This was the ending of the Duke of Hardison's part of the story, his heir Noah and wife Gina. I enjoyed how the story unfolded, the different characters that made an appearance and the way they each made a difference in Gina's world at the castle. There was a lot of history uncovered, and wonderful interaction with the townspeople. I especially loved the way she treated the empty suit of armor as the guard to her suite. There were many touching moments as she got to know some of the others who worked on the estate in the bid to make a competitive hard cider. Each of the people involved had unique personalities that really lended to the story and the strange things going on in her life. And the way they reached a happy ending was an exciting and unpredictable one.
But that's just it... It was all about her time at the castle, her time interacting with those on the estate and in the village, her meeting people and making decisions. There were very few moments of romance or even of Grace and Noah together, which was a true disappointment, especially compared the the Duked story that preceded this one. There was little emotion from his side of the story, and I had trouble finding the spark they spoke of having between them.
*spoiler* - In fact, Noah barely showed any of that attraction he was said to have had since the two of them were toddlers. He was supposed to be madly in love with her, but it surely didn't show except for the night of passion after the wedding and the stormy night in the ogre's mouth. And, the author couldn't even seem to be bothered to name the child Grace and Noah had at the end of the story. I was surprised she didn't even just grab a name out of the air or possible name him after the previous duke or something.
I did enjoy the story and history because I appreciate when an author can give historical context, whether true or fabricated for the story. I will be purchasing the next part when it is released because I have to know the ending. And I'm hoping the next tale, at Axton Hall, is as good as the first story in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book but I've pre-ordered because anything by Gina is a keeper for me. I love the way she creates her characters so realistically that you want to be friends with them (at least most of them!!). This is the final book in Noah and Grace's story. He's the American heir to a British Dukedom and he and his best friend Grace got married to fulfill a condition. At least that's what he told her! He's loved her forever but never told her. He's spent the several weeks they've been married in London learning the business from the beautiful but calculating and ambitious Lady Bret (who wanted to be the duchess and maybe still does!) Grace has spent the same time at the castle being scared, haunted, getting in accidents, learning the cidery, the people, the hotel, the orchard, and worrying if she made a mistake, and knowing she's fallen in love with Noah!! Oh wow!! She is jealous of the time Lady Bret spends with him and when Bret shows up at the castle she acts like she's the duchess! Why is Bret acting as though the finances are so bad when everyone says how sharp the old duke was?? So many questions?? Grace's ex shows up and harasses her??? Where is Noah? Do they have a future?? Captivating story!
Castled Forever is the conclusion of Noah and Grace’s story. Grace and Noah are still met with many obstacles as they navigate their new marriage and also work on keeping their home and Noah’s status as Duke. Grace starts working very hard on the cidery and you meet Ash who seems to have pure intentions but there is any underlying malice there. Also Noah is dealing with many different things as well, leaving Grace and Noah hardly any time to spend together as newlyweds. The story continues on with Grace beginning o doubt her decision and then realizing she has loved Noah all along. Together they endure a very frightful part towards the end of the book and come out stronger together and more in love. A very satisfying conclusion to their story.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. The plot thickens....Gray is left to her own devises in a scary haunted castle with more questions than answers. Her ex is still after her, Noah is still in London with his bombshell of a financier...however she is getting on well with the apple crops with Adam's help. But gossip has Gray feeling anxious and decided to go to London to surprise Noah as she misses him terribly. Danger is afoot and it means to stop Noah and Grat from moving forward. Will they be able to get past all the drama or will the old Duke haunt them from the grave.
I do not like serial books. I made exception for this series. It's interesting. I like the setting. The castle seems very old and very much what I think it's like. I toured several castles or estates while in England. I liked the cider making industry part of the story. What I didn't like was chapter after chapter of Noah's absence or POV. I understand we needed that for a list of suspects....but still it was hard to forgive or care once it was apparent he wasn't the bad guy. A chapter with Noah's frustration would of helped....idk.
So the automatic star off for being a serial (which it didn't need to be) and you still have a fine book to read.

This review is for al 3 books in the series, Castled Prologue, Castled and Castled Forever. Oh I loved this series so much. Once I've started, I could not put it down, I read them all within 2 days. Spectacular story line, I loved all the action and drama coming with the life in a castle. Very well written, it felt like I was there in the castle, feeling all the emotion, stress and joy. Sexy breath taking scenes and an attempted murderer on the loose. Never a dull moment with Noah and Grace. This is a one click series you have to read, very entertaining.
I really enjoyed this book, just as much or maybe even more than the first. I really couldn't pick a favorite. I love the characters and following their story, and there were some twists and turns in this one that I didn't expect. I really loved the series, and I hope that we get to see more from Noah and Grace in the future. I was gifted a copy.
A fabulous continuation and conclusion to the Castled saga in the Duke Series. Mystery unfolds, emotions war, progress occurs at Hardison Castle. Strong and developing characters emerge and grow as the story unfolds. A enjoyable and exciting read.
