliot and Zayden didn't give each other their contact information. Now, Elliott doesn't know if he really wants to search out Zayden. The usual complement of misconceptions and miscommunication leads to these two almost missing their HEA. The characters are well drawn and likable. I always enjoy catching up with the folks from previous stories in a series. I would have liked a longer with a little more back story to get to know Zayden and Elliott better. I received this ARC from Booksprout.
Elliott attands a veterinary conference and meets Zayden and they get close. Omega Elliott has just graduated veterinary college and attends a conference and on the first day meets Alpha Zayden and they spend the evening together. They meet up again on the last evening and end up in Zayden's room but know Zayden is local to Chicago and Elliott is heading to start a job in Ohio. Elliott finds his new job all that he wants but four months later finds out he is pregnant. A week after the conference Zayden tries looking for Elliott but could not remember his surname so he comes to a dead end. A MM MPreg romance to relax and enjoy.

This one was really cute and fun and it held my interest the whole time because i was excited to see what the future held for this couple. Elliot just landed the job of his dreams after being certified and didnt realizes his decision to attend a work conference party would change his world forever when he meets a handsome alpha at the bar. This was a one night stand trophe and neither character were sure they would see each other again but fate had other plans. I've enjoyed this whole series before and really enjoyed this story even though I wish there was more chemistry between both of them, sometimes it felt like it was one sided and then all of sudden both characters wanted the same thing .Over all it was a cute mpreg story.
I was very excited to receive the ARC for this story as I have enjoyed this series to date. Happily, Austin delivered another winner! It is so nice to be able to read about an alpha/omega world where the designations are on equal footing, both as strong as the other though usually in complimentary ways.it somehow makes it more satisfying when these pairings come together, knowing that the omega of the pair could survive perfectly fine on their own. This makes the couple that much stronger.
Funny, sweet, with little to no angst, this story is a lovely read with a cliffhanger-free HEA.

It could have been a good read if the storyline wasn't fucked, literally, at the end. Why do authors think that they could avoid story development with sex (chapter 10)? Does sex fix every problem? If you don't know, the answer is... NO. This is why I hated most of the omegaverse books I read, including this one. The authors write loads of series when they can't afford to release one good story. They focus on the quantity rather than the quality. What can I say? I am done with Austin Bates. I won't read his books anymore because it's always the same.Time is too precious, I can't afford to waste it on some random authors' lack of imagination or/and will.
Zayden and Elliot meet at a conference, Elliot think it makes him week to have an affair with Zayden. They have a few days together fore the conference is over. Zayden gets a job at Elliot's vet clinic and Elliot isn't to happy about that, Zayden realise that he's gonna be a dad and isn't to pleased that Elliot didn't tell him. They both say some stuff they regret, make up and desides to date and see how things work out. Elliot is a bit annoying and high on hormones at times. But its a cute story and I like the end.
This is my first read of Austin Bates as a solo author rather than in collaboration with his brother. I have to say that I enjoyed it greatly and have downloaded more in the series.
Both main characters are charismatic and the chemistry between them sizzles. I did find Elliott blew hot and cold in the middle, but blame the pregnancy hormones for that!
The story is well written, fairly low angst (which I like) and a lot of fun in places. Ultimately, they are a very loving couple that I can see going the distance.
I didn't really like it :( There's nothing wrong with the story, but I am not a fun of books that start from one night stand and turn into relationship because of the unexpected pregnancy. I think that this story is completely unbelievable, the whole relationship between Zeyden and Elliot was mostly based on the sexual chemistry and I didn't really see them trying to get to know each other outside of their bedroom.
The only thing I loved was Zelliott, it seriously made my day (Zeyden+Elliot hahah)
I love this series. Each book keeps getting better and better. This time it's Eliott and Zayden who have their story told. You are along every step of the way from when they first connect at a Vet conference, through their ups and downs figuring out each other and what they want from each other, right on to seeing them get their HEA. Great read!

Elliot and Zayden met at a conference, had an instant connection, then had an affair. Their parting left Zayden wanting more, and Elliot with a special gift. Months later they are reunited and find they have a lot to navigate through. Emotions are high, there are a lot of questions to be answered, and decisions to be made, but in the end their love comes through and they have a very sweet HEA.

I listened to this book at 1.45 Author: Austin Bates Plot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars Story. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars & why. Kind of believable except for the fact that there are that many gay vets working at the same small small town office. And it's a omega story line. Males giving birth. Heat. 🔥🔥flames Narrator.: Guilliaume Dubois Betrayal of the story. 🥈 Silver. why: Needs work on more voices. Some were real good and others sounded like he was drowning. Over all 4 stars.
Nice new addition to the series. It was different seeing the characters meet outside the vet clinic at a convention and then seeing the aftermath take place when they meet again at the clinic. I liked the chemistry between Elliot and Zayden, it was very believable and cute.

This is an enjoyable story about two vets, a hook-up, a broken condom, and unexpected consequences. There is a little drama and emotion, but mostly it's pretty low angst. I liked the new characters, and it was fun to see the guys from the preceding books again.

Cat And Mouse is the fouth book in the Sunnydale Vets series by Austin Bates. This story is cute and sweet. Zayden and Elliot are adorable together and I liked them together. Funny, sweet and sexy at times, this story is a good read that I would recommend. I will be checking out the rest of the series.
Elliot goes to a veterinarian conference before he stats his job at Sunnydale Animal Hospital. He meets Zayden at the convention and they have a two nights stand. Four months later he finds out he's pregnant. Can they find each other and make it work? I loved this book.
Zayden and Elliot meet at a veterinary conf and have a hot night that leads to a baby on the way...only Zayden doesn't know and Elliot didn't plan on telling him! this is such a fun story, with a sweat ending. i would def recommend this book/series!
great detail in the storyline. What more could you want from Zayden. Elliott is so lucky. the nicknames given out are great and makes the story so realistic. great addition to the series.

Zayden and Elliot have plenty of chemistry, which could even be called explosive, and it's really interesting to watch how they manage to get past the actions of each of them. Quick and enjoyable read.
