Secrets…Lies…and Betrayal. It’s been far too long since I’ve laid eyes on Abby. I expected surprise. I expected anger. What I got was devastation.
Abby’s been lying to me, keeping secrets that affect us all.
Our past…? It’s complicated An elusive truth with the power to alter everything I know, everything I want, and everything I love. But things aren’t always what they seem. And betrayal…it never comes from the person you expect.
Ashley is a USA Today Bestselling author who likes her small town romance extra spicy with a touch of angst and a splash of humor. Her swoon worthy heroes will melt your kindles (along with your undergarments). She resides in Ohio with her husband and two sons where she pens emotionally gripping love stories about imperfect people who find their happily ever after.
I loved everything about this second chance romance. The conclusion to Abby and Jacob's story is filled with an unexpected reunion and secrets are revealed. Everything We Left Unsaid by Ashley Cade is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Finally the conclusion we’ve been waiting for!!! I needed for Abby and Jacob to straighten out their mess. Fast forward two years and Jacob returns and of course is met with a surprise. Abby on the other hand hates him and he has no idea why. Poor Jacob had no idea how to gain her forgiveness. It was slow but they eventually got there. This book was going really well until secrets were revealed and boy did things hit the roof. I must admit I disliked the ending and I think it’s still missing more from these two. Everything was going well until the epilogue That didn’t feel like one. Other than that Jacob love for Abby was something fierce and he’s an amazing guy and Abby is an amazing heroine too that doesn’t take insults from anyone. She was very strong and I loved it. Jacob showed her that he’s there for her for everything even for her family.
Everything We Left Unsaid was definitely worth the wait. It was so good to be back in Jacob and Abby's world. Of course, when we left off, they weren't exactly together. When we pick back up, they definitely are not together. Also, they have some "things" to work through and they both have significant explaining to do. Many obstacles are in the way of Jacob and Abby's "happily ever after" but if they are both truly in love, they should be able to overcome them.
The majority of this book is spent with Abby and Jacob trying to figure out where and how they pick up their relationship, if at all. If they do, they have to determine how to move forward and what things are most important to them. There have been some big changes since they were last together and they have a lot to adjust to if they make a go of it as a couple. In addition, Jacob comes from a prominent, wealthy family and Abby is from a working class family where she worked her way through college by balancing two jobs. Also, Abby has no significant family other than her grandmother. Their backgrounds couldn't be more different.
There were a few dramatic events within the book, but not really anything I would consider unnecessary. I think everything that happened was to enrich the storyline and aid in its flow. I definitely wanted to see Abby and Jacob successfully navigate their relationship to a happy conclusion. I feel like the storyline lent itself to that feel until we got to the end. In my opinion, the ending did not feel like a conclusion. To make things worse, the Epilogue didn't give me a feel of completion either. I felt like there were supposed to be more pages in the book so I could get more answers. Also, I believe that like the ending was vague enough that there could potentially be another followup, perhaps a novella. Even though certain things are implied in the Epilogue, I wanted more from it. I would have loved a view into what their life would be like "down the road." Regardless, I enjoyed Everything We Left Unsaid and was able to re-connect with the characters very easily. In addition, it was very special to see how they adapted to the changes in their lives and grew to support one another. Of course, they had to work through their anger and distrust first. Their love story is a special one and they prove it throughout this story time and again....
**Update as of 4/20/20...there will be a 3rd book...there’s more to come in their story!! I’m super excited!!****
Thank you to the author for this ARC which I won in a giveaway. This review is my honest opinion.
This is the conclusion to Abby and Jacob’s story. It is a nice second chance romance. It is a little slow moving, but a cute story. I liked it because it was a couple who really loves each other. There is no ridiculous drama and infighting. The story flows well and is easy to read.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Great conclusion for these two. Abby and Jacob finally reconnect and from there the story takes off. This book had everything and I loved Chloe!! You finally see what really happened. The lies and betrayal are awful and I’m glad they finally got to reunite!! Great read!!!

Abby and Jacob had what could be considered a summer fling, but with all of the feelings that made them want more. When Jacob is called for an important internship that he can’t turn down if he wants his career, he is desperate to call Abby but can’t find his phone. When he finally gets back into the country and calls her, she tells him that she never wants to hear from him again and promptly changes her phone number. He’s confused and angry, but moves on with his life. A few years later, he stops by to see Abby and finds a surprise waiting for him. It turns out that someone had his phone before and was textIng as him, ultimately ending their relationship before it could really start. Abby finally listens and realizes that he’s telling the truth, but what are they going to do about the person who used his phone to lie to her?
Everything We Left Unsaid Book 2 Wild Hearts Ashley Cade
5 Stars
What a very emotional pull at your heart strings story second chance romance! Loved it alot. Kept my interest throughout.
“It is true. I should’ve told you.” Of everything we left unsaid, that’s the part I regret the most."
"Abby, I will miss you every day we are apart. I’ll think of you my every waking moment. I’ll dream of holding you and Chloe in my arms every night. Until we meet again, Love, Jacob"
Emotions got the best of me! I have to say I love books like these and Ashley Cade sure knows how to grab you by the heartstrings. I honestly want to hate his parents, but how can you. There life has always been sunshine and rose masked by tea parties and elections. But this story helps you understand heartbreak on a whole different level.
Chloe is a dream and kept me in stitches. The relationships in this book are complex and complicated but they work. And the storyline just adds more to it. I honestly didn’t want it to end.
Now let talk about that ending, is that really it. It almost felt like a cliffhanger. We will discuss it and we did! Hello? Can I get an epilogue or something here. I want a future, a HEA! It alludes to something but really.....I wanted more.
Wow! I absolutely love this book!! This was everything I wanted it to be! The conclusion to Jacob and Abby's story was amazing! I love a great second chance story! From beginning to end this story is a huge FIVE STAR read!
Everything We Left Unsaid picks up 2-years after Something That Could Last leaves off. Book 1 left on a cliffhanger and I was dying to find out what would happen between Jacob and Abby in book 2.
A lot has changed for Jacob and Abby in the span of 2-years and while Jacob wants Abby back, she isn’t waiting for him with open arms. A huge misunderstanding between them causes some deep resentment, but luckily that’s cleared up fairly quickly.
The majority of this book focuses on Jacob coming to terms with what he missed over the last 2-years and Abby grappling with the fact that her anger with Jacob was misplaced. They immediately fall back into a romantic relationship and trying to make it work despite the two of them living several hours apart.
What I struggled with is how little took place in this book. It was obvious to me who the “bad guy” was from the beginning and I found the conflict with Jacob and Abby at the end a little frustrating. I think their romance could’ve been wrapped up in 1-2 books, but now there will be a 3rd?! I want to find out the conclusion to their story, but I’m disappointed that one couple’s romance warrants 3 books. 3/5 stars.
So, I read this book called Something That Could Last. Oh my god, I threw my Kindle when I reached the end, because hello, I needed more! I stalked the author....err, followed...yea followed.....on Instagram and shamelessy tortured myself reading all her teasers for EWLU. When I got my copy,I dived right into it. I turned page after page, reading through this book in a day. Getting back to Abby and Jacob's story was like coming home after years away. Continuing with Abby and Jacob's story really left me emotional when I reached the end. Every bit of pain, every bit of love, every bit of curiousity and confusion that they felt, I felt. That is exactly what I love in a romance novel! When I feel ALL THE FEELS, like I did here, that is a perfectly written, heart gripping, mind blowing keeper in my books! I can't wait for the next one! I need more like last week! Fantastically done, Cade, fantastically done!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Author/Publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*
“He weakened my defenses, making me believe in love and happily ever after. And then he broke me.” ~ Abby
This book pulls on your heartstrings. I kept pulling for Abby and Jacob throughout the whole book. I did have a feeling who tried to keep them apart. Love how the book is written that seems you are watching it in real life.
Make sure you read Something that Could Last before this one to get Abby and Jacob’s back story.
What an emotional read! The story of Abby & Jacob gave me all the feels. I was on an emotional roller coaster: I was thrilled, angry, sad and happy the whole time. Ashley Cade is a wonderful storyteller. She did an amazing job taking us on a heartbreaking but beautiful journey. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
If you thought Something That Could Last was heart wrenching, then consider yourself warned. Ashley Cade gutted me all over again.
There's really no easy way to prepare yourself for the second story in the Wild Hearts series. Everything We Left Unsaid hit me right in the stomach with the very first chapter. Jacob comes back to town again and never did he expect to find out what Abby's been hiding. Never! Talk about being shocked! One thing I liked about this author's style of writing in the first story is her precise wording and detail. She doesn't miss a beat and you get the full effect of what she's trying to convey to the reader. And in book two, Cade doesn't hold back either. As Jacob and Abby dealt with heartache and the pain of trying to salvage what they once had, I couldn't help but fall in love with these characters all over again. From where they started out, until now.
Heartbreak isn't easy to write about and I literally felt my heart beating rapidly so many times throughout this story. Ashley Cade is a beautiful storyteller, plain and simple. She's got that ability to take her readers on a journey, regardless how painful that journey might be, and mend the wounds along the way.
I might have even cried a little when I discovered there's going to be more to this series. If you enjoy second chance stories were love is young and tender, then this is one you don't want to miss! Five beautiful stars!! What a story, Ashley!
Ugh... another cliffhanger... oh well, at least it wasn't as painful as the last one.
Holy Moly, Ashley Cade does it again. Sometimes its hard to continue a series where you love the first book so much. Especially when I wasn't expecting a time jump! That hurt my heart so much when I started the book, I actually had to put it down and walk away for a day, I was just crushed.
But I love Jacob and Abbey too much. I also love when a contemporary romance series has sequels that focus on the same characters. It just allows so much room for character growth and let me really feel everything with these people. I knew I loved them, like, I remember loving that first book so much, but I just crashed back into them. I was anxious for the first 50%, I had the same weight on my chest that they did and I was desperate for the plot to move forward.
The chemistry between Abbey and Jacob has not dimmed, in fact, it was brighter and fiercer than ever. I am so glad I will still get another book about them, even though I want to cry for having to wait. I also adore Jacob for being so certain about what he wants. I remember after the last book being so sure he was going to do the right thing, and be happy about it. He did not disappoint me. He is a freaking Book Boyfriend for the ages. *sigh*
(This is why I don't usually choose to read series that are unfinished, I am just a baby these days and I hate to make myself suffer.)
It will be worth it, I know. I appreciate how much care and effort was put into this story and I wouldn't want the author to rush if it wasn't going to perfect or be what they deserve.
I would say that it was obvious to me what was going on, but I can see why a certain character would not assume the worst, therefore giving us the tension that arises. I have no idea what's going to happen next, but I am in for the long haul.
So I'm giving this 5/5 stars. It gave me all the feels, all the tingles, and I am dying for more.
In ‘Everything We Left Unsaid’ we meet Abby and Jacob two years later than where book one ended. Although Abby and Jacob loved each other very much, life and secrets came between them and they lost touch. Now, two years later Jacob visits Abby again.. and the last thing Jacob expected was what he found. There is a lot of hurt between Abby and Jacob.. but a love as theirs isn’t something that loses strength. Not even after two years.
After waiting for a year on this book, I was both excited and anxious to read how Abby and Jacob’s story would continue. And I didn’t expect to find two years had past since the moment where the previous book ended. At first I almost felt sad when I realized I didn’t know two of my favorite characters as well anymore. But, after reading the first two chapters I realized this made me connect with this next story even more, because I had to get to know these characters again as much as they had to get to know each other.
And I loved it! There’s just something about Ashley Cade’s writing that really pulls me right into the story. And just as with the first book, this book made me feel all kinds of emotions. I loved reconnecting with Abby and Jacob. And I felt heartbroken, confused, happy and in love right along with them. I easily got pulled into this story again and I loved seeing other characters like Abby’s grandmother again too.
The romance in this second book is definitely fun to read about again. You can easily feel the connection between Abby and Jacob. There were some pretty intense and hot moments too. And the story kept me hooked till the very last page. There just something about how different Abby and Jacob’s lives are, that makes me love their story. Opposites definitely attract in their case.
I don’t know if I necessarily loved this book as much as the first book, but it definitely was a great read too. The ending is just as frustrating as was ending of the first book. So bravo Ashley, you left me a frustrated mess again! LOL!! I seriously hope I won’t have to wait another year on book three.. I can’t deal with that!
2.5/5 stars I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an open and honest review
A conclusion to Jacob and Abby's story ...
What I liked
This is really just your basic ending to a basic romance ... not sure what else can really be said here. Nothing earth shifting to mention and plays out as you would pretty much expect given the cliffhanger ending in Something That Could Last. I mean ... it was fine I guess. I know that's not exactly a resounding review *shrug*.
What I did not like
Look, I thought the strife slammed into the last 50 pages of Something That Could Last was ridiculous. So many easy solutions. And so, with this book having to conclude on the last minute drama of that storyline (that I already did not find believable or necessary) ... this became just more of the same. Unnecessary drama for the sake of having drama ... since nothing really happened AT ALL in the first book. I'll be honest with you, I don't have high hopes for their relationship given their lack of communication, that's for sure!
Everything We Left Unsaid is book two in the Wild Hearts series. You should read book one (Something That Could Last) first. I loved Jacob and Abby's story in the first one but I was surprised by the ending. This so picks up a bit after the last one. Jacob comes back to town and seeks Abby out. Things have changed for Abby and she's not excited to see him. Jacob is a little lost at first and both have confusion about what happened after he left the first time. Sometimes things were frustrating between them but their connection was still there. This one is a heart-string puller. I was hoping they would get everything together in this one but then the ending surprised me again. I am so hoping that there is a book three is the works.
The second book in the Wild Hearts series by Ashley Cade is the beautiful conclusion to the love story of Abby and Jacob, the end of the first book left us wanting more and with so many questions, Abby needed to get in touch with Jacob, but he left to Africa so sudden that there was no way he could tell Abby about his departure.
In six weeks, everything changed and the two souls that thought belonged together, were separated by so many things, lies, hidden truths, misunderstandings and betrayals from people they could not even begin to imagine.
After more than two years apart, Jacob can’t let Abby go, so he returns to her, only to be surprised by so many things he thought belonged to him, but Abby wants nothing to do with him, there’s no way she can let him back into her life and into her heart without shattering all over again.
Ashley Cade writes the sweetest stories, with characters that have so many differences, yet when you read about them it makes sense for them to belong to each other. I really enjoyed this book, if you want some romance with a lot of sexy scenes, well this is for you!!
Everything We Left Unsaid is the 2nd book in this series while it could be read as a stand alone, it definately helps to know all of the I formation from book 1. I was so happy to see that we got to follow up with Abby and Jacob and see how more of their story plays out. As a warning this second book also leaves you with a cliffhanger as well. I would definately recommend this series and the loveable characters.
**THIS IS BASED OFF OF AN ARC FROM NET GALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW**
Can I say that I love this cover and it was a fun book? On some nights that I couldn't put this down! The romance was there, but it doesn't develop until further in the book., which is understandable. The one thing I didn't like that is Abby, she wasn't the kindest and she sometimes got my nerves.
Overall, I will be reading more from this author!

Wow! This second book in the series was everything I was hoping for and more. So much unraveled and I got the answers that was waiting for. This book gave me many feels! It was so sweet, some angst, heartache and last but not least, hot! I can’t wait for the third book!
‘I’ll give it all to her. My body, my heart, and my soul. She owns me. Every part of my being is hers.’
4.5 stars
Everything We Left Unsaid by Ashley Cade is the Second book in the Wild Hearts series and cannot be read as a stand-alone.
Two years later and secrets, lies and betrayal have made Abby and Jacob’s lives all the more complicated. Abby has hate towards Jacob, yet he has no idea why. Secrets are slowly revealed and lies are unravel but the worst of them all, no one sees coming.
I really expected for Jacob and Abby’s story to pick up where the first book left off. Despite this I really enjoyed this book, more so than the first one. Their love is just so heartwarming and beautiful, and I look forward to reading book three in the near future.
Thank you to Ashley Cade and The Next Step PR for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.
This is the continuation of Jacob and Abby’s story after book one, ‘Something That Could Last’, ended on a cliffhanger! The story picks up a couple of years later where we see Jacob travelling home, deciding to stop over in Abby’s hometown, not expecting the reception he gets!
There are some explosive moments throughout the book where we discover exactly what happened to cause the distance between Abby and Jacob. There’s a lot of angst between the characters, naturally due to the situation their in. Both characters feel wronged, yet neither know who to really blame.
In this book we get to see Abby and Jacob start to become a true family however things hit the rocks near the end of the book and the story looks set to continue in a third novel!
This book has lots of steamy romance scenes, a love story and family is a real focus! If you haven’t yet started this series check it out!
[#partner @authorashleycade] Okay, so I'm sure you all have seen me rant and rave about the book Something That Could Last by Ashley Cade, then it'll come as no surprise to you that I absolutely adored this book. Following one heck of a cliffhanger in book one, book two gives so much closure for Jacob and Abby. This book had me feeling every possible emotion. I was thrilled, angry, sad, confused, happy again. It was a freaking emotional roller coaster. Not to mention @authorashleycade did a phenomenal job writing Abby and Jacob's story. I honestly just don't have the words to explain how much I loved this book, but I will tell you this. I started this book at work on release day and was able to read 50% through. I did NOT want to put it down. I cannot wait for book 3 in this series. If it is half as good as books one and two, then it will be amazing! Great job @authorashleycade, you did an incredible job as usual! I can't wait to see what other amazing stories you'll come out with!
Jacob takes a trip back to West Virginia to see Abby. He has not forgotten about her. When Jacob arrives, he finds a surprise instead & now has to find the missing piece to why Abby left things the way she did.
This book is hot, hot, hot! 🔥I love Jacob & Abby’s characters! ❤️
I didn’t think Ashley could outdo the first book, Something That Could Last, since it was and is one of my favorite books, but she did. Everything We Left Unsaid follows Jacob and Abby’s story from where we left off. It’s heartbreaking and heartwarming all in the same story. There’s such a connection between these characters that it makes you root for them both. I absolutely love them and all of the supporting characters too. I can’t wait for the third book to read and see more of Abby and Jacob and whatever is still to come for them. If you haven’t read Ashley Cade’s books, start now! Her books make you feel both the sweet and bitter emotions.
