My first ever in this genre, and I'm surprised to say that I really liked it. There were few instances where I just got sick of the passion between the two characters and skipped pages but nonetheless I enjoyed the series thoroughly. Well written characters with a good story to tell. The author definitely held my curiosity and earnest until the very last page (Finished reading the 5 book series in one weekend).
Another damsel in distress. Where are the strong, competent women that battle life daily? Erica has experiences challenges that could break most women but she prevails. So why can't she face daily trials with the same grace and tenacity? This romanticized fairy tale is just like all of the other books in the series, with the distressed damsel's neediness overshadowing the storyline.
I liked the first book, the second book was also ok but the other ones were quite boring. The hacker concept is interesting but unfortunately underdeveloped. Almost all other story lines are basically a rip-off of 50 shades. The writing is very average and the excess use of the f-word was annoying. Disappointing!
This was my first Meredith Wild series. I instantly fell in love with her character writing. The emotions that she purrs in her writing leave you on the edge of your seat dying for the next book to come out. I love, love, love this series!!!!!
This was a great story. For the most part, it captivated me. There were parts that were glossed over. More attention was needed to really tell the story. The last book was really rushed. I wish all the books were dual POV.
I read it before and it always intrigued me. I was not disappointed when I picked it back up again. I enjoyed it tremendously and I would recommend it to any one.
I loved this series . They are the best. By far the best I have ever read. These are books you don't want to miss out on reading. Meredith Wild rocks. Fifty Shades of Grey has nothing on this ..
LT;DR - I don't even know why I bothered with this series. I guess after the debacle that was 50SoG, I was hoping for better.
This novel started off on a strong note. You have your
• Tough as nails female lead. I loved her take no sh*t attitude when it came to getting what she wanted. • Bad boy male lead. The kind you know eventually the female is going to be able to "tame". • Plot-lines that had the potential to be interesting. Start up companies. Stalkers.
But then it turned into a total freaking sh*t show. And instead of being about the plot became all about the
• badly written sex scenes. • characters suddenly acting very out of character (seriously did just Erica lose her backbone or what? I'm not buying that the d*ck was so good she suddenly lost her mind). • more badly written sex scenes (he was rooted in her? What the actual fudge)? • THIS IS NOT BDSM. NO DOM WOULD EVER LEAVE HIS SUB FEELING USED AND ABANDONED THE WAY BLAKE MADE ERICA FEEL
In fact, Blake isn't even a Dom. What he is is a narcissist. He twists events, and Erica's own feelings around to the point that when she eventually does come crawling back, he has somehow managed to convince her that everything that has happened was her fault. Uhhhh what? He wants total control over the business that SHE started BEFORE they met. He wants total control over HER. When he basically tells her marry me and be exactly what I want or I'm going to walk away made me hope the Erica from before would come back and tell him to go pound sand. But no. Erica puts up with it. She puts up with
• basically being raped • being harangued and bullied at every turn when she tells him no • being forced to conform (via threats) to what someone else wants over her own desires
Again, for those who may have missed it the first time THIS IS NOT BDSM. This is badly written mommy porn. The sad thing is with a little common sense, a lot more editing, and taking the time to actually flesh out these characters and this story? This author really could have had something f*cking epic on her hands.
I was honestly expecting more. It felt like I was reading 50 shades all over again. The very rich, controlling guy and the girl who was supposed to be independent but not really. After the third book, I was already bored with the story. There were some interesting bits here and there with regards to the hacker part, but I wished there was more about that. Lastly, the sex parts were somewhat repetitive, but overall okay.
This is a breathtaking, adventurous, loving, and amazing story. I love the depth of character in each person. The twists and turns in each chapter. A series I couldn’t put down and am sad it has finished. But will definitely read again.
