Beverlee Beaz is an adventurous Burmese cat with an active imagination. Beverlee’s story taps the imagination of children everywhere as she greets the day and romps through meadows, around hills, along the edge of the woods to the bank of a river. Beverlee follows fun creatures kids everywhere will love on her caper such as a monarch butterfly as it morphs into a parrot from the rainforest, a rabbit into a kangaroo from the Australian Outback, a frog becomes a Komodo dragon from Indonesia. Bees turn into pterodactyls who give chase…but what is real and what is the product of Beverlee Beaz’s beautiful imagination? Follow Beverlee’s story of adventure and excitement until the sun sets on her escapades and find out.

Beverlee Beaz, The Brown Burmese is a charming, beautifully illustrated tale about a cat with a wild imagination. While on her romp through nearby forests and fields, Beverlee Beaz imagines many fantastical sights. A monarch butterfly becomes a colourful gliding parrot from the Amazon rainforest, a rabbit turns into a bouncing kangaroo hopping through the Australian Outback, a swarm of bees becomes a flock of hungry Pterodactyls from the dinosaur age, and many other make-believe transformations. This whimsical tale with playful and dreamy watercolour illustrations by Alex Zgud will spark the imagination of young readers everywhere. Highly recommend!

Absolutely adorable tale and well-deserving of 5 stars! The little cat, Beverlee is absolutely delightful and with imagination as wide as the ocean! Your children and students will love joining Beverlee on her adventurous day through the forest and learn so many new things! Also, the images are just so stunning and beautiful, your children will love looking at all the bright colors! I highly recommend this to any parent, teacher, and child-caretaker. Truly a wonderful book!

“Beverlee Beaz the Brown Burmese,” by Regan W. H. Macaulay, beautifully illustrated by Alex Zgud, is an imaginative cat adventure. Beverlee is on a fun romp through nearby meadows, hills, woods, a pond, and by a river—which looks like a creek in the illustration. Beverlee meets a lot of familiar creatures on her outing. She imagines each one to be an exotic, fierce, prehistoric, or mythical animal that she’s running from. Her final encounter leads to a sweet ending as she is carried home.
Alex Zgud’s playful artwork is a joy and delight. Beverlee bounds, trots, and sprints across the pages. Children will thrill to an adventuring cat with such a vivid imagination and a story so wonderfully worded and adorably illustrated.
Parents and teachers will also enjoy this thrilling flight of fantasy. It’s the perfect vehicle to stimulate budding student authors to write their own exciting, make-believe adventure stories. Ms. Macaulay’s fun-filled cat’s adventure is highly recommended for ages 5 to 8.

Beverlee Beaz is a cat with a vivid imagination. As she goes for a walk, her imagination turns a monarch butterfly into a parrot gliding through a rainforest. A rabbit becomes a bouncing kangaroo hopping through the Australian Outback. And some bees become a flock of hungry Pterodactyls from the age of the dinosaurs. There's no end to the whimsical world Beverlee Beaz creates in her head.
Children will delight in this charming tale of a cat and her imagination. The watercolor illustrations are well done and beautifully capture Beverlee Beaz's imaginary world. Beverlee Beaz, The Brown Burmese is an excellent book for igniting a child's imagination. Highly recommended for children ages 3-7

Beverlee Beaz has quite the imagination. She longs for adventure and as we walks along the areas around her home she has many exciting encounters. There is no end to her wild imagination. Children will love her romps through areas filled with kangaroos, dinosaurs, and magical creatures. The pages are illustrated with vibrant, fun pictures. The author and illustrator have done an excellent job bringing Beverlee and her adventures to life.

‘There’s potential here. The story’s entertaining and has plenty of pace. Also, the characters she meets will fascinate most small children. If I was publishing it, I would change the following. First, I’d cut the story by about 1/3. Secondly, I’d persuade the author to come up with a more powerful/memorable ending. Thirdly, I’d design the inners differently i.e. font style and size, and incorporate the text better with the illustrations. Fourthly, I would print a much better quality book with better binding and paper quality. This feels a bit flimsy.’ Publisher, aged 54
